I have such fond memories already of this night, there's more than just the bellend to all this. Firstly, putting everything to do with photography to one side, for you to meet-up after everything you’d been through and to go out together at Christmas, shows the testament to the person you are my good pal! Really enjoyed this, a street playlist is needed for our outings. Belter buddy! Where’s next?
10:15 @Gary Gough This is a Romanian tradition called “Capra” - The Goat, which is a pastoral ritual dance. During the dance, the goat dies and comes back to life, symbolizing the death and revival of nature that takes place during and after winter. The rich colors that cover the goat represent the rich colors of spring. It is very similar to the tradition in Wales, Mari Lwyd, which involves a horse’s skull. Great video as always! Thank you Gary 👍
Well Gary I’m so glad you have come over to the dark side with the Nikon Z8. I’ll be interested to see how you get on with it. Hope you can get it repaired. Excellent video as always! 😊
I had a great experience doing street in Edinburgh on a stag night, didn't post many images as the beer took over and I cut off feet and arms and the like, but a nice busker I was talking to earlier I the day made sure I got back to my hotel safe, Rose Street is a great place to go
You have to be brave to go out and street photography in a city centre at night. Funny thing is that I have found that although I mainly do videos of Blackpool pubs & clubs at night, it's when I do stills photography that I get the most hassle. It may be that I am more obvious in taking pictures, or maybe using a tripod that makes me stand out? Nice to see Mali, I have met up with him a few times on Photography outings.
Such a pity that you were challenged like that. I am originally from the Wirral and flew back last year to photograph the city. It is so photogenic. Particularly around the Albert Dock People were so friendly and interested in what I was doing I have to go back again with my partner as she is so annoyed to miss it. Maybe not just before Christmas though. I did get challenged in Manchester by private security round the North tower as it was private land but they were very civil and pointed out the best places i could shoot. Anyway love the videos so far and will be watching more, I found it with the Mach aircraft video looking for some advice on an airshow this weekend but also notice the fine art videos which i had a try at after a trip to Venice earlier in the year.
I appreciate the settings. I usually shoot in manual but I miss a lot of things. I'll have to try TV mode. So many gorgeous photos! I love street photography! At 4:08 I had to stop and go check out the Mexican food from "La Parrilla Mexican Tapas Bar and Grill" and safe to say, not much of it looks like Mexican food. They don't eat chili nor bbq in Mexico. It's more of an English take on Tex Mex food.
Great images Gary. I love the whole glimpse into life in Liverpool. Videos like this are what’s great about RUclips. You and Mali are giving the F4 a run for their money😊
There was two of you! and that helps.....you done a great job recording all this stuff and I have told Mali that was a great video but there is a learning curve here which any photographer should take in, it is not always wise to wonder around any busy city at night taking pictures on your own, I live in Birmingham and even taking pictures of the Christmas stuff that was going on there last December had its limitations, there is always somebody who does not want their picture taken, then it leads to other things often with stuff that you are not guilty of, of course if the police are then called and jobsworth turns up a massive problem is about to happen. I could write 100s of things about this subject. To-days City's are much different to the ones we grew up in. Take care in this very much changing world. Thank you for showing us your half of the video......Shooting landscapes is much safer!
No pain no gain Des. I do take your point of course. It's certainly not something I would have done on my own either. I only took Mali becuase he looks big and scary. Shhh, don't tell him I said that 😁😁
Good to see your take on the trip to Liverpool Gary after seeing Mali's recently. Thought you both handled yourself well considering the behaviour of the individual and hope it didn't dampen an otherwise cracking visit
Hi mate we spoke before about my Hawaii pics that I was supposed to send, sorry. I'm going to be in London Marth 20th meeting gareth danks. Then onto scotland. Love your channel, who knows maybe I'll see you there?
Excellent as always! I too am in my advanced years and have no desire to take my camera away from my eye to shoot. Totally different energies. My opinion is that those who like to spray and pray have no issues in their cameras not contacting their eye. That eye contact creates a more intense concentration. Was that Ally Sherlock singing "Hallelujah"?
I was escorted out of a shopping centre by security whilst I was shooting a vintage film camera. Security guy had no answer to me asking why he was not bothered about people snapping with phones. I was surprised that I forgot to give him a mouthful 😡👍📸
I believe I asked your partner in crime this question and figure I will ask you the same thing, during street photography, do you run into a lot of people who are obnoxious about you taking pictures of them or in their area? If so, what do you do if they demand you delete their photo?
I'm not a fan of street photography. Taking pictures of random people going about their business does not do it for me. However, I do appreciate clever architectural angles and interesting reflection shots.
I don't have an interest in street photography other than as a comparison between older times. I sometimes wish I'd taken photo's of our town, roads and railway from the 70's, maybe the same shots every ten years to see how things and people change.
Yeah i can't stand taking images looking at live view, might as well just take my phone out of my pocket and use that and i only started photography January 2019
This is why audits became big as photographers were always told not allowed by people who are clueless. I agree it can be a hassle but it really shoutout be that way. The culture in this country now is toxic. We need to address it. Just my 2 cents.
Great topic, funny how many people have issue with us photographing with a DSLR in or around public, seems to draw too much attention. Meanwhile there are 8.5 billion people on the planet, approx 80% of them have cell phones with cameras that take millions of pictures an hour in city’s all over the world without notice.
Great to see some street photography Gary. That bloke really was annoying and didn't know his stuff. Admirable, potentially wanting to protect women in open spaces, but wrong about the law.
If he was a bit more civil I would have had more time for him. I would have even showed him the images on the back of my screen to educate him too. But he was just annoying
I have to make this hopefully constructive criticism before I unfollow you. Unfortunately almost exclusively photo and video channels will start off with voice audio then *BLAST OUT* their music at several times louder which if you watch videos later at night easily Pees off the neighbours. The other problem is if the music has been played once the chance of it being used again in the same video is really high so I dare not get caught out again. Thankfully I don't wear headphones. Anyway its been interesting following you for so many years but my tenancy comes before YT videos.
I noticed the music was loud in my headphones, but I think youtube overall is a big offender, when they play ads in the middle of videos that are much louder than the video was. I don't see why they can't even out the sound better. I remember that used to be a problem with the television, until they made it so that the tv channels had to even out the sound. (In the US)

