Prime time Kovy was one of the greatest shooters in NHL history his shot was something else
Русские гораздо круче , чем пиндосня и прочие.
The swag, the speed, the skill, the shot! Kovi was a beauty in his prime.
Man, Hossa and Kovalchuk together were the most amazing to watch. Killer duo
Has one of the nastiest wristers of all time , the biscuit just snaps off his stick
FACTS
clappers too
Kovy and Semin = best wristers of all time
Sakic
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a method to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me
Wish Atlanta was still a team, great logo, great jerseys
Justin DeVito I’m glad Winnipeg has a team though
The New Jets now. Phoenix Coyotes are the old confusing at Times
@@xXLightningFan9864Xx I am to I just wish it was the Yotes.
yes im glad Winnipeg has a team again yes the current iteration of the Jets acknowledge the history of the previous WHA/NHL Jets why do sports insist on having there cake and eating it as well its annoying
Atlanta will be back soon.
Such a beast
Absolutely the most dominant player I’ve seen in my young life. Speed power shot physicality. Did it all.
Rip Thrashers
one of the most entertaining players I've ever watched, would not surprise me if he starts lighting it up with the Canadians now.
Kesler and he is...
And he’s with the caps now let’s go
He was good on the Devils. He was top 5 in the world with ATL
James Sweeney he was number 1 at some point when in Atlanta
Bullshit that's why his plus minus was HORRIBLE with Atlanta he learned how to play a two-way game with the devils and still put up great numbers.
@@mr.devil9577 This. In Atlanta he hung on the blue line for half the game, but he actually played great defense in NJ. His numbers dipped but if you were watching those years, he was clearly the best player on the ice almost every night.
He’s a great player and really fun to watch but in no way ever was he top 5 in the world. C’mon dude.
JakeMCGreen in around 2007 he was
This video made me really miss the Atlanta Thrashers
Love the way he just kinda walks on the ice
He's a freaking beast. I'm glad that he's back ! Good luck Ilya you and your team !
ATLANTA HOFer WE LOVE YOU FOREVER KOVY
Such a great player in his prime. Loved him as a Devil.
I was able to watch him play for NJ and man was he exciting to see live. He was like a player in a video game vs an npc. What a stallion.
Welcome to Montreal
Lets hope that he can regain some of his former scoring touch. Man, he was the most lethal scorer during his prime. What a wrist shot and one timer.
Frank Fab Montreal brought back his career, to bad he went to Washington (Habs fan here)
He's one of the best snipers of all time. He can shoot from anywhere. Ovi may have the knuckle puck 1t from that one spot but Kovy can unleash it from anywhere
I see kovy more accurate too
I think kovy has a far better shot tbh but ovi is better at putting himself in prime scoring chances. Also washington’s entire powerplay for his whole career has revolved around ovi and has had backstrom, kuzy, carlson, and green feeding him premium passes.
This guy makes goalies looklike they were playing in the 80s! They are not moving at all
Can't wait to see my fav player back in NHL
As a Kings fan I don’t care what anyone says about his age, reputation, etc. I couldn’t be more excited about picking him up
Such a dominant player. His second stint in the NHL will be interesting to see...
Was always my favorite player, as a Devils fan it was a dream come true when he came to NJ, thanks for the memories.
Sure as a devils fan I’m not his biggest fan but I don’t hate the guy, he did what he thought was best for him and I respect it, will be fun seeing him in the NHL again
Who’s here after the caps got him ?”!
I would say arguably the most exciting player in the league when he was at Atlanta
Welcome to Montreal!
Doge Welcome to Washington baby
He has 814 points in 814 games. That's like scoring a point 814 gms in a row.
Wow Good job Dr Watson
ta yeule
@@bobber1165 beau travail Dr. Watson! Oui je suis francophone.
@@bobber1165 wow
Kovy with Montreal Canadiens brought me here
Such a beautiful wrist shot amongst everything else
One of the best of all time
Yes, I hope Kovey will play after so many years.
Still one of the best players in history, like possibly top 5 as far as skill is concerned. So strange how he just left but you watch those highlights and there’s stuff Mcdavid wouldn’t try pulling off. His skating was very unique, like the stutter step fakes he’d do and his low and wide release around defenders that caught the goalies by surprise
He's physically gifted and his stick-handling skills are enviable. My big question is his speed
Bernardo Montes de Oca He doesn’t need to be the fastest player on the ice with Kopitar and Brown. All he needs to do is get open
Skyler Felix good point. Brown did have a turn around this past season and Kopi has sick passing skills. Will be an interesting sight to see. I want to see if those years in Russia corroded his joints
And Kovalchuk fights well. If someone wants to offend Brown or Kopitar, Kovalchuk will break his face to this aggressor.
My favorite player as a kid
He's been destroying the Kontinental Hockey League. Yet now he's the hungriest he's ever been.
Is a beast on old NHL games
I used to love watching this guy skate
That wrister at 3:24... wow. Just exploded off his stick.
at 4:23 ice levels view shows his great skating quickness
Proud to call him a King! GO KINGS GO
How about now?
Welcome back
Felicitações do brasileiros.
