- The first of a number of videos I took whilst on holiday in London this year, a ride aboard one of the new S7 Stock trains on the Circle Line from Embankment to Tower Hill.
The S7 Stock is part of a universal fleet of trains for the Sub Surface Lines on the tube. S8's have already been rolled out to the Metropolitan Line and the roll out of S7's has recently been completed on the H&C and Circle Lines, leaving only the District Line left (minus the Edgware Road - Wimbledon service which is now S7 operated).
Enjoy!
I love London tube and when I was in London, I lived in Woodford.
outside clatter must surely foul the insides of those wagons compared to past rides aboard those snazzy CO/CP or R Stocks 💡💡💡
Probably an additional seat could have been accommodated if that elbow support between seats were not there. With winter jackets and people keeping bags on their laps, I am thinking the elbow support is more of an annoyance than a comfort during rush hour. I will test this for myself when I visit London next time :)

It's probably so people don't lay down and take up 5 seats

The mind the gap onboard announcement is different to what it usually is. Why?
This was filmed in 2014 when Phil Sayer, who sadly passed away in 2016, originally voiced the announcement. TFL changed the announcement with a different voice in 2015.

Are these trains running on the richmond branch?
As far as I'm aware, they are running both on the Richmond and Ealing Broadway branches now but they seem to be diagrammed for a limited number of runs. I didn't see any down that way whilst I was on holiday. If you want to check on the roll out of the S7's then I'd suggest you visit the District Dave Forum as they have a thread about the introduction of S Stock. Hope this helps. :)
