  • Todays video i am fossil hunting at Cloughton near Scarborough, in search of dinosaur footprints. No amazing finds but some truly epic scenery which makes up for the lack of fossils.

Hi Mark, we haven't seen anything from John n Chris for a while. Hope both are good n no problems. Will you give them our regards next time you see them.
Any way, great to see more of your stuff. Some times it's all about the day out, blue sky, fluffy white clouds and the waves lapping at the shore...... Or.. happy days

Some of my best days out have entailed bringing nothing home ! Sometimes it is just as important to record the fossils in a photograph as to lug them up a cliff nearly breaking your back in the process. About 10 years ago I went to Cayton Bay and found several theropod dinosaur footprints, my first ever. The slabs were far to big to carry home ( we are talking massive boulders) so photographs was the only option. Had a tape measure for scale which helped, no doubt they are long gone !

Hi karen yeah i totally agree. If its collectable and and i know ot wont be destroyed im the process ill do my very best to save the fossil. But sometimes it just can't be. A lovely day out though
