I'm so glad FANTASY FOOTBALL is here...at least I have another distraction from playing this stupid game. Bungie did it to themselves...I hope this game just dies soon.
The bans on the discord are interesting, looks like they manually banned anyone with the mod flag on the discord. Some of the mods claim they never did macro farming for the drops, all the mods DID make scripts though (things like well skate scripts etc). So they aren't non-macro users. At least one of the mods doesn't have any link back to Destiny with their discord account, and they did NOT get banned. (That particular mod certainly sounds like someone that should though, as they have been banned twice before according to them). So... GG Bungie.
As a solo player 99% of the time, since they nerfed non-macro farming in the pale heart I’ve played the game a lot less and almost no pale heart play. So it had the opposite effect for me assuming that increasing play time was Bungie’s goal.
At this point i'm not even sure that that's what they're trying to achieve. It feels like they in fact want you to play the game less. Maybe it's a strat they're using to save money on server upkeep costs lmao
I feel like this is the worst possible time to be banging down on Macros when people are tired of playing the same activity over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again
you would think they would be ok with macros because its boosts the player counts, which is seemingly all they have cared about since the game went live service.
Bingo. It's tone deaf. If you remove the macro those people aren't suddenly going to start putting in the time and effort to farm them. They will probably just give up
Which is why I stopped caring about them. Like they're fun to use, but are they so wacky wild and needed to justify a no fun grind? L M A O, of course they aren't.
The start of this reminded me of how bungie waits until they have you back in, then demand you grind these endpoints that are completely devoid of fun for no reason. Haven't played since. After the final shape campaign, i was really hoping they had seen the light. They reaaaallly haven't.
@@ShawnHarris-wd7wuMonster Hunter World for me. Got back into it yesterday, made a longsword build. I ended up hitting 200 damage with an attack yesterday which stunned me. It's also good practice for Monster Hunter Wilds
Nine-to-five is not a real excuse; I've worked a 40-hour for the last 3 years and have absurd amounts of time to play still. I'm progressing Destiny 2, Starfield, and TOTK with all the free time I have; you just spend the rest of yours on other stuff =)
My engagement with the class items is 0, whereas if they just implemented a proper acquisition system, I would grind them all. Shooting themselves in the foot per usual
these guys are brain-dead man they havent done anything innovative in years you expect that to change now when player count is at an all time low and the game is at the end of its life cycle ?
1000% this. I was psyched and making builds in my head. When I found out class item was locked behind that dumb mission and its issues I lost all interest. I became turned off and apathetic towards destiny. Now I’m playing other games. IF they had a fun engaging way to get class items, like Menagerie I would be playing and grinding every version. Oh well. RIP Bungie.
@@EchoDoctrineyou’re upset that the class item is locked behind the class item mission? Alright imagine you could just grab revision zero from xur instead of doing seraph station, imagine you could grab vexcalibur instead of doing the mission, how about instead of complaining about dumb shi, you suck it tf up, run it ONE TIME and boom now you can buy the class item from xur whenever you want, god… swear y’all find the most idiotic stuff to complain about “I don’t wanna play the game but I want the game items!”
@@whiterose2321 lol. Imagine you can get anarchy without doing the raid and just get it from… ohhh right. Well imagine you could get Hawkmoon from Xur and not do the exotic missi….. ohhh right. Imagine me or other players just being gifted anything in this game from Bungie how bad would that hurt YOU. Oh you would actually not even be personally effected at all, you are not effected by any other player getting loot. Every player could pay boosting services to get loot for them and YOU are not effected. Soooo maybe you can sit this one out. The solo players are upset because Exotic Class items were pushed heavily in sales and marketing as cool items that could change build crafting and Bungie never said it would be locked behind a forced co op timed raid lite mission requiring comms. All other exotic armors previously came from solo lost sectors or sold by Xur. This surprised and frustrated many players and many have quit playing actually over this. Including me, I stopped playing. No big deal. There’s only a few of us right? Well player numbers are massively down so maybe not. Either way YOU are still not effected so I don’t need to hear you moan. Enjoy your game. Quit crying about other players feedback and comments.
2/3 of the community is on console. It’s a looter shooter. They took the shooter out for it. It was one of the biggest imbalances in looter shooter history. How is giving an equal playing field back to your bigger portion of the player base “tone deaf” exactly.
@@LaFlamaBlanca757because they nerfed it for everyone. Even those that have no macro and some may never know rates got nerfed and keep grinding. Instead of nerfing the rate they should have banned macro users after giving a warning. But NOPE. They nerfed AND banned without warning.
@@LaFlamaBlanca757the alternative they gave as well doesn't even work either because overthrow doesn't actually drop the class item so now your only option is to farm a garbage ass mission quite possibly 600 times for the exotic class item role you want. It can quite literally be even more if you play all 3 characters an mactic made a video on that. So they only really fucked everyone in the end an the community already hates them on top of destiny dying so great way to keep people invested when they go after the dumb shit but not fix any of the actual problems yet again.
@@elchancho8432 charlamagne. You can do “population analytics” then split it up by platform. You thought you had an easy cook but I am not a child. I research prior to typing.
The game is quickly dying and they still have the gall to think content should somehow be MORE restrictive. Absolutely incredible. You said it best--just no reason at all to be playing Destiny now. 3k hours in D2 and I can't be bothered to open the game. There's no point.
This class item stinginess is the reason I stopped playing D2. I used to grind the game and enjoyed getting showered with loot. But now it feels bad, play for hours on end and dismantle 95% of my earnings into absolute garbage.. also thanks for taking my 45k legendary shards.
As someone who already did dual destiny, I don’t want to do it continuously to get the drops I want. They could have driven up player engagement if they put the class items in all playlists.
AFAIK you only did the dual in order to get drops to unlock in the world, not just repeat it for more drops.. I was under the impression they just started dropping out in the world, once you unlocked the drop potential? not so?
It's crazy since Bungie even acknowledged themselves in the past that, when players resort to these sort of "efficient>fun" methods for rewards, there is a problem that needs to be addressed, e.g. the original Loot Cave.