Very well put Mali.
Cracking day and night. Already looking forward to the next adventure 👍👍

Great video as always! Thank you Gary 👍
Cheers for clearing that up Alex. 👍👍
fantastic video gary, love the fact you mention some go to settings too. really helpful ballpark figures for those still nailing their setups :)
Thanks 👍
Great work Gary. Stepping out like this certainly tests old rules. More of this would be great. 😊
Cheers 👍👍
Great video as usual Gary.
I remember the video with you and Mali and that muppet trying to be a big man lol.
Well Gary I’m so glad you have come over to the dark side with the Nikon Z8. I’ll be interested to see how you get on with it. Hope you can get it repaired. Excellent video as always! 😊

Well done! Can feel the business and atmosphere! Nice pictures!
Thanks a lot! 👍👍
really good videos and photos from the two of you, admire your courage for doing it on that particular evening!

I don't see part 2, is it up yet? Never mind, I found the link in the description. Thanks!

I think that's the same as all foreign take aways in the UK I imagine 😁😁

Its good to have a rottweiler with you Gary, don't tell him though will you, take care..
Good to see your take on the trip to Liverpool Gary after seeing Mali's recently. Thought you both handled yourself well considering the behaviour of the individual and hope it didn't dampen an otherwise cracking visit
Cheers Scotty 👍👍
Great video as always. The one style of photography i really really struggle with. Can never seem to SEE a shot. Some great characters out and about 🤣
Cheers Martyn 👍👍
Great video Gary
Paul from South Liverpool Photographer Society 👍
Cheers Paul 👍👍
Hi mate we spoke before about my Hawaii pics that I was supposed to send, sorry.
I'm going to be in London Marth 20th meeting gareth danks. Then onto scotland. Love your channel, who knows maybe I'll see you there?
Thanks for the video. How do you deal with "consent" and "model releases" in the context of street photography?
Fantastic gary, nice to see you out with mali 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍

Sounded more like a strangled cat after a while :) They've got balls though 👍👍
Ally Sherlock is actually a highly respected musician.@@GaryGough
Hi Gary, nice to see something Completely different and great photos. Please can i ask what lens you use when doing street photography?.
Hi Stephen, I was using the Nikon 24 - 120mm lens. It's F4 at it's widest. Cracking lens
👍
did you pop into wilkinsons cameras mate on bold st
I don't know Liverpool that well m8
@@GaryGough you walked right past it mate on bold st 😄 you would
of loved it in there
This was awesome pov, thanks for taking the time to make it, question are you using the Nikon B&W profile ?
Hi Ronald. I didn't use any profiles in-camera. I simply converted the images to B&W in Photoshop.
I was escorted out of a shopping centre by security whilst I was shooting a vintage film camera. Security guy had no answer to me asking why he was not bothered about people snapping with phones. I was surprised that I forgot to give him a mouthful 😡👍📸
They're a different breed :)
That man was wearing a super expensive jacket, but with a shitty attitude. Love your video.
It's called black eye Friday in my neck of the woods
lol I know exactly what you mean 😁😁
1:20 I like the term “black eye Friday”
lol
I loved watching the video. I also do street photography 😉👍
Awesome! Thank you! 👍👍
That Flannels image would have been perfect if the guy was wearing a flannelette shirt
I believe I asked your partner in crime this question and figure I will ask you the same thing, during street photography, do you run into a lot of people who are obnoxious about you taking pictures of them or in their area? If so, what do you do if they demand you delete their photo?

Fair enough 👍👍
Roman Fox street stuff is good....check it out

"Black Eye Friday" we call it Gary.
lol Been there, done that 😁😁
He would of been told very quickly to f.....k off before he got hurt . Part 2
Strange -- I dont know why you chose to do this, 'Steet Photography' in Liverpool. The hassel and agreesion is just not worth it in my opinion.
Definitley is in my opinion. The shots we got at night were very different :)
I go to Liverpool quite often, never had an issue but it really doesn’t matter where you go, if someone wants to try and be clever they will.
This is why audits became big as photographers were always told not allowed by people who are clueless. I agree it can be a hassle but it really shoutout be that way. The culture in this country now is toxic. We need to address it. Just my 2 cents.
Never had any issue when I’ve been to Liverpool, if anything it’s great for street photography.
Great topic, funny how many people have issue with us photographing with a DSLR in or around public, seems to draw too much attention. Meanwhile there are 8.5 billion people on the planet, approx 80% of them have cell phones with cameras that take millions of pictures an hour in city’s all over the world without notice.
Never a truer word spoken. It’s the same with filming. You get stoped by security carrying a GoPro but your phone is all good. Stupid
He was clearly bored. Gave him something to do hassling you.
lol He must have thought the security badge meant he knew everything. Doh!
Great to see some street photography Gary. That bloke really was annoying and didn't know his stuff.

aye yaya folks are so combative, they need to get over themselves, public means PUBLIC, it aint your living room where you have a right to privacy
:) Cheers 👍👍

What music? The music his videoing picked up from various street performers that he has no control over
Brilliant video and will now subscribe to @MaliDaviesPhotography
