I wanted to thank you for what you are doing with your videos. My four daughters and I (ages 10-4), watch for the new ones each week. I enjoy watching but they are the ones that request to watch. We would love to buy some of your landscapes. I find your content spot on, professional, and deliberate. I can sense your desire to pass on the info you have to others while sharing your enthusiasm for nature. I also greatly appreciate your use of vocabulary, as in lack of foul language. I'm sure you know adults enjoy your program but I want you to know that you have a big market in the children's arena as well. You have a way of translating your thoughts deliberately with few words and directly. And your use of video to show and demonstrate ideas as well is what,I think, captivates my girls and what maintains their focus. Keep up the great work you are doing. Good bless.

Primal Outdoors, great channel you have. I like to delve into Cast Iron/skillet/Dutch Oven cooking and yesterday, I Googled Camp Fire cooking and Google showed your website. I watched a few of your uploads, liked what I saw and, I subbed.
My wife and I have a lot of family throughout Oregon and it is a beautiful state as is Northern Idaho where our daughter and her family reside.
Thanks for taking us along on your camping adventures, the wonderful photography and, sharing your pups with us.
    Looking forward to watching more.

    I understand not sharing locations.
In the Big Sur area in the Santa Lucia mountains in Calif I hiked and camped for over 40 years. In that time I saw less than 10 people. A former president made it a wilderness area. I took two friends from Argentina and the Phillipines(sp) on an overnight last time I was there. We ran into over 30 people in one day and my remote "secret" campsite was overflowing. Ruined. If you are not willing to put in the effort, no sharing. You have convinced me to try some Pendleton Rye. Report to follow. We have an English Cream Golden retriever (Romeo), our constant companion. Excellent video as always. Jeff and Melinda

I think you bring a real perspective to the truth of being outdoors. I have camped for years starting as a cub scout and going to Life Rank before I found girls...Lol, but the skill they taught me first and over and over again, was map and compass. It was my first merit badge and my life long skill. I learned survival training and fire-building as well, both in scouting and in the military but my first gift from my father as a young man was my own compass and the last gift from my father was his compass. A very meaningful set of brackets.

Just had to add... we take out company vehicles to Gresham Ford. Great service!
I was watching with sound off when I saw the building... I was like... hey that’s the Ford shop in Gresham. Rewound the video, turned up the volume... yup..
but I was a bit surprised you drove over here to get the work done..
As always, though.... love the videos!

Great work and excellent relation with your buds. How old are your dogs? I look at their faces and can tell they have some miles on them but that they are content. You helping them in and out of the trailer is another indicator of their age. They really are your buddies , that is obvious by the affection they show you.

My brother and I spotted your setup near L..... Lake last weekend out exploring. We stopped on the road to give you a wave, but didn't see ya, so we got back to exploring. We both wanted to say hi, but didn't want to make it weird. Both of us are subscribed to your channel and enjoy your content of Oregon. By the end of your video, I figured this video location, only been there once and it was last year with my brother; I planned that trip just like you described at the end of your video. I'll have to ask my Bro if he figured it out.

Me I always stayed from the beaten path. I camp primitive spots or an spot where people are not around. I remember when primitive camping was free or 2 dollars a night. 8 dollars is still a good donation for a nights sleep. Remember people Pack out more than you pack in. This will help keep trails a camping open for future generations.

Another beautiful camp, and fun interlude at the Overland Rally. Hoping to make it up there next year. I completely support your nondisclosure of locations. I originally started my whole softroadingthewest thing for the purpose of helping people find cool areas to explore, because, new to it myself, I was having a hard time finding resources. Over the course of the past year however, I'm finding myself less and less inclined to provide too many specifics. You're absolutely right that it is a far more rewarding experience to make your own discoveries. Anyone willing to put in a bit of research and map study will be rewarded by the countless discoveries to be made without needing to follow someone else's GPS tracks. Thanks as always for sharing Oregon's beauty and for being an inspiration to so many of us.

I don't blame you at all for keeping your locations to yourself. It's true they look awesome but imagine 5k of people trying to find them and use them. Like anything else camp grounds can be overused and get that worn down look which ruins their natural beauty. Great video as always, Daisy i'll bet feels better with that winter coat shaved off.

I really loved this video, Jason, and pretty much most of your content for that matter. I've been a follower for about a year and I thoroughly enjoy following along with you on your adventures. I only wish RUclips had Scratch N Sniff capabilities so I can smell what you're cooking, scratch Daisy and Wheeler behind the ears, and feel the warmth of the fire. You and Casey helped inspire me to get a 4x4 truck last year and I've gone on a few camping trips with a couple of buds and even did a solo one a few months ago - which I so loved (even if it was in a county park, lol - baby steps). Once this COVID situation is over, I hope to be able to do some of my own outings and posting videos as well. Anyway, please continue with what you're doing, the way you are doing it. I hope to one day see you on the Outside (but not necessarily outside a port-a-pottie, lol). Lots of love, Susana The Explorer.