The problem nowadays, especially with the exotic class items, is that the grind is neither efficient nor fun. I don't blame people who macro stuff one bit. Personally, I just quit the game altogether. Had enough of Bungie wasting my time.
At no point did Bungie actually do something to improve on Player experience, increase rewards or make shit less of a chore. The only point in time when players had a leverage was pre TFS when they were pressed for money.
The game has been dealing with player retention drop-off since all the way back in Shadowkeep and instead of trying to fix things and get players back into the game, Bungie doubles down and says that players should only play the content on Bungie's terms, even when the content can at times be exceedingly difficult to actually play. That isn't the right call, chief.
Yeah good luck completing a run with double primary Anderson and healing grenade-ashes to assets McGee, can’t forget about dexterity mods in PVE Zachary bro, I definitely wanna matchmake with those guys when I’m trying to do something that requires coordination and communication…. Awful take dawg there’s a reason why GM excision didn’t have matchmaking either
Nobody wants to play with blueberries with room temperature IQ levels. I don't even like playing stuff like bonfire bash with blues because they're ineffective and get in my way. I love throwing igniters into my teammate's back because he just had to get the lone phalanx behind me. I would solo que 90 percent of the game if I could lol
The community is just horrible, that's why I don't want to do it anyway. I have not had a single good experience with LFG in this game, and I'm perfectly fine with not doing the mission. The class items have pretty much zero character. Its not like you look at my character and think "Alright, they're using a Verity's brow build", they just see a horrible looking class item with tedious grinds even after you've completed the mission. I really enjoy the unique factor of exotics, and these just don't give me that.
That’s partly true but I think it’s because even on a good run it takes like an average of 20 mins for ONE drop ofc it’s changed to two PER WEEK which is NOT enough Nothing is worse than spending that much time for one you don’t like or duplicates which I’ve gotten SO many of The mission is fun but not rewarding and that makes the mission not fun after a few runs and because of that people would rather afk farm while they do other things The mission is NOT the problem it’s the lack of reward that is what people are mad about
@@topical6574 I haven’t done either and have no intention to. Raids are cool with me requiring a mic but I’m not rewarding mic creep into other aspects of the game
Everything about the class item acquisition just feels like bad planning and then digging in and defending bad planning. Thematically, I like the idea of a dual-player quest but that should just be the easy way to get it, not the narrow gateway We've seen it before, when D2 is less stingy and gives players more of what they want then the player count and amount of hours played goes up. At this point, make them random drops in Vanguard and Crucible regardless of the quest. Collect 10 and you can craft them It's exhausting always feeling like Bungie is alienating their own players. Last time I checked, I couldn't even find an option for Dual Destiny in the in-game group finder (yes, I know there are Discords, don't chirp at me about things that should be options in-game)
To be fair...macros should always be something to be banned over. Bungie SHOULD HAVE banned people for macro use long ago. But they didn't. Why? Because lol, that's why.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn I kinda agree it’s quite convenient for getting checkpoints but tbh they should just add checkpoints you can select from in game Maybe having it so you get more loot and with double perks and maybe higher exotic drop chance for full runs is a good solution too This way you can kill a boss real quick and maybe get an exotic or run the whole activity for better loot and a higher chance for exotic Appealing to both people who wanna be quick and wanna do the whole raid And also is a good deterrent for people who just join then leave once they get the checkpoint I hate that so much but if they can just outright get the checkpoint it’ll happen significantly less often Also for full runs it’s all in one go just so people can’t join then leave and still get full benefits Only time they should is from if they disconnect
@@SepticEmpire Well, checkpoints are supposedly not being banned or punished, so that's no worry. But the greater problem is...Bungie is doing THIS, when a) their player counts are plummeting, b) they should be doing EVERYTHING in their power, like suggestions your making here, to make the game BETTER, and SMOOTHER for everyone, rather than bans and stingy reward systems. Even bigger problem is...these issues have persisted for the better part of a decade, and shows how little Bungie is actually listening and/or learning from mistakes they themselves have made countless times.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn man if bungie actually did that destiny would be one of the greatest games of all time I think that’s what we all want and are all always so mad when stuff like this happens I just find it so WEIRD that this game can mean so much to a lot of us players yet seemingly bungie doesn’t care at all about it despite it being their ONLY game and only profit maker Then again I shouldn’t be surprised when “bite the hand that feeds you” is a long existing phrase It’s just so sad
Putting the class item at the end of Dual Destiny was stupid. It should've been the reward at the end of the campaign. That said, I've not even run that once to get the unlock and I'm not likely to now.
@@LordTactusMe It does not matter how cool the mission is if it's presented in a manner that I feel incompetent or incapable of participating in for whatever reason.
Here's an idea. Just make exotic class items be like every other exotic armor in the game. Let them be focusable at rahool and let them be random drops for end of activity rewards. The End.
I think they really thought the class exotic would force the like 80% of players that play totally solo to finally group and it just didn't happen and just created a feeling of being a second class citizen so now theres a pity exotic but still requires doing it once and i dont think most are going to do that. It should be the weekly reward for that Witness 8 man fight.
4:58 the "once per account" thing was specified to be for the exotic ciphers that xur will also start selling. The class items are infinitely purchasable.
These things killed all of the excitement of the expansion. And what's crazy is that instead of fixing the issues that make players resort to using these things, they just punish players for circumventing the ridiculously awful grind. Bungie is ridiculously incompetent.
@@sha1d01they pissed me and my friend off by making episode missions doable once. I cannot help my friend finish the mission because I already completed it. He's been playing warframe since then because we're tired of the bullshit.
