    Hello Paul & Bea! Thank you for your videos. Very informative and interesting! I have some questions though, I hope you can answer. Thanks in advance!
    1. Do I need to learn Spanish first or can I learn there?
    2. What activities did you do in Spain for the 1st NLV & 2-yr NLV extension? Working is not allowed right?
    3. How much is the health insurance?
    4. How many months am I required to land in Spain after the 1st NLV approval?
    5. How long is the residency requirement for the 1yr NLV? How long is the residency for the 2yr renewed NLV for citizenship application?

      4. Depends on what dates are given in your Visa on your passport. Typically it's a 3 month visa - that's the window for you to arrive.

      @@EverythingIsBoffo I was about to send a message to bureaucracy but may be you know. We are a family of 3 and I have a shift job for 6/6 weeks in Canada. We are all Canadian citizens. If only my wife and daughter would apply for NLV could a husband's income in Canada be considered as passive income for the spouse? I am not applying for NLV. I can stay with my family for 6/6 weeks as Canadian citizens without a Schengen visa.

  • @annamayfair-diaznovelspoet8436

    Very informative video. It really answers a lot of the important questions of obtaining the NLV visa. Question: will my retirement US Social Security income be taxed by both countries countries when I file for my annual taxes with IRS & Spain plus what is the approximate tax percentage that Spain will charge on foreign income? The representative did answer that it is on an individual basis, but did not mention what is the tax percentage on income in Spain?
    Another, second question is if you do have a pre-existing condition can you just obtain a CIGNA global health insurance policy for the first year and pay monthly premiums that does cover the pre-existing condition for your first year after you obtain your non-lucrative visa or does it have to be a Spanish private company? The reason I ask is because you may not want to remain the entire year if things are not working out for you and avoid so much money upfront. And can I keep my savings in the US during my first year living in Spain to see how it works out? Thank you so much for all your efforts in helping us out here in California.

    Hi there, thanks for this video. I’m a Turkish citizen and planning to apply for non-lucrative visa. And again I couldn’t find a solid answer about renting situation. Should I understand that If I were an American, Canadian or Australian, I didn’t have to make a rent contract for a year. Just an airbnb would be enough. But I’m Turkish and I have to do that 12 months contract? My lawyer in Spain says it is mandatory. Also when you are not a Spanish citizen, home owners don’t trust you and they only rent their houses by taking 12 months rent. It is a big risk because the consultancy can decline your applications although you paid 12 months rent..

    Hi Paul and Bea, last week we had an appointment with the Spanish consulate in Mumbai. However, our NLV application was not accepted as we did not provide a proof of accommodation. Our immigration lawyer is based in Barcelona and she had informed us that proof of accommodation is not required, unless it is specifically mentioned on the Consulate’s website. There’s no mentioning of proof of accommodation on the website of the Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai. Yet, they refused to accept our application and advised us to come back with a proof of an Airbnb booking of atleast 30 nights.
    The problem is that we won’t be arriving in Spain until approx 3 months following our appointment date and house owners on Airbnb might not be willing to accept a booking 3 months in advance.

    • @EverythingIsBoffo
      @EverythingIsBoffo  Год назад +1

      Hi there! Great question. In order to apply for a non-lucrative visa in Spain, you will need to have a valid passport. However, there is no specific requirement for the passport to be valid for a minimum of twelve months. As long as your daughter's passport is valid at the time of application, you should be good to go.
      It's important to keep in mind that the non-lucrative visa application process can take several months, so it's a good idea to start the process as early as possible to ensure everything is in order before your planned move in October 2023. I hope this helps!

      This is not legal advice! From what we know and understand… You can change to permanent residency after 5 years of continuous living in Spain, provided that you stay 10 months a year in Spain. You can change to work visa anytime with a job offer and you meet the requirements. As for working outside of Spain, we don’t know if there’s a law against it. He has no savings but apparently a state pension or PIP is accepted ? Thats crazy. Also nobody has that amount of money we are told thats needed unless you are a lawyer or plastic surgeon. They have made it impossible!! Also the consultant advised me there is no need to have an entire years of medical insurance. The insurance company will tell you this because they know people will take out an insurance and then cancel it and get it cheaper once they have their residency. Why are we always allowed people to say this is that country and you have to get all of this evidence to come into a country which most people when thinking about going to another country would love anyways. You have to get pin pointed to get into any countries and get oin pointed when leaving a country. Please i am not having a go and anyone i am just trying toake sense of all of this . For example .... It was absolutely fine when you had a United Kingdom passport and you could go and travel and work any parts of Europe. Then came along Bexit which for what I understood we the people had really no voice to say here and now you cant work easily in the European anymore ... Its like when are we all going to wake up from this one world order where you mostly dont have choices in quite a lot things ... My point is we are all from one amazing beautiful place call Gaia .
