ABOUT THIS VIDEO: I WISH I KNEW THIS BEFORE STARTING MY PLANT COLLECTION!
In this video, I share 4 things I wish I knew before starting my plant collection. If you are starting a plant collection yourself, congratulations! A plant journey is full of growth (pun intended :)) and joy! I hope you enjoy this video and welcome to the plant community!! These tips are especially on houseplants for beginners and if you are looking how to care for houseplants, watch this!
Great video! Just to follow on from your first plant, it's probably a good idea for your next plant to have similar requirements. Maybe the type of soil so you're not buying lots of different soils for the different plants. Grow your collection and their accessories a bit at a time to save money.
Ah ! This is such a great point 💚 thank you for sharing Janet 😊😊🪴!
Your advice, “Start with only ONE plant” is the golden rule
The pest tip is the best! Thank you Lucia
haha YES! It is good to always prevent them ! :)
I like 👍 your videos and plants
yes yes yes!! I am at fault of the first one, every time I get excited about anything, I would get all the different things of whatever I will be doing at once!! And not only with plants, but with any new project or hobby that is such a good advice, just get one start with one and once you feel comfortable move on to more :) thank you Lucia sooo true
Hii! You are right ! This can be applied in may other areas 💚💚💚
just about two weeks into my plant journey and i wish i knew this before i started! 😄🌿🙏🏼
Thank you so much for the mention! What a great video, and I would definitely tell my “new plant parent self” all of these things! ☺️🧡
Happy planting!!!
OF COURSE! I love your channel and your personality!
Hopefully one day we meet and do plant things together 💚😊
I have 12 plants & they all have the same requirements, they are low light tolerant & like to dry out between watering & average humidity. They are all in front of my windows with a sheer curtain. I live in Florida & I’m glad I researched all of their requirements before I got them. I would never buy a plant that needed watering all the time or super high humidity. I want my plants to all do well. I wanted Hoya so bad, but I know that the one I want isn’t fit for the space I have for it & I don’t want to see a plant not thrive. Great tips btw. I have one plant that I got from a friend that lived outside, a spider plant, I just planted it from her “baby” & it’s quarantined in case there are any critters I can’t see right now.
Yes! I remember when I started collecting several years ago and I left a peace lily outside in full sun to get some light. 🙃🤦🏾♀️ 😭that did not turn out well as one could imagine. 😂
Also, that croton back there is GORGEOUS!
Thank you!!! Super helpful as always
This is great advice! I want to be a plant mama! 🌱
This is a perfect video for everyone.. I get greedy and get so many and then get overwhelmed 😞
I totally understand! It happened to me too haha
So happy you liked the video dear friend!
You could not have said it better! Thanks for sharing. I went spending money on costly plants that ended up dying. I did a lot of research before purchasing but did not have luck with some.
Hi! That happens for sure 💚 it is a step by step process 😊 I hope you are finding the way and let me know if you have any questions 🥰
Thanks!!!!
I agree with EVERYTHING ! I had the same exact trajectory as you!
haha yaay! Thank you so much! It is nice to see other people had a similar path haha !
I have many plants an thier lots of work also lots of fun seeing them grow however these tips r really good thanks sweet lady..:)
Yay you are very welcome 💚💚💚
Please make a video about people that have to move and want to take their plants with them! Please!
Hi ! I’ll add it to the list 😉
I really enjoy the FB plant groups that "Shame" dying/dead plants out of frustration and humor. Sometimes you just gotta start over.
Lol those groups are the best 😂
I need to look that up on behalf of my fern, my white fusion, and literally anything that needs lots of humidity or shit tons of sun🤣
I always had plants for as long as I could remember and treated them all the same. Lost many. It has been recently that I learned that some need more humidity and not to water all my plants everyday. I now look up their carebrequirements to make sure I can provide for their needs.
This is so great ! I think it’s really the best feeling when we figure out new things with our plants 💚😊
@@PlantsandLucia absolutely 😊

I love your channel! I have learned so much with you ☺️ thank you 🙏🙏🙏 I will like to ask for tips and everything to do with repotting! I think it should be done before or at the begging of spring but if you could make a video about this in the next months would be amazing 🧡🌿
Thanks for the information, very good!
Thank you for watching Ines! So happy you liked the video 💚
I only have a few plants but these tips are still helpful! I am waiting for the warmer weather before buying more plants as I continue to learn what each of my current plants need. Your videos are informative and enjoyable. Love your beautiful, warm personality! 🥰
Thank you so much!!! This is such a kind comment and I am so happy you like the videos 😊 Sending a big hug and let me know how it goes with your collection 💚💚
Thank you for this imformation .i just started growing some succlulent plants and i loved your video about zebra plant tips .you are so energitic ,cool and chearful.
So happy you like the videos 💚! Let me know how it goes with your zebra plant 😊
I like to add one more tip. Don't start with super rare exotic plant. It's better to begin with more common indoor plants like dumb cane, snake plant, etc. Also these common plants are sold in most big stores from ikea to home depo for a very affordable price.
This is a great insight! Common plants are beautiful too and I'd say as interesting as the 'rare' ones :-) Thank you for sharing !
💚

Bons conselhos para iniciantes em cuidados com suas plantas. Melhor ter uma planta bem cuidada do que mil sem cuidado algum, pelo menos sem o minimo necesário!
Hi Lucia! Do you cut the roots of your tropical plants when you repot them?
hi. quantity of soap, water and oil pls? :)
You can find the recipe here ➡️ ruclips.net/video/m1hJW9CejSA/видео.html
What kind of pest is that at 3:35?
Those are thrips (more specifically, thrip larvae) on our monstera :(
We finally got it under control though :)
