I have a 2023 Kona N-Line Ultimate and it isn't as race forward as this model and has less horsepower but it's so much fun and super zippy. In sports mode, it really goes and it's light so the power and zippiness really shines through. Love it
You're on the cusp of becoming my favourite RUclips car reviewer, methinks. This looks a hoot. We are now starting to see the fruits of the spoils when you lure the Head of BMW's M Division to set up Hyundai's N equivalent.
"Twisty road ahead, do you want to put a car into an N mode?" In a time when every other automaker would switch every bloody safety mode imaginable or turn the car off, just to be sure.. Gotta give it to Hyundai, that's amazing!
A vehicle I totally don't need, and would likely draw a lot of unwanted attention to myself, yet I want one so bad. You made the Kona N look like a total blast with yet a side of practicality any enthusiast who doesn't need such a vehicle would still want. Bravo!
Something nice Love that it asks you if you want to put it in N mode as there are corners coming up, that's brilliant Hyundai/kia have come a very long way in the past 15 or so years, give it another decade and I'll reckon they will be one of the top manufacturers kind of like how Toyota is
Love your reviews mate and your content is good, but you might wanna speak a bit slower and clearer. In some parts you're rambling and it's really hard to hear. That said you're doing a good job and keep up the good work.
Lucky Brits can get this vehicle with cooled seats, heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control... comfort/convenience features that U.S. buyers are denied for some reason. I would order those options if reasonably priced. :(
All DCT standards(0->100km/h) : veloster N or i30 N 5.6, kona N 5.5, Elantra N 5.3 seconds released by Hyundai officially in S.Korea among Elantra N press driving events in recently 😀🥰😍🤩
Nope we get a stripped down model :( with only heated seats no heated wheel lots of buttons missing on the console didn't even see the read out on the top of the dash sad they did that.
Still struggling to see the point of this - it's closer in size to the i20N (boot is only 10l bigger and I think the i20 looks like it actually has MORE room in the back seats), and it's the same price as the much more practical i30N... It should have been priced at £30k, had an uprated i20N drivetrain (230-240hp) and filled the middle ground between the 2 hatchbacks and been a proper competitor to the Puma ST.
In the US market this makes a lot of sense as we don't get the i20N and the Veloster N is pretty compromised for daily driving if you've got kids or dogs, etc...
i have questions because i have all sorts of aches and pains, are those seats as comfy as the look and is it smooth over out 'worst in the world' uk roads?
Would be cool if the car had 4wd and about 8 inches of ride height. Basically a little bit more explicitly gravel-road friendly. Even in fwd, I wish the N series would eventually have something with a truck bed just for laughs.
Comment for the algorithm. Also, I slid into your DMs on Instagram last week. But maybe I shall just ask this here "Hey Tim! I’m a big fan of your RUclips channel. Ignore my question if you’re super busy, I’m sure you get this all the time. I recently killed my Volvo C30 because I drove through a flood, R.I.P Volvie. Without sounding like Doug Demuro, I like a quirky car. Hence the c30. I’m now thinking of getting another vehicle. After seriously considering a Panda 4x4 I decided to probably go for a mini clubman Cooper S. I got a budget of around £4.5k which is a stretch for a Cooper S. What are your thoughts?"
For that money it'd be the weird 3-door one with the door on the wrong side for the pavement in the UK. On the other hand I bloody love a Panda 4x4… so I'd go panda.
Love this car and this review… just a comment about pronunciation (I know Brit’s think those of us English speakers outside of the island don’t know the mother tongue well) but it is poo-ma not pee-ewu-ma
Thanks for the kind words! But Brits don’t pronounce it like Americans 😂 This would be like me complaining on an American video that they’re saying aluminium incorrectly. I understand that different countries pronounce things differently…
This is a $35k BP car which equates to roughly $50k USD. Pfft...Maybe $40k at most...It's going to sit in lots for that pricing. I'll get a Genesis for that price.
Joining the Kona name gags... In portuguese it reads the same as a "not that politically correct" name for a lady's vagina. That is why in Portugal it's called the Kawai -.-' Similar story to the Pajero in Spain i think xD

Top review Tim! Kona N looks like a blast...
This vehicle should be reclassified as a 'hatchback' IMO.
true but its kinda in between a suv and hatch in terms of size
CUV Compact utility vehicle.
Great review, I was worried about the suspesion being too stiff on our roads, but sounds like it normal mode it will be fine.
It’s pretty stiff even on normal mode, but not too hard
@@clemens2098 I love it, it has character; on my own custom mode it is good fun! Ok, as you say pretty stiff but not uncompromising, love it!
You are a superb reviewer, one of the best👍

How hard are you working at the moment? Good effort sir. Always enjoy your content.