I am sure you, but hopefully others, have read Blood Sweat and Pixels. It is crazy to me how the Bungie of now seems to have forgotten all the advice that was given by Blizzard on revamping loot economies going from Diablo 3 to Reaper of Souls and how they took that to heart for Taken King (its the Bungie chapter). To oversimplify, the idea was to shift the reward paradigm: players are always going to leave a game, but you want them to leave satisfied so that they will want to come back and will tell others to either join or comeback. They are completely ignoring that here. One of the best (depending on class) items they have added, beholden to terrible RNG (1/64 chance of getting the combo you want) AND with severely constrained ways to even farm it. And they keep just tackling the symptoms but not the cause. Here is a once a week per class bonus for mission completion. Here is a randomly possibly chance of a vendor selling a once per account when available one. While we are at it, lets nerf farming Overthrows while promising "trust us, we totally upped the drop rates" on encounters. Considering where the game is right now with general sentiment, the player numbers, the uncertainty of the future, it seems like such a poor decision to attack the avenues that players were using to get the exotic class item (chest farm, the whole duplicate thing, etc). It is the exact bad decision that Blizzard told them to change and that Bungie did going into Taken King, recognizing that players can and will leave but its better they leave happy than leaving disappointed.
Paul, you want to know why they are F’ing stingy about this? It’s because the second they just give it all away, you and the rest of this stupid community will b!tch and complain that there is nothing to do. And now next episode all the story content will be unlocked the first day, and idiots again will scream through it and again B!tch that there is nothing to do and guess what we are back to D2 vanilla. I’ve been with this community for the entire time and every F’ing LFG raid I join will be at least 1 conversation akin to “F bungie, F this game” and yet I never have trouble finding an LFG because there they all are still playing the game like hypocrites. This game itself at its current state has been the best it’s ever been and the Devs spent years to get it to this point. Pete didn’t program this game, spit whatever crap you want at him and his stupid leadership, but dear god stop with these stupid videos and play the game. I’ve seen your raid report. You’ve barely done any of the endgame content. I have more completions in one raid than you have all other raids combined and I work a 9-5 just like everyone else.
Two ideas for more Destiny videos . 1. Why not one wants to do Salvations edge now. Why most normal players have no hope of getting a clear? 2. What happens to Trials as it dips below 100k users per week.
Uninstalled D2 and haven't looked back. But of course I'll still watch and comment on the videos lol. Giving Bungie the benefit of the doubt, which gets harder and harder to do, I understand banning for macros. They probably should have issues some warnings first but look... I get it. The tone def part of this situation is they don't really seem to understand WHY players are doing it in the first place. The acquisition system for exotic class items stink. The overwhelming majority of players have been vocal about not wanting to even do the Dual Destiny mission in the first place. And you can sit here and say "Destiny is at its best when you are in a fireteam, communicating with friends!" and I'll agree with you on that point. But if the majority of your community (not just the vocal streamers) don't really want that content... then you probably shouldn't be making that type of content Bungie. So you locked it behind a method a lot of people don't want to engage in and then the ways for obtaining it solo put you at the mercy of Destiny's terrible RNG. People want to play your game but not play your game as a second job. There is no fixing this at this point. I truly believe players are just done with Destiny.
1000% agreed. Some streamers were vocal BUT the forums and twitter were flooded with solo players begging for another method to get exotic class items. Bungie ignored them and pushed those players away. I saw soooo many players (including myself) say they lost interest in playing because of that. Now players numbers crashing. Wow. Shocker. Oh well. RIP Bungo.
Same here. I haven't played in just over two months now, just tired of the restrictive grinds they seem to want to put in the game. I value my free time more than that. Game has slowly become less fun to play since lightfall and I'm done. Bungie can go waste someone else's time.
@@EchoDoctrineWhat's even worse. This game is supposed to be cooperative and about playing with friends and random people. But there are missions in the episode where it you already completed it you are restricted from helping anyone that hasn't finished it. You can literally do about any mission over and over but not a stupid mission for this crappy episode. After that me and my friend were pretty much done. There is no point in supporting such a non consumer friendly company.
@@hilde198881 exactly. I have never had another game that stopped a player that was further ahead in helping a player behind a mission. Absolutely boneheaded. Bungie is so stuck in their ways, they refuse to listen to players, they have a pattern of this, reversing all the good moves from D1 into D2 launch, taking 10 yrs to add in game LFG (that is still a disappointment). Adding lore in game, treating solo players the way they do. My friends and I are done. We are all playing other games. Destiny & Bungie do not respect players.
@@EchoDoctrineI remember after Lightfall a good few reports that Bungie devs knew the content being added, nerfed and changed was chronic for game health and player retention but that developer management refused to listen. The actual developers know why people, like me, are leaving and not coming back, but they’re being forced to make alienating decisions. It’s been genuinely entertaining watching management destroy the company through their childlike inability to recognise their role in killing the game.
I did misread the Xur section where it's not one per account, that was the cipher. Still not a good option generally imo compared to what needs to be done. Better than nothing I suppose
If you can keep buying drops from Xur, it'll replace the old Pale Heart Chest farm with a far superior method. Yes, it'll be 50/50 if Xur sells the class item, BUT you would have a guaranteed solo source. (Chest farm is RNG, while # of Strange Coins is a known quantity). Also, Attunement on the way for next episode. It'll be a long road to fixing Exotic Class items, but of what we know, it looks to be approaching a good place.
Probably double on each console, ie about 45-50k players. That's still ~110-120k players. Unless we have reliable information on console player counts and the numbers have fallen, too?
@@sha1d01I'm confident it's the same on PlayStation. Last I played, it took a good amount of time to matchmake into a strike I believe. It's crazy, Monster Hunter World is popping off on console, likely because players are getting in practice for Monster Hunter Wilds before it releases in 2025. I know I am
I laugh if I hear people try to use the 3% drop rate as an example with TFD, as at worst, it’s really 6% while you’re chasing other drops. I’ve had more drop than I have needed while chasing other drops (10%). Even those, there’s always at least two/three other options to vary activities enough to not get completely bored while grinding there, all of which are quick activities. Destiny is not even close in the time commitment for a single activity for a sliver of a chance at a drop. Do I like Destiny’s core gameplay better? Sure, but at over 10 years of the same old same old, a change is welcomed.
It's crazy how they keep doubling down on this. It's like Lightfall red borders all over again lol. Why Bungie do you keep picking on this when your studio is collapsing and your game bleeding players? This reeks of, we have almost no content coming out, and we need to string players along.
I find it fascinating that these incredibly hyped up pieces of gear that could have been the pinnacle of Prismatic are a continuously-evolving controversy and have been from the moment that mission came out.