He has risen
Сила+скорость+бросок и это при хорошем дриблинге...💪💪💪
Joue de même a Montréal Welcom to 🇨🇦
Welcome to DC!
Best shot in NHL history
How many times did we see this goal? Yes we know they showed the same goal against Tampa 4 times
Injun Sniper he would have more goals then Ovechkin if he stayed in the nhl
Arturs Filipovs no 😂😂😂😂
Ascendancy he would he had 411 goals when he left, you think he would not scored at least another 200 during these 5-6 years ?
Ovechkin already has 706 goals and he will be playing another 4-5 years so add another 200 for him which is 900 goals.
I would drive over an hour to see Kovy and the Thrashers. Great crowds, great players, and an electric atmosphere. Why Atlanta can't keep an NHL (Remember the Flames?) team, I don't get it!! Florida has two, Nashville has one, and the Carolinas have one! We need hockey back.
My Favorite Thrashers player
No words, just Kovy from Tver
Damm I always wanted him in Montreal !! but at 27 yr year old, but yea, my wish came true! let's hope my wish come to a great half season with winning goals with the Habs GO HABS GO!!

Такая карьера!!!
В Клуб Боброва вошёл,
Три Кубка Гагарина,
Олимпийский чемпион!!!
Пусть Обечкин об этом
Мечтает, черт беззубый!!!
Cant believe hes a Capital, Caps powerplay: Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kovalchuk-Carlson-Oshie WTF?! :D hows that legal :)))))
Didn't quite work out that way sadly
If he stayed he would have had the best numbers of all time as a Russian born player
That’s ovechkin buddy. He will beat Wayne’s record of most goals of all time but good try.
You're a champ!
If this was done today would there be any highlights of him on the Kings?
Великий игрок.
Ковальчук машина,если его правильно определить в составе.
His release is so smooth. Like Stephen Curry 3pt. smooth. I enjoyed our time with him in NJ. I did know buying him would cripple us eventually but watching him with Parise and my favourite player Elias was a dream.
Man, this guy is so good at scoring in Toronto
I always wanted him on pens to play with geno
Cold assasin!!!!!
Welcome to Montreal?
Him and ovi remind me of each other a lot
They were very similar when he was in Atlanta
If he would had stayed in the nhl he would had more goals then Ovechkin now, great player hope he does well again
He'd have approx 600-630 goals now if he had not played in KHL during a 5 years period.
Frank Fab yes
Ovechkin is going to hit 900 and hasn’t slowed down. Kovalchuk was slowing down before he left on New Jersey. Averaging 30 goals a season. He would of never of passed ovechkin ever.
@@TaylorByers4444His shot is better than Ovis. Ovi only shoots from his office, Kovalchuk can score from anywhere.
Mixed emotions watching this. I’m a Devils fan, so you may be thinking “Oh, he’s salty for obvious reasons”, but it’s not just that. I loved this player as a little kid during his Atlanta days from playing NHL 08. When he became a Devil, that want to emulate his game grew larger. He broke my heart when I was 13, so that’s where the frustration with him starts
Bring the thrashers back those burgundy jerseys are fly af
He's got too many moves mastered
Этот отрабатывает по полной ! ) Ильюшка ! )
Was A 100 Million Dollar Man in The National Hockey League.
Would’ve been great if the Atlanta Thrashers got to draft like the Vegas Golden Knights. They might’ve still had a team. Maybe would have won a Cup. They had to great centre pieces in Kovalchuk and Heatley.
He’s lost a bit of speed, but his shot is still dominant.
Sportsnet needs better editors. Every single audio clip had a constant hum, and it feels like they didn't even take that into consideration. It just sounds sloppy.
I can already hear the boos
Those russians are snipers
Winnipeg jets legend ilya kovalchuck 😂
Plzzzzz Come back montreal
Interestingly enough, he actually brings LA's average age down.
Cole Fahey how?
HE has my name
Kovalchuk is awesome! New Jersey deserved what they got. Stealing him from Atlanta was a crime
hah gfys
It is not NJD's fault ATL can't support hockey or any professional sports.... Nor is it Kovy's fault for wanting out of ATL.....
@@MynameisMikeee ATL could theoretically support a hockey team, they just need to not have Atlanta Spirit as their owners...
Wo ist der jetzt Montreal oder Capitals?
Wtf this is like a career slap shot compilation not a Ilya highlight reel
essentially he's a Larionov brain big body sniper and that's maybe the most lethal prototype you can attain
Hall of famer.
Hey John Stevens, do you see how most of his goals are scored from the left face-off dot? Get him on that side!
He's baaaacckk
What’s the music in this video?
Lets gooo! CAPS got em
WELCOME TO THE CAPS BABY
Song name at 3:05?
Удачи Илюха
Должен Илюха до 500 ки добраться!!!
I just played a game with his 10 year old son artem he was 10 playing u12 and was dirty and had a Hatty
Ilya has 8 points in 8 ames at MONTREAL
Unlimited swag
Hes going to scare atleast 30 goals this season =)
Should have a good year
If he never left for Russia, would Ovi still be as big as he is? I feel like Kovi would have something to say about it.
