- How to Make Any Application Portable
If you have an application that you want to make portable then this video is for you, I will show you have to create a portable app using Thinapp. Portable programs are very useful when you don't want to install the program onto the system you are working on they can also be run from a USB flash drive or WinPE Live Cd environment which is very useful when the computer is not booting.
These will run on all versions of Windows. I am using Windows 10.

Portable apps are great. My main reason for liking them over a full install is how it keeps them from leaving setting a bunch of registry keys. Sure there will probably still be some keys set, like if you set them as a default app to open a particular file extension, but it's nothing compared to the full install. And many of those don't get removed when you uninstall them, leading to a constantly expanding, never shrinking registry which encourages people to use registry cleaners. Those can cause problems, I've only had it happen 1 time but it can happen.

That does look usefull, do you know if it removes all the mods to the registry and added drivers when it closes, or just leaves the mods behind?
I think it takes a pre-scan of the system then you install and it does a post-scan which detects all the files install and copies them to a folder.
I was enjoying until you said we had to buy the setup capture...

well it is great but after making the portable copy in order to run it anywhere shall I be the administrator of the PC i am running it on!
This software doesn't always work..only sometimes..I tried to run on a different..it did not work.

I used a Trial version of Thin App to test/experiment. Does the portable app that I created need to phone home for licensing or anything like that? Will it expire after the trial period of the Thin App is over?
What if i cant choose the entry point exe ? Its grayed out....

Does this program compile the program into one whole exe file or does it create a exe file into two subfolder called "App" and "Data"?

Hi Brian when I turn on my Windows 7 ultimate laptop after the welcome screen it goes to a black screen no cursor no nothing just a black screen and I have to hold the power button I have to keep restarting until the desktop appears is the only way to fix this to reinstall Windows?
you can reinstall Windows without losing data, all you have to do is install it as an upgrade over the corrupted version and whatever errors you had before should be fixed