Hot take, fire team finder is a great addition...but it's a pain in the ass at the same time. Add dedicated matchmaking for these missions if you want players to access it and experience it. Having to go even to "in-game" LFG is an extra step players shouldn't have to take for 2-3 man content. I use the system but I think it's asinine. Your application can get denied, elitist players request absurdly high guardian ranks, etc. Just allow matchmaking for those who fall into the "average" player category.
@@alphernJust using it to try and matchmake for EXPERT liminality nightfall last week was a terrible experience, with people quitting and acting like you need a totally meta build.
I see people in Lucky10p's video on this in support of the macro bans (the Bungie bootlickers) and I'm left in utter disbelief over the lack of common sense. They view macros as a cheat but they're actually VERY useful in improving the quality of a game. Take FFXIV for example, macros are used in the crafting of higher level items because the higher your crafter's level, the more skills you use. I will send such an example of my macro for reference: /ac Reflect /ac Manipulation /ac Innovation /ac "Waste Not II" /ac "Basic Touch" /ac "Standard Touch" /ac "Advanced Touch" /ac Innovation /ac "Basic Touch" /ac "Standard Touch" /ac "Advanced Touch" /ac "Basic Touch" /ac Innovation /ac "Waste Not II" /echo This is my level 90 crafting macro for Blacksmith in FFXIV. every "/ac" input you see is an action input thats automatically registered once I select the option while crafting. The "/echo" input is a notification sound that plays to tell me that the macro has completed. Its effectively a QoL feature
I think it's pretty clear that Bungie was hoping the exotic class items would be the long-tail grind post final shape. My opinion is that prismatic build-crafting is not as interesting as 3.0 subclass build-crafting.
The System they implemented with Lightfall Was a literal downgrade, meant to sunset the old System and half of the mods. So much for freedom of buildcrafting.
As a solo Titan It wasnt the prismatic kit lacking, exotic class items locked, layoffs happening, scaled back content, or even no D3 in development. I left because even after ALL of that.. They patch the LION RAMPANTS happy little accident. Went from "Cayde's favorite" to 300 bright dust 'Thanks for playing.'
This just doesn't help anyone really. Did they seriously think that macro farming users had more advantage than the one who legit dual destiny farm? No, both had terrible drop rates. The game is dying, the devs in all time low-morale condition, the community leaving, yet they still doing the most stingy thing whenever it's possible.
Destiny 2: Grind Don’t Stop. In all seriousness, I’m over this game. It sucks. It’s boring, bland, grindy, and has 0 innovation towards their story. They’ve been using the same formula for years and expect the players to stick around. Feels like they’re purposely making the game bad.
I remember when these were first revealed I assumed they'd be farmable via whatever the new expansion activity was. I GUESS that's technically true, given that's basically Overthrow for this expansion but... man, it is nowhere NEAR as generous as it needed to be. I saw all the possible combinations and I thought for SURE they'd tie them to just running a certain activity, an activity with MATCHMAKING, something you could actually just grind and see some results after each run. The fact that they're being SO stingy is just baffling to me. What even is the point?! The worst part is there are SO few combinations that are even worth using. Many of the perks have been diminished to the point of me wondering why they bothered at all. Necrotic's poison is a slight tickle, Vesper is a slight tickle that also does not blind anything, Wormhusk heals too little to make any real difference at all, etc. I understand the Spirit versions of these perks can't just outright match the original perk, but they needed to think this stuff through more. Either give the original exotics more functionality/potency, or just don't bother. The way they did this results in most rolls you get just being a shrug accompanied by, "Oh. Okay then." You either get the juice, or it's trash. And with how long they take to farm, that is just NOT acceptable at all.
Yep. I thought for sure they had a match made Menagerie activity coming and it would blow the doors off and players would still be hyped. Nope. Forced 2 player no matchmaking comms required raid callouts timed mission that wipes you to orbit with no checkpoints and super stingy with the drops. Lmao 🤣 Well I should have known . Bungo is the master of 1 step forward and 3 steps backward
@@Luckydave123 “everyone cheered” Well no you are not everyone. This community has never agreed on anything and there is no one single voice for all players. So no.
I can't even get the first one that starts you off to get rolls of them; the light-level requirement is too high, and the puzzle element of it is too complex for my brain to grasp.
I slogged myself getting the glows n armor on all 3 classes and haven't touched solstice since. Last year, if u unlocked glows on one u unlocked glows on all i believe
I love how they made pathfinder to stop us bounty grinding but made the event which is supposed to engage players until act 3 starts, a massive slog of a bounty grind without even a multiplier on the other 2 classes to speed it up.
Not going to lie to you other than the story and maybe prismatic. Everything else has been utter garbage. Taking away legendary shards to taking away bounties.
Jesus Bungie, if you want Xur to sell them, increase their strange coin cost and make them infinitely re-rollable that week. We'll still have to increase play time but at least we can grind.
I feel like these class items are becoming more of a headache for both the game designers and players. Just rip the band-aid off and let us craft them so we don't have to dance back and forth with this anymore.
They really ought to be glad that people are even occupying server space at this point. Even if they are afk. Way to piss off even more people bungle. 🙄
There’s a couple combinations per class that are good to great. None of them are game breakingly good or even worth going out of your way for. They’re just nice if they drop but you can do as good or some degrees of better with normal exotic armor pieces. Titan regular Synthoceps boost your super which you’ll miss out on with the class item (and realistically you can already mindlessly spam without HoIL). That applies if you still need that hard hitting slam but want super help other wise you can do an exotic class item with Star Eaters for some more damage. Hunter you’re not taking off Nighthawk. Warlock probably has the most relevant class item because of Star Eaters will buff your super damage while having a first column perk to do more DPS or help with add clearing. DPS is really the only thing that matters because even though there are cool set ups you already have infinite ability spam if you build right and it’s just un-needed overkill. I use Felwinter’s outside of boss encounters and I can’t spam by slide enough without using Transcendence and most everything either dies or is almost dead with a 30% debuff and immobile forever. You’re not going to find any general play combination that is probably more useful than that.
