Celtic versus Rangers. The two big Glasgow football teams. When they play it’s the old firm derby.
One is built on Irish catholic immigrant roots, the other leans more toward establishmentarian of the Protestant/British crown.
Bigotry and sectarianism is rife in both cultures. But so is beauty, stories and a common ground. 🖖
Personally I’m a Tim (Celtic fan) as is KB. If you don’t take it too seriously (which sadly all too many people do) there’s a vein of humour to tap into.

My husband kept saying over and over “11 quid fur a f***in ice cube” I tried to defuse the situation by saying “aye, but it’s a nice ice cube” His face was growling. Sitting in the taxi on the way home he produces the glass from his inside pocket. I was shocked, says the tall one “ well! They robbed me first”. Guess that’s somewhere else we can’t go back to.

People fired like that woman, just so they could be placed on that scheme as unemployed and paid NOTHING by the employer this time, all to give free labour to businesses as a reward for getting rid of their employees, paid for by your tax money. It was keeping people relying on food banks and insufficient "unemployment money" (they were working!) even for food and the cheapest one-bedroom flats despite working full time hours in normal jobs, no wonder so many people killed themselves. As Limmy would say, I once met Kevin Bridges at a charity event, he was very funny and down to earth. He had just started doing comedy and was asked to do a pub gig for charity in Hamilton. He was maybe 15 or 16 and totally unknown, not even the last on the mic. When I heard him speak, it seemed to me he was possessed. How could this boy speak like a seasoned comic with total confidence, improvising the first 5 minutes, having everyone present in tears of laughter. It was triumphant and I went to work the next day predicting a new star was born, never so certain of a prediction in my life. Not so lucky for the lad that followed him, who totally died on stage. I feel so fortunate to have witnessed that performance.

I have to find stuff that is put out by non comedy channels as otherwise it's instablocked. I reacted to his Night Out as a Married Man and wound up having it instablocked.

@@TheEclecticBeard The scenario Kevin speaks of with Rangers fan and Celtic fan would be your equivalent of a Donald Trump supporter meeting a Joe Biden supporter. Also like America, Scotland don't want Trump in our country either, or as Trump would call it His golf course. Keep the video reactions coming. Love the channel

I work beside ibrox stadium in Glasgow and its a bit embarrassing to admit that even today the violence and bigotry surrounding the old firm still happens, its still quite common to heat about someone being beaten up for hanging around if they are wearing the wrong football strip

In Glasgow the speech is fast moving and full of swear words and sarcasm, I have often had to slow down my speech in order for people not from glasgow to understand what iam saying. As I drive tourists all round Scotland I have my work speech and my local, I have often had my passengers hearing me talk to a friend not understand half of what I said if any lol

I had left a comment about Frankie Boyle in one of your other reaction videos (You've Just given me a heart. #MrEclecticBeard... I Appreciate that. It's nice to know that the people I watch on youtube actually look at comments.)
Honestly,#MrEclecticBeard...I have met Kevin too. (He WAS a neighbour of mine...But he moved to another area of Glasgow after he got married)
His wee dog once took a piss at the shop I used to work in.) I asked him to clean it... I said to him..."C'mon Kevin... A wouldnae take a shit in your kettle"... It is a joke of his and we both laughed. Kevin is a lovely man (Actually a wee bit shy...Would you believe it?!)
He's actually quite a quiet guy who really does appreciate his humble beginnings.
I personally think he is one of the greatest comedians that has come out of Glasgow since Billy Connely.
Honestly brother. I'm not too clued up on the exchanged rate between the $ and the £ but I know to pay $40 for two drinks is really something I would never pay... I'd pay...maybe 10 smackaroonies each.

May i recommend that you watch Kevin Bridges 'An Empty' routine. It is hysterical. One of my fave Kev sets. Great upload and wow you understand him so well without subs, lol. When he gigs in Scotland he is broad Glaswegian, in England and abroad he does a softer accent. 😊

In the UK, you can claim unemployment benefits indefinitely. I believe in the USA, there is a limit to how long you can claim for. As long as you're actively looking for work, or have a legitimate reason for not being able to work, you can claim for a lifetime.
