It works at 44.1 because like he explained, it has to do with what happens at audible frequencies using the far edge of the 40k curve. So a 10db increase at the inaudible 40k has a curve that will be raising the highest of the audible frequencies by a smaller amount.
I believe these are different frequencies for different uses… like quality per second of the waves oscillating versus the plugin going at 40k for its pitch.

@@lkb3rdHe’s asking a different question… whether or not the kHz quality of a CD for example can contain pitches this high.
