Hi from Vancouver BC. I have 4 of the mandarin (fireflash) plants. I discovered this year that the 3 older ones that are on my closed in deck had flowered with a big (2-4”) rather ugly flower. I left them on the plants and let the seed pods on the flower dry up. When they became almost black I started shaking them onto paper and discovered hundreds of tiny seeds. I haven’t started any seeds yet because I thought I’d wait til spring to give them a better chance. So, if you can, let your fireflash plants get older and a bit leggy and they will reward you! Thanks for the video!

I have been upping my spider plant game. I agree they are overlooked! I know they are basic, but the huge ones are MAJESTIC! I picked up an 8" pot with two large solid green ones at a church rummage sale. I decided to repot it into two. It was solid root blobs and instead of soil, it was potted in what looked like straight sand. The poor plant! I gave it some good potting mix and compost and I bet both look amazing in a month. I can't believe they looked as reasonable as they did in SAND. Proof you can't kill these things - unless you forget them outside and they freeze.

Thank you for the info. I have always had at least 1 spider plant in my plant collection. I did purchase a mandarin spider plant, not knowing that it was a spin off of the spider plant. I love the orange center. I did almost kill one by giving it full sunlight and all I had was stubs. I have cut it down, so just the orange was left, and planted in with my new one, and I believe it will be a vet full plant. I needed growing tips which I got from your vast knowledge. So thanks. But I will do a photo compilation over what I got atm. very soon so all of you will see them all I got anyway.

I have 11 commercially named and produced varieties (and some mutations) very soon, just awaiting Lemon and Ocean. My collection is the European version, but I heard that USA ppl can, with some research, get their hands on every one nowadays. Please come over, comment and share your thoughts when it is up. When I did the research for this video I'm afraid the list only was a list, it didn't give the filtering amount. That's on me.
