Another excellent video. Thanks again for sharing. Glad your companions did well on the hike. It was a pleasure meeting you at Expo West. Thanks for taking some time to chat and tolerating me for a photo. Haha. Seriously, appreciate what you do and it was great to meet you. Hopefully our paths will cross again. Safe travels.
The graphics on the truck look great with dirt! Your dogs look like they're having a great time. Beautiful footage and great production as always. Thanks!
Great video. Looks like the fur babies have a lot of fun. Great to see you help them out over the log. Yah.. Wheeler is a bit chunky. Great sceneries. Thanks
Another great video! Love the photo you took, love the river, the music, and I especially think it's cool that the dogs seem so much younger than they are. The lifestyle looks great on all three of you!
Great video Jason, just love seeing Daisy and Wheeler out hiking with you, does my old heart good. I had to put both of mine (Codyboy & Zoey) down last week, I had them for seventeen years, hasn’t been a good week for me, and I did really need to see this video. Thanks Brother
Randy, please believe me when I say I am so sorry that you lost Codyboy and Zoey. It seems like no matter how many years we have with our dogs, it is never long enough. I know that Daisy and Wheeler are getting up there in age and that nothing is guaranteed and it makes me remember something I once read called "The Reason Why Dogs Don't Live As Long As People According to a 6 Year Old: People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life. Like, loving everybody all the time and being nice. Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long". I am so honored that my video brought you some sort of enjoyment during this tough time and again am truly sorry.
This is a great video, I would love to see you get back to basics. Working on the van is interesting, but this is inspiring. And the cinematography and music is terrific.
I just wanted to thank you and your sponsors for these outstanding videos. That said you're pretty close to my neck of the Woods. Hells Canyon runs through Idaho as well as Oregon and the Snake River is awesome place for the Outdoors Man...
Hello my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing another one of your fine videos. You always do an amazing job of filming. You have a lot of compassion for your two dogs. Be safe out there. Enjoy. 🤗
First time watcher here...your site just popped out on my lap top. I'm going camping next week, but feel a little down physically so the trip ( with my brother & grandson ) might be a bit melancholic...just told my wife that I'm not sure I want to go. Your video has influenced me deeply...the videography is excellent, your dogs are wonderful and I think you changed my mind. Tomorrow I'll start getting the vehicle ready and tonight I called my daughter regarding equipment needs. Thank you, really.
Hi There. That is great to hear! While I hope you all have a wonderful time, remember to listen to your body if you are feeling physically down. I know on this trip I had to listen to mine and keep an eye on the pups to track how they were doing. Sometimes slow and steady is the way to go.
That fist photo at 10:46 Wow does that color pop!!! I really enjoy the slow mo scene of the camp site, it's just relaxing to watch. Good to see you and dogs out for a bit of a walk.
Sir, you are a saint to your pups. Good to see you all enjoying the outdoors and sharing your adventures with us. Take some time off, raise the Flag, and observe those not with us anymore this Memorial Day weekend. I'm home and staying off the highways this weekend. If you must travel, be safe. Pete - KI7LIL
Thanks, Peter. I enjoy every minute I have with them and try to give them the best life possible. I am exploring in Utah at the moment and plan to enjoy the weekend with Steve from Drifter Trailers who delivered my new trailer at Expo. Enjoy the weekend and be safe as well.
This channel deserves way more subs Jason. I love the slow shots of quiet moments or what to some people would seem mundane even, goes to show you truly appreciate every moment outdoors as do I. Great work.
My dog's are 16 and 12. Mine still run with me about 1/4 mile each way to my mailbox. I used to run in 3rd gear following them. Now it's 1st with a little second these days. I'm going to start mine on cbd pain chews payday. Keep making your videos!
Thanks Jason for a quick look at one of my favorite places to go camping. My nephew is one of the many that horse pack and sets up camp bow hunting for elk . The Kia is looking like it fits in well in the forest. Daisy and Wheeler are looking like they're enjoying getting out for the hike. I've been waiting for your take on the Solo.
Hi Dave, I am glad you enjoyed the video. The Kia is doing well...I am really impressed with her capabilities. Daisy and Wheeler were thrilled to be back hiking in the good weather again...I know it is something we will do quite a bit of this season. I am still coming off my Expo trip and am exploring Utah for a bit...but once I get back I will start working on a review of the Solo. I am really enjoying it so far.
Another nice video Jason, as always I loved the music and the videography...you have a great eye! Also, I really enjoyed the footage of the dogs as they were on the trail and as they slept. You take really good care of them and that says a lot about you and your character. Thanks fr posting, I missed seeing new vids from you.
