Some Issues with the 450MT

- This is the issues so far that are cropping up for some owners of the 450MT.
I must stress that this is only some owners and not an indication of issues with the 450MT. I have not had any of the issues identified in the video. I got the information from other users from the CFMOTO 450MT Australia Facebook page.
The only issue I have had is two of the rubber stoppers under the seat have fallen off and gone missing. I recommend you glue them in place (at least the two near the tank side of the seat) as mine are gone forever. Until i get the tall seat soon, so not too fussed!
I still recommend the 450MT any day of the week! - Авто/Мото
Can't take anyone seriously when they park in a handicapped zone lol. Sorry dude just stirring you!
Thanks for the vid.
I feel crippled by this comment. 😄
No troubles with mine. There are what I would call minor assembly issues, so it's worth going over everything, clutch adjustment and throttle freeplay for example. Good video.
Yeah that's right. Most dealers will happily look into the throttle free play as well, especially on the first service.
rule #1 when buying a new or second hand bike; don't trust the dealer or the seller and check everything yourself; something i always check on a 'new to me bike' is all the grease points; head-stem bearings; linkage bearings; axles and other pivot points; check all bolts; check all fluids; an afternoon spent working in the shed can save lots of money down the track and you get to know the bike.
Hey Outie, I have also done about 500km on my MT and haven't had any issues. Yes, the throttle is a little twitchy in first and second, but it is manageable. Love the power in third and forth!! Great short video!
Good to hear. You can adjust the tension in the throttle and it will ride a little better. Bazz 66 has a video on it. I did it but only had time to adjust the top cable not the bottom one. So when I get around to it I might have another go to do both. I tightened it up so I couldn't move the throttle with just an open index finger on it.
Great video, keep posting.
I will try my best
Did you just remove the new bashplate that you installed a few days ago?
This might be an older vid
Uploaded it out of order. Bash plate still on.
I removed that metal chain guard section when I first got the bike home, no marks on it. I could hear a metallic ting like something was loose and I could tilt that metal plate section up, as it is only held on one end and I thought it could be that moving a bit. Plus as it was easy for me to tilt up while it was stil screwed down I thought it was pointless. I haven't heard that noise again so I think that was it.
Could have been it. It does scrape the plastic a little so it was a bit rushed on the design side of things, as ADR was waiting for it for approval for Australian roads.
what forums are you looking at?
Aussie FB group for the 450mt
How is your throttle on low speeds? Smooth or twitchy?
Twitchy untill I adjusted and tightened the slack. But now still a little twitchy but vast improvement. Took 3 minutes to do and I followed bazz 66 video on how to do it.
@@outie555 I trust the owners manual address' how to adjust the throttle?
Forgot to say. I picked up my pre ordered taller seat today. I haven't ridden the bike with it but I am happy to report that the height is completely made with extra foam. Yes my bum will be happier to sit on that! It is also flatter so you are no longer locked into the one position. I was 181cm but last time the doctor measured me I had shrunk to 178cm. That was most likely from an impact fracture of my spine! I can still flat foot the ground so will give it a proper test this weekend.
I find the low seat is too cramped for me when sitting and a real sore point after 40 mins or more. I have not yet been on a comfortable standard motorcycle seat.
Just got my tall seat today and it's amazing and I feel less cramped on it.
That's good to know you can still flat foot it as I may try the higher seat . I don't like being stuck in one spot either. I am finding after over a 1000 ks I've done now the seat has sunk a little in the foam.
wowfish, how tall are you?
@@normananderson2583 178 cm or approx. 5' 10" or closer to 5' 9".
Parking spot checks out
fueling issue too that makes the bike stall which is quite common.
did you try to adjust throtle cable?
Mines never stalled but I do suggest tightening the throttle cable.
already did
Didn't have any of the listed issues, but I can report an issue where the windscreen will drop by itself back to the lower position, just while riding. Maybe just my bike, don't know, but it's a small issue (I can live with it). At 960km now so about to change the oil, bike is purring along fine at all speeds now, including 100 on the highways in 6th. There's buffeting on the helmet at speeds above 85, not sure where it comes from, seems to come from the side not the top, maybe from the forks area or the console, haven't pinpointed it yet.
Take it to the dealer maybe something's loose or broken on the mechanism since mine is quite firm.
@@aldrinmarquez7136 thanks for the feedback - mine is firm too (at the very top it's REAL firm) but it still drops. Not worth taking back to dealer - I can live with it.
I noticed the buffeting from the top. The old 660 xtz tenere had bad ( to me ) buffeting from wind coming up through the triple clamp area.
On the 450MT I also notice it coming from either side if I move my head too far out. Taller screen ordered which looks a bit wider too. And of course I get buffeting from the side if any cross wind but this has been for me on any bike with a screen.
My screen up and down is nice and firm so get yours checked.
Thanks for letting us know the issue. It's not an issue on mine but hopefully if it bothers you it can be easily fixed.
At Malaysia tropical country, CF led meter water went through, luckily under warranty.
Good they fixed it
Those sound more like minor assembly issues to me, the oil issue might be to improper level checking methodology, it's best to run the bike a bit, turn it off and let the oil settle, when the oil has not settled yet, the bike will probably look like it has not enough oil, it happens on my versys x300, and i can tell you that 100 ml make a huge difference in the oil level, so it's probably nothing to be worried about, specially since you will be using the bike just for a little bit before the first oil change.
I feel like you could be right. Like if it was a bigger issue more bikes would have the problem.
Don't leave the bike parked there, might get disabled 😋 Could have been early production issues, hopefully they've ironed out the bugs now for your bike's production.
Could have been. Let's hope so.
Can anyone convince me to get this over the 450SRS and why?
You can do sick jumps on it in the dirt and it looks like a big bike.
@@outie555 true, I have considered this. It's very good as an apocalypse vehicle. Damn man. This is making it harder to want to 450Srs
I don't get people, here's a guy trying to give you the 'heads up' on potential issues with this (not his, in case you can't f*cking read!) new bike, in case you're thinking of buying one. And all he gets for his efforts is grief from internet trolls. Turn the comments off mate and let them 'hate on' somebody else.
I don't get it either. I think some people just do it for attention.
All those issues you were referring to sound like piss poor dealers not doing dealer checks. Which I might add you do pay for. (Dealer Delivery Charges).
Yeah that could be it
Some people one don't lube there chain and two don't adjust there chain Outie! I have heard people say o and x ring chains don't need lubeing!
I oil mine with snake oil. 😂
Hearsay and not your own experience. Misleading title.
My 900km review will show what's gone wrong on my bike.
Click bait much.
A little bit it's still useful info for owners to check if they have the issue.
New to the game
Uneducated people telling a noob the issues of not checking and knowing stuff 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣🤣 and to not even do his own research 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Parking in a HC place lol that is not good hahaha!😆😆
Ok
Yet an other clickbate video. Shame on you for parking where you did.
Sorry for being disabled
If it's not confirmed, why do you spread the word?!
Because some people have the issue so it's better to be informed to check if other users have the same problem that some other owners have reported having.
Never buy new model from any mfg, car, bike, airplane, etc. Wait for 2nd gen. Should be much more reliable.
Life's too short
YOLO!
Your bike work perfectly but you are talking about some issue you heard about on the internet :) what a weird video
Ok