5:35 Honestly I dont even care about these until I can unlock it solo. I was going to do it with a friend but he had something come up and I just wont do something stressful for 3 hours with people I dont know. I play to many games to waste a night in lfg getting mad with people I dont know. I get enough of that at work lol.. Ill just be playing the story and maybe grinding the cosmetic fomo and logging out. This whole class item grind just makes me want to not take this game serious until I got access to the same tools as everyone else. The only reason I can suspect is they don't have the next chase lined up and are having trouble coming up with one with everything going on so they are drawing this chase out. Imo this is driving people away where opening up full access would give people reason to play and try lots of builds. Its always better to let players finish a grind and leave satisfied because if they leave out of apathy you risk them not coming back. 10:30 I am a sucker for earned cosmitics and solstice armor transmog usually gets me. I actually prefer the white version to the colored just because Im from the old days and I like to show off things I worked for in game. Maybe I finish the card maybe not but I think they did pretty decent on the armors this year, art and even acquisition I didn't mind.
Bungie, let me be clear about this: I'm not gonna play that stupid mission ever again! Fix the damn patrol, you fixed the macro shit. Reverse the changes. AND FIX MY FUCKING NAME! If you decide to not hear is, this game will fucking die. Like Anthem dead. Don't fuck with our little patience.
I'll probably be screamed at for this, and I generally don't advocate for people to be fired, but seriously whoever is in charge of overall loot and economy balancing in Destiny 2 should go, and never ever be in any position of power again. It's always been like this, they've always been absurdly stingy with loot, they're like the guys who ran Diablo 3 and then 4's loot system except those people are actually capable of change. Crafting was a terrible solution to an _incredibly_ easy to solve problem. Double, triple, quadruple the loot across the game at every level. If you want to farm for something, you should be able to do it. Bungie puts up these weird barriers to grinding and then gets confused as to why people stop playing the game. Dual Destiny is like their crowning, gloriously stupid loot farming masterpiece. The only way it could be more dumb is if they sold access to exotic class items separately from the rest of the game.
I finished TFS campaign. Tried doing some of the post campaign dtuff. I was so incredibly bored that i just kinda stopped playing. Never even got an exoric class item. Haven't really played, until i logged in last week and was affected by the name change bug. Im done for while i think. I was already disengaged and that just pushed me over the edge.
I haven't done Dual Destiny once and I don't plan to. Hearing about how hard it is to get a decent roll has made me completely uninterested in getting these stupid things. I've got plenty of regular exotics that pair just fine with prismatic.
I appreciate that your still posting on d2 stuff even with out playing, I'm in the same boat. I'm taking time off the game to play other games till d2 has better story output.
I haven't seen it mentioned in the comments, but I understood that the exotic class items were unlimited per week provided you had the coins, where the exotic cipher was limited to one per week per account. That's how the update came across to me.

I think the idea is to keep people playing Dual Destiny so that there'll be someone to play with. It's the dark version of giving everyone a pinnacle for doing Excision again, so that there'll always be an instance going.
I still haven’t done dual destiny and regardless of how good the mission might be, I am fed up with Bungie’s actions to the issues they cause that I will not go out my way to complete this.
They're not tone deaf, they're 1000% implementing adjustments that drip feed what we want, instead of outright giving us it, so plyer time stays high. It's always about money and player time. Keep them grinding, keep them playing, or they won't spend more on expansions and the store. Simple as.
I have been grinding and playing this game since the OG days , and it’s very heart breaking to see a game and developers I have come to love and respect absolutely tear this game right down and destroy it … something that could have been amazing for even more years to come has been utterly ruined by bungie and the people behind it laying off the people who were actual fans of the franchise to just money hungry grunts at this point.
Man switching over to First Descendant full time was quite the good choice. Uninstalled Destiny once the ship seemed to be sinking. Havent bothered to care for shit. This game is doomed. They fucked up and now their paying for it.
It's sad that instead of addressing the actual problem of why people are using macros to do this in the first place they just ban them instead lol. Rahool needs to just let us focus exotic engrams into the class exotic. It would be awesome to have a reason to grind legend/master lost sectors again after you get your first initial 3 exotic engrams from ritual activities.
i don't understand - especially the dual destiny requirement. These class items are an excellent opportunity to create and sell ornaments. They should be raining from the sky. I'd buy an ornament every season.
Xur's exotic class items sales will not be limited to 1 per account, exotic ciphers ,which he can bring instead of exotic item, will Direct quote from 08/15/2024 TWID: "Exotic Class Items on Xûr will cost 41 Strange Coins and will have random rolls . The only requirement to get them is to have unlocked the regular acquisition path through the Dual Destiny mission for each character. If not offered, the alternative is an Exotic Cipher, which will cost 79 Strange Coins and will be limited to one per account."
Ah, typical Bungie. Addressing the symptom instead of the root problem. This is one of those times that I appreciate Digital Extremes for the way they communicate and engage with their playerbase. I haven't played Warframe in years but I still watch their streams and dev shorts. Whenever someone in chat brings up a topic no matter how sensitive, the devs address it and explain why it exists and what they are doing to change it or why they can't. It boggles my mind why Bungie chooses to be stingy with these things, and when confronted either deflects or ignores the issue. As someone else said in another video (paraphrasing heavily here lmao): Actual bugs/cheating exist: I sleep Macro farming because rewards/RNG are crap: HOLY SHIT NUKE IT ALL TO HELL
I was never going to farm dual destiny, but since the drop rate changes I haven't touched any overthrows at all... I used to do a few every day, it was just mindless killing, and on average I got one after quite frequently, about 2 ever 3 completions, now it's maybe 1 for 3 completions as I have heard, so will never play it like that
i feel like what really pushed them on the macro farms was people also using macros for private match farming for cores, silver leaves and whatever else. rather than manually checkpoint swapping to just get leaves, you could throw it on while at work, get quicker leaves and other resources on top of it
i have no idea why they didn’t let us craft our own class items. Bungle’s obsession with making players grind down to the bone for mediocre rewards has poisoned destiny from the very beginning. i hate to see one of my favorite games fail like this, but bungie is out of chances now. i just hope the people who lost their jobs won’t give up on their passion for games.
