I don't know what it is about a bull elk bugling in the wild, but even if you've never hunted, that sound just taps into the primal hunter in your genes from eons back.
Good video, great action and clear bugling , don't think that bull taken was near 7 or 8 years old but the area has obliviously plenty of bulls, getting a second arrow in is always the best if possible, but the reaction after the shot was more like a rifle reaction, I have taken eleven bulls by bow, all public land as well being present as a helper for others, and never once known its a sure kill within seconds of the shot, seemed strange

First off I loved the video and could only dream to be around that many elk. However wow the guides bugles could have been the worst I have ever heard in a video. I like the cow calls but YIKES being a guide invest in some gear :) although with thatany elk I guess it is not necessary :) not trying to be an ass just was taken back with that
Matt who was filming couldn't stand up when the Bulls came in to fight because we were behind some shrubs with no leaves. He was hunkered down behind us and didn't want to blow the situation.

That harvesting a mature bull thing is a load of crap lol. Your on a ranch and of course they want you to shoot the bigger bulls so they continue to have big bulls in the future. I get you having to make the point so you don't look like a trophy hunter even tho you paid way to much for a elk hunt and you won't shoot a 320 just for that reason alone

I only am knocking the fact that a blatant lie has to be said in the video to justify the fact why 300 class bulls get a free pass instead of a arrow. If I was in his shoes I'd be doing the same thing.
I've done public too and totally agree with you. It's a totally different deal. I would have shot ANY of those bulls on public land. My first bull was public OTC in Idaho and it's still my favorite.
If you all have not seen a documentary called...... It's worse than you think.. by revelations of Jesus Christ ministries... I suggest you do .all praise and glory to the most high Jesus Christ

Letting an animal suffer longer than it has to is wrong in my opinion.
Todd: The longer the animal is stressed the more it floods its muscles with adrenaline. Faster kill = better meat. Read a book.
