What fabulous fish / wild brown trout fishing on your local river!...a real red letter day !...thanks for taking us along...and sharing helpful info/tips on your techniques...appreciate it...may I ask what landing nets you gents were using, please?
Thank you watching and giving great feedback sir!🙂🙏🏻 our nets are modified like most of our gear it is a McLean weigh net handle but with a (coarse fishing) 20” Preston rim and net which suits competition fishing better on rivers as the net is not as deep and is slightly better for not getting your hooks caught in 👌🏻
Certainly was on fire Luke.Lot of quality fish there mate. Both methods working equally there, nymphs and drys.Looks like you had a brilliant couple of hours, nice video Luke.👍
Wonderful to see a 'valleys' river with such trout and ably caught. I remember the Ebbw fifty years ago a stinking grey flow. Well done lads. I live in New Zealand and am somewhat envious.
Thanks for watching and commentating 🙏🏻 - That’s right they used to call it the black river I think, it’s sure has a made a miraculous come back goes to show how great nature can be but I do love these post industrial welsh rivers! I feel the same when I watch videos of NZ fishing is it as good as it looks?😜🙏🏻
New Zealand is great. UNfortunately, due to a boom in dairy farming, many lowland rivers are depleted of water and smaller streams are now dry. There's still good fishing to be had but not always on your doorstep, like it used to be. @@Full_on_flyfishing
Thank you for watching and commenting much appreciated 🙏🏻 it’s hanak www.buzzzflyfishing.co.uk/product/hanak-competition-bicolour-indicator-line-yellow-black/ 👌🏻
Thanks for that, I am currently using the Hanak competition leader, all yellow until the sighter, I might get a black marker pen on it.@@Full_on_flyfishing
@@Full_on_flyfishing couldn’t you just have stashed it on you and disposed of it properly? I thought we were custodians of the rivers? This seems like madness to pollute the river we love?
Thanks for watching and give good feedback much appreciated🙏🏻 the flies are size 18 & 20 split wing dry flies take a look at instagram.com/everythingflyfishingwales?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== my mate sparky he tied them for me quills and olives 👌🏻

Am I mistaken or did you just chuck that broken rod alarm into our beautiful (and already filled with rubbish) Afon Ebbw?
Yeah rather that then poachers using it