As someone who has done nearly all the dungeons, exotic missions and some GM’s solo the class item locked behind a co-op mission is just ridiculous and loads want it changed. I’ve got bored off all this crap with Bungie and have moved more into TFD and Warframe - trying to find which one I enjoy more, TFD winning as Warframe is a nightmare to understand.
Same. Day after exotic class items dropped I saw forums, twitter & RUclips comments FULL of solo players asking for changes. Silence from Bungie. Forum posts mysteriously vanished. Solo player posted again and threatened to leave, elite players told them “get gud, leave, it’s mmo we don’t want you” Player numbers oddly dropped. And now I’m happily playing other games. Well well well.
It's one of the only power progressions left in the game. If people get what they want they will stop playing. Glad I stopped playing a month and a half ago since The First Descendant is great and has actual power scaling and farm optimization.
Macros were still being used to grind XP in the post golgy maze cp in kings fall as it has been since that raid came out. Replaced the old xp farm on the moon. With the changes to artifact scaling requiring way more xp to get to +20, and being up to +20 making a difference in GMs now I suspect slightly higher interest in that macro than previous seasons
im just glad i got to be a part of the whole journey this whole time playing destiny. i love the game unconditionally. and it's like life, there's things we dont like about it and we're gonna complain and suggest options to fix or change but we still live life. Enjoy more things people, while shutting the fuck up. thanks Bungie.
As bungie restructures Sony is whispering about attracting new players to the game... Bungie adds more grind 🤦🏼♂️ with a job and family bungie is telling me their game isn't for me anymore
Imagine playing after the credits in TFS. I uninstalled and thats gonna be my “end of the series”. I would feel different if Bungie were not being Bungie. My guardians will live forever in my memory.
i finished all 3 solstice armor sets last week and have not touched the game since, the only thing i was doing before solstice was grinding the hunter class item. gj bungie! also, the two drops i did get after the "patch" were from random chests in the pale heart and not from overthrow
It’s SO weird how they’re just utterly unwilling to add at the very least, drop protection. They’re adding many other features that no one’s asking for, but just won’t add DP. It’s the weirdest thing, especially when they should be trying to retain players.
Didn't realize the Xur thing wasn't even guaranteed beyond the featured week of the announcement. It should be every week, up to three random rolls obtainable on account regardless of character, AND I think they should offer a pre-rolled version you can purchase similar to all the other exotics every week. Most of the combinations aren't even useful. They really gotta start optimizing their player QoL. Still shocked we haven't seen new game-obtainable ornaments for popular legendary weapons. It'd be such an easy way to get people jumping into activities that are otherwise farmed out. Why don't we have shiny versions of Solstice weapons? If I had a reasonable path to obtain new skins for raid/dungeon/nightfall/trials/comp weapons I've already crafted or obtained, I'd be totally in to farming those. Guess the waiting game continues. Here's hoping for some big swings from Bungie in the near future.
*three hours later Bungie puts out a picture showing the class item focusing system* sighhhhhhh
@@paul_tassi Bungie is their own worst enemy.

Two more years at most and Bungie it’s history.
I mean, it's still 7 weeks away
The bans on the discord are interesting, looks like they manually banned anyone with the mod flag on the discord.
Some of the mods claim they never did macro farming for the drops, all the mods DID make scripts though (things like well skate scripts etc).
So they aren't non-macro users.
At least one of the mods doesn't have any link back to Destiny with their discord account, and they did NOT get banned.
(That particular mod certainly sounds like someone that should though, as they have been banned twice before according to them).
So... GG Bungie.
I’m engaging less because of their decisions.
yeah ngl im now veiwing bungie as the new blizzard. Even though ik they've been like this 4 awhile now
As a solo player 99% of the time, since they nerfed non-macro farming in the pale heart I’ve played the game a lot less and almost no pale heart play. So it had the opposite effect for me assuming that increasing play time was Bungie’s goal.
At this point i'm not even sure that that's what they're trying to achieve. It feels like they in fact want you to play the game less. Maybe it's a strat they're using to save money on server upkeep costs lmao
I have others to play with and at this point I only hop on to get my weekly red borders, and farm GM's if it's a weapon I want a great roll for
Agreed. I haven't farmed the pale heart in 3 weeks. F this game!
They will probably just give up
Bungie trying to squeeze every drop of player engagement out of these exotic class items
Which is why I stopped caring about them. Like they're fun to use, but are they so wacky wild and needed to justify a no fun grind? L M A O, of course they aren't.
Doesn’t AFK farming actually make things look better for them, though? I’m baffled by their decision.
Nah, Bungie trying to squeeze every drop of player engagement out of a player base that is leaving a clearly visionless franchise.
The start of this reminded me of how bungie waits until they have you back in, then demand you grind these endpoints that are completely devoid of fun for no reason. Haven't played since. After the final shape campaign, i was really hoping they had seen the light. They reaaaallly haven't.
The ship is sinking and sinking fast.
And there’s nothing bungie can do to save it unfortunately
@@TaylerPlaysNothing Bungie WILL do to save it. There’s plenty they can do.

My engagement with the class items is 0, whereas if they just implemented a proper acquisition system, I would grind them all. Shooting themselves in the foot per usual
Yeah. Now that they give you two a week on your first clear I finally player the mission again. Just once per character and I’m good.
these guys are brain-dead man they havent done anything innovative in years you expect that to change now when player count is at an all time low and the game is at the end of its life cycle ?
1000% this.
I was psyched and making builds in my head. When I found out class item was locked behind that dumb mission and its issues I lost all interest. I became turned off and apathetic towards destiny.

Bungie being tone deaf to the community is honestly par for the course at this point unfortunately

@@LaFlamaBlanca757the alternative they gave as well doesn't even work either because overthrow doesn't actually drop the class item so now your only option is to farm a garbage ass mission quite possibly 600 times for the exotic class item role you want. You said it best--just no reason at all to be playing Destiny now. 3k hours in D2 and I can't be bothered to open the game. There's no point.