I’m so fucking proud of them!! Been a fan for a long time, always saw a lot of potential 💞
looks to be a Mini without all the maintenance and repairs.
Hopefully this September will be in the market in the US
I have a kona 64 electric and that thing is very nippy catches so many folk out
Which country is it? I see you have all buttons filled around gearbox but in other videos I see 3 of the bottom ones are empty.
Great review!

Noted! I am a mumbler
Great Video , keep up the good work!
Great video I've got a puma st at the moment what would you have kona or puma st ?
I don't think I'm the only person wishing the Kona N came with a 6 speed
Elantra N will come with a 6 speed
I would be perfectly fine with all the "Kona" jokes !! LOL
Lucky Brits can get this vehicle with cooled seats, heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control... comfort/convenience features that U.S. buyers are denied for some reason. I would order those options if reasonably priced. :(
Seen 3 for sell in Arizona all stripped down models. Not sure if the US will ever get a fully loaded model.
What about the Premium upgrade ? ..We've got it here in Australia
@@xtremegamer78 nothing, you select from 3 colors and can add accessories, that’s it.
This is about the same price as your old Mini daily isn’t it?
I think I’d prefer this.
Two videos in one day!
Hardest working Tim on the Tubes 😱
Love your reviews
Now that looks awesome - apart from the double rear light configuration! Did you say it’s blue and red??? Is it not white? 🤣
its ''sonic blue'' not the famous ''performance blue'' which is already very light
I see bright white…..
What's this "Puma ST" you keep comparing the Kona N to?
Shame it hasn’t got a pan roof as it comes with everything else. Enjoyed review, good stuff.
All DCT standards(0->100km/h) : veloster N or i30 N 5.6, kona N 5.5, Elantra N 5.3 seconds released by Hyundai officially in S.Korea among Elantra N press driving events in recently 😀🥰😍🤩
So veloster n is the slowest? Weird
A reviewer got the Kona to do 5.1 0 to 60.
@@cindysue5474 People are now having high 4s with superb condition
@@irockz9723 You have a link to that interesting.
Here I was for the last 41 years thinking White was blue!! Who would have known!
This or a puma st ??
Great looking car!
I hope we get the ventilated seats option in the US
Nope we get a stripped down model :( with only heated seats no heated wheel lots of buttons missing on the console didn't even see the read out on the top of the dash sad they did that.
I’m surprised you said the exhaust sound was nothing special and that the infotainment was laggy as all the other reviewers have said the opposite.
No Hud?
Should I get a Kona N or a Puma ST? 🤔
Kona… but it is loads more money!
Sir that car is white...
Something nice 🤷♂️😉🤣, good review mate.
This looks great
Anyone else seeing it white? 😅
Even the standard Kona is a delight to throw into corners. Standard 235 section tyres stay flat on the road.

mine have adjustable lumbar support, it is fine with that (also have a bad back)
@@gabox01 thanks for that, but i ended up going for the electric model instead, had it a month now, love it
Would buy if white, but not that incipient blue.
Come on Hyundai a potential customer here! ( actually the wife wants only white)
I just checked - it comes in white too! At least in the UK. It’s called Atlas White.
Would be cool if the car had 4wd and about 8 inches of ride height. Basically a little bit more explicitly gravel-road friendly. Even in fwd, I wish the N series would eventually have something with a truck bed just for laughs.
Possibly an N version of the Hyundai Santa Cruz? I'm down for that!
Is that your real voice?
Good review. I'd love to get the N version of the kona. And yes it's blue. All N cars are blue I think. The camera's dynamic range at fault here.
The camera's fine… it's just my grading 😂 It's a very pale blue
Does it come in a manual?
no
Tachometer. Tachograph is a system that records trip to trip driving/engine performance - a sleeping type policeman.
This guys. Voice is awesome. He should do ASMR.
There's a sub-channel I didn't know I wanted to do
How much is this in US $?
35k USD
Blue ? I'm seeing an off white ?
It's called sonicblue in S.Korea, it's signature color for Kona N 🥰😍🤩☺
It's a very pale blue

You look like Pierre Woodman.
Look into color correction on your videos. The car looks white not blue.
It looks cool but the bottom head and tail lights just ruin it
Would some just put a Vbox on the Elantra and Kona N already 🤦♂️
Ok.... "You are something nice".
I like it
But we d have it black as too many parts different colours
But just my opinion

Americans.... Ruining the English language at every opportunity they can. Ask one to say Mazda and they'll say mar-z-da

3 in Az. around $35.450 but all stripped down models missing a lot of options.
