    I think what I love most about the Seven is the way the actors play them like they were actually in the west:
    - Washington’s character Sam Chisholm honours real-life African-American bounty hunter Bass Reeves, who has an impressive arrest record and history with law enforcement, while also giving Jamie Fox’s casting as Django a similar yet different run for his money;
    - Pratt gleefully displays Joshua Faraday as the comic relief of the Seven but proves to be a valuable asset when needed, as well as being someone who never misses an opportunity to “clear the air” from the tension with jokes or tricks;
    - Hawke’s acting as Goodnight “Goody” Robicheaux gives the audience sympathy towards what soldiers with PTSD experience (a primary example being the Seven’s first fight together) and he would later show that overcoming it is not impossible (as seen in the final fight) while he also “talks like a man whose seen action” and knows what killing will do to someone both mentally and psychologically;
    - Lee and Sensmeier (who play Billy Rocks and Red Harvest, respectively) bring a whole new meaning to “actions speak louder than words” and “silent but deadly” as both characters rarely speak but are deadly in a fight, whether it’s close combat with knives or a firefight from short/long range;
    - D’Onofrio’s role as Jack Horne showcases that a “religious softie” is underneath his larger than life mountain man appearance, which the actor receives the most praise for bringing to life whenever he speaks;
    - Garcia-Rulfo’s approach as Vasquez is well-received for not just the Mexican outlaw stereotype, but for hoe he makes the “shoot ‘em up” scenes you would see in a western film look so cinematic and cool-looking.
    Who else agrees? If you disagree, tell me why.

    • @ketaminegaming
      @ketaminegaming Год назад +1

      I will not allign myself with your belifs YOU ARE WRONG HERE IS WHY>>>>>
      Washington's portrayal of Sam Chisholm: While it's true that Denzel Washington's character, Sam Chisholm, can be seen as an homage to real-life African-American bounty hunter Bass Reeves, some viewers may have different interpretations of the character's motivations and depth. Some might argue that the character could have been further developed to explore his backstory and personal journey.
      Pratt as Joshua Faraday: Chris Pratt's performance as the comic relief in the group is certainly entertaining, but some critics and viewers may argue that his character's humor occasionally feels out of place in a serious western setting. Different audiences might have varying opinions on the balance between comedy and drama in his portrayal.
      Hawke's Goodnight Robicheaux: While you praised Ethan Hawke's portrayal of a character with PTSD, some viewers might have wanted to see even more exploration of this aspect of his character's personality. Different people may have different expectations for character development and resolution.
      Lee and Sensmeier as Billy Rocks and Red Harvest: Their silent but deadly personas are indeed impressive, but some viewers may have wanted more dialogue or backstory for these characters to fully connect with them on an emotional level. The level of character development can be subjective.
      D'Onofrio as Jack Horne: While Vincent D'Onofrio's performance as Jack Horne received praise, some viewers might argue that the character's speech patterns and behavior were too exaggerated or unrealistic, bordering on caricature.
      Garcia-Rulfo as Vasquez: While you appreciated Manuel Garcia-Rulfo's approach to the character, others might argue that Vasquez's portrayal still somewhat adheres to the Mexican outlaw stereotype, and they may have expected a more nuanced representation.
      In the end, opinions about performances in film are highly subjective. What resonates with one viewer may not resonate with another. Your perspective on the actors and their characters in "The Magnificent Seven" is entirely valid, and it's clear that you found their portrayals impressive and authentic. Others may have different viewpoints based on their own preferences and experiences.

    Absolutely enjoyable movie! I like the mix between drama, action and comedy. The story is nothing special but the variety of actors and movie characters in combination with the old west feeling and a big bunch of little jokes makes this movie one of my favourites.
    *careful, personal opinion*

    I didn't know that Antoine Fuqua was such an AWESOME director - WHAT A MOVIE, DAMMIT!! :D TRIPLE AWESOME! ...one HELL of a cast - I particularly liked Ethan Hawke in the role of that ...kinda..."PTSD"-stricken "civil war sharp-shooter" and DENZEL WASHINGTON - DAMN! - is on one of his TOP performances here - EVER!...

    Chris Pratt - loved by mostly ALL - reminds me of the also beloved James Garner. DE-LIGHT-FULL! Fun character in a refreshing storyline from long ago.... thanks for the remake!

    The scene where Red Harvest says something like "white man food is fit for dogs" cracked me up, because what he really said (in the actor's native Tlingit language) translates to "white woman stinky butt".

    You missed the part where some lady stitches up the the guy with the grey beards jacket and the Mexican dude says "she did some poking and stitching for you, maybe you should return the favor". That part was pretty funny in my opinion.

    I don’t know why but I love it when the same actors perform together in several movies... maybe it’s a weird form of nostalgia... ( Chris Pratt and the bear wearing peoples clothes... can’t remember either of his names) they are both in Jurassic world