Thanks, Jonathan. I am really pleased with how it turned out. It looks great and performs amazingly well. I can't wait to share some of the footage I am collecting as we speak in Utah!
You were in my neck of the woods. As I watched I was wondering what campground and trail head did you use? It looked like it might be Freeze Out Saddle Trail Head. I haven't been up there in a few years. Then in your video you stated it was, in fact, Freeze Out Saddle. I once took the trail over the pass and went down to the Snake River at the bottom of Hell's Canyon. It was Labor Day and still 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Hell's Canyon is aptly named. Nice video man. Thanks.
Thanks, Rodney. I love that area and look forward to my annual trips with my buddy. It is a beautiful place...almost hard to describe to those who have not been there just how amazing it is.
@@PrimalOutdoors Yes very much.... Took my jeep to the office today. Normally 40 minutes. Took the back roads of the central coast of California. Two and half hours later I made it. Haha It's a great day.
That was awesome! When you had the drone up on your hike, I said that's a good shot right about...there...and shoot, then your drone camera goes click. I said see, he heard me lol
Like the Solo Stove...would be nice to open a door sorta thing to get more direct heat instead of just off the top of it. Thinking of trying a old clothes washer with stainless drum and try that. Not the same I know wont have the air and re-burn the Solo has...worth a try.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos! Wondering how you pull off the aerial footage of you driving the Kia. I know it’s gotta be drone work but how do you do it being a one man operation?
Scenic as usual. I thought that picture of the hillside was pretty. Now for a couple side observations. I personally think I would have rather heard the natural sounds than the music. Or at least had the music volume lower. Having said that it is YOUR channel and YOUR choice. I also ain't sure whether or not anybody else has the same preference as I do. Also your video's especially this one makes me wish I was still young and skinny. As for the dogs, have you considered having them help you train a younger dog for when they are no longer able to handle the trail? Hopefully that will be always off but they do seem to be getting up their. As for the guy that got the Turkey,I hope he enjoys that one and more in the future.I used to Rabbit hunt when I was a teenager and I miss getting out in the woods.
Thanks for the side observations. I do take them into consideration when it comes to the editing process and they are appreciated. Right now I am really enjoying the time I have with Daisy and Wheeler. We are quite the crew as it is...not sure I am ready to add another pup to the mix. A lot of what I do takes them into consideration so we will continue to take each day as it comes....right now they are doing great. As they slow down I am sure we will find other activities that will still allow them to enjoy being outdoors with me.
Amazing video, as always! The opening had a cool, Mr. Rogers feel to it: putting on your shoes and sweater (cardigan, in his case). Keep up the great work!
hey Jason! missed you at expo! saw the new rig though. hope all is well brother. Solo stove saved our butts in flagstaff. fire stay hot and dry as we were getting rain and hail dumped on us.
Hey There! Sorry I missed you!!! All is well. Man...with the amount of gear I had to bring down without the CVT (picked up my Drifter Trailer while at Expo) I didn't have the stove or a heater! It was a cold and wet time in Flagstaff for sure.
I needed this video. You with the dogs in that country--Wow. By the way, you've had that William Collins SK knife for a while. How has the edge held up with regard to sharpness, etc. and if you've had to touch up the edge, was it difficult and what did you use?

Ahhh! I was so excited when I saw this pop up. I thought it was going to be a deeper look at the Telluride's off-road capability! Really looking forward to that. Regardless, great video. Seems like you and the dogs had a great time.
Hey Jason great video, I am also getting into landscape photography as well. In your video of the song that you use when you are walking in the woods, I was just wondering what is the song and the artist is called I really like the song.
Interested in your review of the solo stove, how long does it take to cool down to stow it away for travel? It looks like it burns nicely. Does it take a lot of wood? Nice video. Great job man. Thanks, Bob
Thanks, Robert. I am really enjoying the solo stove and have wanted to get a couple of uses under my belt before doing a review for everyone. I hope to have one up in the near future.
Very interesting fire pit device - look forward to your review. The fire pit at the end of the video is similar to what the USFS and Cradle of Forestry have installed here in the east. Too deep, and hide the campfire. I feel like a hobo standing around a barrel fire. I prefer a good ring of rocks!
Hi Chuck. So far the Solo Stove has been working great and I will get a review out shortly. While I prefer a good ring of rocks as well...sometimes camp ground conditions are just not right or I am rolling into camp really late and just want the ease of something like the Solo Stove.
Primal Outdoors - Camping and Photography I can see the advantage to having it along. It appears to be a very clean burn, whereas most of the deep fire pits at the campground turn into smudge pots unless you build “log cabins of fire!”
