Emmitt haters are really just Cowboys haters. They’ll tell you Troy Aikman has no business being in the hall of fame, but when it comes to Emmitt those same people will say he had an amazing hall of fame quarterback. 🤣

The GOAT! If you want to argue otherwise then show me the numbers. All-time rushing yardage leader. All-time rushing TD leader (2nd overall to Jerry Rice). 4 time rushing champ. League MVP. 3 time Superbowl Champion. Another season's worth of games, yardage and TDs in the playoffs. 11 straight 1,000 yard seasons! He did it with a good offensive line and Moose blocking for him, and he did it after Jones fired Jimmy Johnson and couldn't figure out the cap so the Cowboys were pretty terrible. And he never, at any level, had a game for zero yards when he got at least 1 carry (looking at you Barry Sanders and your 13 carry, zero yards in the playoff game)!
Brown quit at the top. Sanders quit while the game was still easy. Emmitt kept churning out good yardage after age 30 when most RBs are cooked.
Emmitt Smith is undeniably the GOAT!

People who says Sanders was so much better than Smith have never really watched him closely. Sure, Smith had the better line and Barry was quicker, but Smith still had all the moves. He was a very smooth runner, fast, hard to tackle, and elusive. Smith was the best all around.

O-line O-LINE, Cowboys Line was made of 3rd Rd pick, trade from raiders for 5th Rd pick, 7th Rd, and undrafted free agent... Emmitt sat for 2 games waiting for bitch Jerry to sign him and boys were 0-2

  • @francistervil4057
    @francistervil4057 6 лет назад +19

Emmitt wasn't the fastest or the most elusive running back, but he could do it all. He was fast enough to run away from defensive backs, he was very tough to play while hurt, he was very good blocker to block blitzing linebackers, he had good hands to catch the ball, he was very elusive to break tackles and very strong to take hard hits and used the stiff arm very well. Barry Sanders is by far the most elusive running back, but Emmitt Smith had great running vision. Of course, Emmitt played behind a great o-line and one of the best blocking fullback. But, that doesn't change the fact that Emmitt was a great runningback.

His offensive line made him great really? In high school in Florida , rush for over 8,000 yards . voted in Florida player of the year. College at Florida , 3 years , rush over 3,930 yards , 5 games over 200 yards, and a 316 yard game average 5.6 a carry a game. Now he the best in pros because he got a line really? He was already great. At 5 feet 9 inches, 210 pounds, Jimmy Johnson, had to convince Jerry Jones, he show him how great he was in high school, how great he was at Florida, , even ask Michael irvin , this is well documented, he the game i watch him at Florida he was average 200 yards a game, but irvin said i think he is to slow for the n.f.l. Google for yourself, 12 years later, 18,000 yards later . no 1 rusher ever. Tell me i am wrong,? Elusive, breaking ankles, great blocker, good pass reciever out the back fleid, with out emmitt, this would never work , with out troy, this never works, with out irvin this never works. No 1. With out Jimmy Johnson . and Jerry Jones , who let Jimmy put the work in.

Don't recall which game, but Emmitt Smith remarked on one game that the Cowboys trailed at halftime after a bad first half. They came out to receive the 2nd half kick-off and ran eight straight running plays. That's making a statement.

Well the Lions did make the playoffs 5 times in 7 years between 1991-97 so that’s not technically true. Barry definitely wasn’t as good against tougher competition in the playoffs though. In fact he was downright awful in road playoff games when he didn’t have his dome turf.

@@Supermanfan99 Good point, I appreciate the RB position the most, I feel that Barry's O-Line being injured early in his career and his front office not building around him enough, was a main factor in his lack luster playoff success.

I truly don't understand the Barry vs Emmitt debate. There is no question Emmitt was better in...
    getting first downs
    getting touchdowns
    blocking
    receiving
    ball control
    wearing out defenses.
The facet of the game where you could argue Barry was better was getting yards between the 20s.
In spite of Barry's ability to gain yardage Emmitt still won four rushing titles against him head to head and of course ended up with more career yardage.
So why exactly do people think Barry was better?