What is more restrictive than locking it behind a 2 man activity, when exotic armor has NEVER, in 10 uears, been restricted that way
This class item stinginess is the reason I stopped playing D2. I used to grind the game and enjoyed getting showered with loot. But now it feels bad, play for hours on end and dismantle 95% of my earnings into absolute garbage.. also thanks for taking my 45k legendary shards.
I stopped chasing loot when they Nerfed Gambit Jade stone glow.
Like y'all really Nerf to cosmetic that wasn't even breaking the game come on
I miss legendary shards more than I thought I would. It felt good saving them up and then really bad when they were arbitrarily removed.
As someone who already did dual destiny, I don’t want to do it continuously to get the drops I want. They could have driven up player engagement if they put the class items in all playlists.
Not all my characters were strong enough to tackle dual destiny
I did it once, and it's not fun. And it's definitely not worth it for these stupid exotics.
The team is much too small now to really be effective at upholding this philosophy anymore.
The problem nowadays, especially with the exotic class items, is that the grind is neither efficient nor fun. I don't blame people who macro stuff one bit. Personally, I just quit the game altogether. Had enough of Bungie wasting my time.
The people that acknowledged that were laid off.....
At no point did Bungie actually do something to improve on Player experience, increase rewards or make shit less of a chore. The only point in time when players had a leverage was pre TFS when they were pressed for money.
more proof that Bungie is the true Destiny killer
As a warframe player, the destiny grind is tedious as all hell
...people need to really understand what this means...
The game is completely broken just let rahool sell them
After you spend many hours grinding to use him as a vendor now, ffs......
Sry not participating in this exotic class item debacle - can’t even find anybody to run it with in the first place; it should be match made 😅
Yeah good luck completing a run with double primary Anderson and healing grenade-ashes to assets McGee, can’t forget about dexterity mods in PVE Zachary bro, I definitely wanna matchmake with those guys when I’m trying to do something that requires coordination and communication…. Awful take dawg there’s a reason why GM excision didn’t have matchmaking either
Mission sucks anyways. Completed it once and never touched it again.
Not enough players wanted to play the mission to get them it seems. Surprisingly, the vast majority of the player base don’t want to be micd up
Nobody wants to play with blueberries with room temperature IQ levels. I don't even like playing stuff like bonfire bash with blues because they're ineffective and get in my way. I love throwing igniters into my teammate's back because he just had to get the lone phalanx behind me. I would solo que 90 percent of the game if I could lol
Everybody is a blueberry to everybody else.
It really isn't that hard to find chill and competent people.
That’s partly true but I think it’s because even on a good run it takes like an average of 20 mins for ONE drop ofc it’s changed to two PER WEEK which is NOT enough
Nothing is worse than spending that much time for one you don’t like or duplicates which I’ve gotten SO many of
The mission is fun but not rewarding and that makes the mission not fun after a few runs and because of that people would rather afk farm while they do other things
The mission is NOT the problem it’s the lack of reward that is what people are mad about
@@topical6574 I haven’t done either and have no intention to. Raids are cool with me requiring a mic but I’m not rewarding mic creep into other aspects of the game
Everything about the class item acquisition just feels like bad planning and then digging in and defending bad planning. Thematically, I like the idea of a dual-player quest but that should just be the easy way to get it, not the narrow gateway
We've seen it before, when D2 is less stingy and gives players more of what they want then the player count and amount of hours played goes up. At this point, make them random drops in Vanguard and Crucible regardless of the quest. Collect 10 and you can craft them
It's exhausting always feeling like Bungie is alienating their own players. Last time I checked, I couldn't even find an option for Dual Destiny in the in-game group finder (yes, I know there are Discords, don't chirp at me about things that should be options in-game)
Bungie: we allow it
Bungie a few months later: wait a minute YOUR BANNED
To be fair...macros should always be something to be banned over. Bungie SHOULD HAVE banned people for macro use long ago. But they didn't. Why? Because lol, that's why.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn I kinda agree it’s quite convenient for getting checkpoints but tbh they should just add checkpoints you can select from in game
Maybe having it so you get more loot and with double perks and maybe higher exotic drop chance for full runs is a good solution too
This way you can kill a boss real quick and maybe get an exotic or run the whole activity for better loot and a higher chance for exotic
Appealing to both people who wanna be quick and wanna do the whole raid
And also is a good deterrent for people who just join then leave once they get the checkpoint
I hate that so much but if they can just outright get the checkpoint it’ll happen significantly less often
Also for full runs it’s all in one go just so people can’t join then leave and still get full benefits
Only time they should is from if they disconnect
@@SepticEmpire Well, checkpoints are supposedly not being banned or punished, so that's no worry. But the greater problem is...Bungie is doing THIS, when a) their player counts are plummeting, b) they should be doing EVERYTHING in their power, like suggestions your making here, to make the game BETTER, and SMOOTHER for everyone, rather than bans and stingy reward systems.
Even bigger problem is...these issues have persisted for the better part of a decade, and shows how little Bungie is actually listening and/or learning from mistakes they themselves have made countless times.

Here's an idea. Just make exotic class items be like every other exotic armor in the game. Let them be focusable at rahool and let them be random drops for end of activity rewards. The End.
That makes too much sense.
Bungie is incapable of logic so they won't do this
I think they really thought the class exotic would force the like 80% of players that play totally solo to finally group and it just didn't happen and just created a feeling of being a second class citizen so now theres a pity exotic but still requires doing it once and i dont think most are going to do that. It should be the weekly reward for that Witness 8 man fight.
And the first descendant farms are relatively quick. It feels good to get right back in. Plus you are always getting other useful items
"If you're farming exotic class items maybe stop" = "If you're playing the game maybe stop"

It does not affect checkpoint bots

Not done dual destiny and I can't honestly say that I'm missing out especially when I look at the issues over the exotic class items.
Bungies priorities are so twisted. Have been for years. One step forward, two steps back
Bungie needs to sort themselves out. Steam population figures were 22k when I checked earlier today.
