I'm rewatching a lot of your stuff. I laughed, "People in the 80's like to look at themselves." We were not at all that way in the 70's, few tattoos, no vivid coloured hair, usually brown, long and parted in the middle. Very little makeup, Lee or Levis jeans, and piercings just in the ears! So enjoy you George!
I miss the days of boxy, rectangular cars. They are a unique ride. I don't even have a garage, but instead, a carport. If I had the storage & means I would love to own that old Lincoln, and drive it around town for fun.
@@TheAntiqueNomad I know it’s not a easy go,,, but I pray you did well,,,,enjoy the palms and breeze.i lived in Florida in the 1980s, never got used to the climate or taste of the Floridian prefabricated appeal
Sir George, I've come to see how much work goes into the process of setting up an estate sale. I'm just setting up my first Market / Bazaar and am praying 🙏 I'm even partially up to your standards. You'll do fabulous as always. You never disappoint 😊 !
Good Lord!! The man hours. Question: Do you remember the brand of the small sound board? The price of that house on the canal is 1/3rd the price here 😯. I had a corner shelf black deco revival curved glass cabinet in the 80s!! Thank you for a behind the scenes field trip 👍❤️
Wow! Amazing, exhausting and rewarding. I don't know if I could keep the smile on my face like you do, even know I love discovering treasures😁 Good luck! I hope you make at on of $$$$$$. I thoroughly enjoy your videos!!! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!
I absolutely LOVE your channel. I found you from Crazy Lamp Lady’s channel. I’ve got my Mom (who can’t get out much anymore) watching you and she loves learning more about antiques or just older things..... so thank you for what you do!!! So glad to have found you. I’m catching up on all of your videos 😊
George, have you ever been to The Brimfield Flea Market in Massachusetts? It is miles long. I know you travel, but didn't know if you traveled that far.
It was so great to meet you George and you did a wonderful job with the sale! It was so crowded when I was there. Hope you were happy with the results! I LOVE my pelican painting, so glad I got there before it was sold!! It looks great against the gray walls in our condo and I had the perfect spot for it. I also bought a nice French press, some serrated knives and a couple hooks, all of which I actually needed. Thanks again for all of your terrific videos, I can't believe how much I've learned from the last few months of watching!! Happy holidays!
I'm so excited you got it! I'm glad you had fun at the sale! I think I said the wrong viewer name in the video because I figure people can maintain anonymity

I always love walking into a vintage 80s style estate. This one looks very nice. Love all the deco and lacquered furniture. Takes me back. Would love to see the clothes and accessories, hope you show some. 😎
Over 300 labor hours. Wow! And I thought my 100+ hours was a lot! There definitely was more stuff in this sale than at my parents' estate. If I had a nickel for every estate sale that I went to that had a chirping smoke alarm, I'd be rich, lol.
Ha! I agree. I'm so glad I could help you with your folks' estate and believe me, 100 hours is a ton, that's about how many I worked on this sale myself.
showcase at my last sale...had the exact same manufacturer...2:45.....it was three separate pieces making up a wall unit....all 3 lit up...all glass doors...same color and hinges...even a drop down mirrored door with a lighted bar area.....I thought it was incredible....at the sale there was zero interest....mild interest listed on fakebook marketplace afterward and a crazy low price...the house sold and I ended giving the units away to a 2nd hand charity shop because they had 2 men and a truck that could take it away.....shame really....would have looked awesome in an uptown condo in nearby Charlotte NC.
Did they have anything left to take with them? That's a lot of beautiful things left behind. Do they have any cutco cutlery? I would be interested in that. Thanks George for bringing us along.
I would totally hire you to hold my estate sale. I see so many sales in Kansas City being held by companies who don't necessarily know how to price items for most profit.
That's so kind! I have to say I thought prices at the estate sales I hit in KC were low, considering it's a big metro area with a rather wealthy section (Country Club). I was a happy buyer though!
I watched your series on periscope. Why didn't you have more than one weekend sale with the amt. Of items. I look at all they collected and can't believe the amount of wasted money. Just my opinion. Thank for the info. Merry Christmas
George, have you ever refused to do a sale? Are there times when the amount of work just exceeds the value of the stuff and doing a sale just isn't worth your time?
Often! I have a minimum, if I can't see that much potential when I walk through I turn it down. With hoarders, there has to be extra incentive (here it was the car) or a lot of potential
George i have a gerda Gerdago lamp that is worth too much to just leave in my booth I'm not very good with tech and I have no interest in keeping it any thoughts I'm afraid it will get broken in my booth
Gerdago lamps are good sellers. Are you willing to ship? You might sell online, or ask your mall to put it at the counter for sale in a safe place and to promote it on their social media

If there's a lot of the same thing, then I might waive my rule about not pre-buying; but my feeling is that I'm there to sell to other resellers and not cherry-pick the best stuff, I do get a commission for what I sell so it's only right to let other people see it. Besides, a ton of dealers show up at my sales because they know I don't take out all the good stuff before they get there