Probably double on each console, ie about 45-50k players. That's still ~110-120k players.
Unless we have reliable information on console player counts and the numbers have fallen, too?
As a console player, the player base on Xbox atleast has dropped massively, it can take 10 minutes to matchmake until pvp at low times in the day
@@sha1d01I'm confident it's the same on PlayStation.
Gotta love how devs think tedious grind is better for player retention than adding in fun or exciting things.
@@ogyonmastafluxthat's what they always have done. Business as usual.
If they added the legacy ff from the app, id agree but the new one is worse in everyway.
Fireteam finder lfg be like,
USE META LOAD OUTS , MUST BE RANK 10, CHILL
@@alphernJust using it to try and matchmake for EXPERT liminality nightfall last week was a terrible experience, with people quitting and acting like you need a totally meta build.
I see people in Lucky10p's video on this in support of the macro bans (the Bungie bootlickers) and I'm left in utter disbelief over the lack of common sense. They view macros as a cheat but they're actually VERY useful in improving the quality of a game.
Take FFXIV for example, macros are used in the crafting of higher level items because the higher your crafter's level, the more skills you use. I will send such an example of my macro for reference:
/ac Reflect
/ac Manipulation
/ac Innovation
/ac "Waste Not II"
/ac "Basic Touch"
/ac "Standard Touch"
/ac "Advanced Touch"
/ac Innovation
/ac "Basic Touch"
/ac "Standard Touch"
/ac "Advanced Touch"
/ac "Basic Touch"
/ac Innovation
/ac "Waste Not II"
/echo
This is my level 90 crafting macro for Blacksmith in FFXIV. every "/ac" input you see is an action input thats automatically registered once I select the option while crafting. The "/echo" input is a notification sound that plays to tell me that the macro has completed. Its effectively a QoL feature
I think it's pretty clear that Bungie was hoping the exotic class items would be the long-tail grind post final shape.
My opinion is that prismatic build-crafting is not as interesting as 3.0 subclass build-crafting.
subclass 3.0 is not interesting either
The System they implemented with Lightfall Was a literal downgrade, meant to sunset the old System and half of the mods.
So much for freedom of buildcrafting.
As a solo Titan
It wasnt the prismatic kit lacking, exotic class items locked, layoffs happening, scaled back content, or even no D3 in development.
"read the room at this point"
the people that were reading the room got fired
Lmao 🤣
Well I should have known . Bungo is the master of 1 step forward and 3 steps backward
It was said by bungie they are not easy to get and everyone cheered due to the hype train, now everybody cries after the hype died down...
@@Luckydave123 “everyone cheered”
Well no you are not everyone. This community has never agreed on anything and there is no one single voice for all players.
So no.
No class item, bought popcorn and watching this dumpster fire 🔥
I can't even get the first one that starts you off to get rolls of them; the light-level requirement is too high, and the puzzle element of it is too complex for my brain to grasp.
"I haven't played since the first day of solstice; I saw the armor grind and logged off"
Same. I just have no passion to play destiny at this point.
I love that they say he can't sell them every week because his will is not his own yet they have Hawkmoon permanently on sale. Ludicrous
How can we tank our game even more- 101, taught by Bungie
I feel like these class items are becoming more of a headache for both the game designers and players. Just rip the band-aid off and let us craft them so we don't have to dance back and forth with this anymore.
Well said.
They are kings of fixing what aint broken
Arrowheads taking notes
As long as you've done Dual Destiny once on your account, it should let you buy it for all characters.
I really hope this doesn't affect checkpoint bots
It does not... see Paul's pinned comment.
@@wolvesan His pinned comment was made 10 minutes after I commented this. So I didn't see the pinned commented.
Paul: Complains that crafting weapons is “ruining” the “chase” for random-roll outliers.
Also Paul: Complains about random-rolled armor that requires players to heavily grind for outlier items.
1000%. There are many like you. Forums twitter and these comments section prove that.
Bungie is being stubborn and stupid
The thing is the mission isn't good. I'm tired of everything having to be puzzles with this company.
I actually didn't know Xur would still only "randomly" sell exotic class items and that is F'ING WILD. What the ever living hell Bungie.
The only thing I can think of, this must be management directed decision. Keep players playing and hopefully buy something from the cash shop
Man switching over to First Descendant full time was quite the good choice. Uninstalled Destiny once the ship seemed to be sinking. Havent bothered to care for shit. This game is doomed. They fucked up and now their paying for it.
Same. Been extremely refreshing to see First Descendant devs listening to players. Also been enjoying back gaming catalog
Let Destiny sink. Its over.
Xur's exotic class items sales will not be limited to 1 per account, exotic ciphers ,which he can bring instead of exotic item, will
Direct quote from 08/15/2024 TWID: "Exotic Class Items on Xûr will cost 41 Strange Coins and will have random rolls .
As someone else said in another video (paraphrasing heavily here lmao):
Actual bugs/cheating exist: I sleep
Macro farming because rewards/RNG are crap: HOLY SHIT NUKE IT ALL TO HELL
Solo player posted again and threatened to leave, elite players told them “get gud, leave, it’s mmo we don’t want you”
Player numbers oddly dropped.
And now I’m happily playing other games. Well well well.
Bungie would rather saw its own foot off while smiling at you than just give people what they want.
Final shape was first dlc I didn't buy and I'm very happy...
My guardians will live forever in my memory.
its almost as if bungie is trying to further collapse the player base
I stopped playing for a long time… was asked to do the raid… and I couldn’t stay after because the game lacks in any sense of authenticity.
They really make it hard to want to play the game.
i finished all 3 solstice armor sets last week and have not touched the game since, the only thing i was doing before solstice was grinding the hunter class item. gj bungie! also, the two drops i did get after the "patch" were from random chests in the pale heart and not from overthrow
It’s SO weird how they’re just utterly unwilling to add at the very least, drop protection. They’re adding many other features that no one’s asking for, but just won’t add DP. It’s the weirdest thing, especially when they should be trying to retain players.
If Bungie is leaning on the ban hammer to discourage bot farms for class items, genuinely why did they also have to nerf the world chest rates?
