In today's lesson we look at speed picking workouts and how to combine technique and theory in clever ways. By developing both topics simultaneously you save a lot of time so always make sure to include an interesting theory twist in your mechanical exercises! Hope you can use this one for your own practice routine!
Bernth Brodträger hey out of all the lessons on RUclips I find yours to be my favorite. I am very interested in your 10 day course. All I have access to the I internet is through mobile phone, can I take this course with just mobile phone?
Your videos has vastly improved my overall playing, I still suck, but I suck better. Getting my 10 000 hours in after 17 years of on and off camp fire playing.
Honestly, this is the fastest, most accurate, and the most articulate video to practice scales on the internet especially if you're into metal, to synchronize your hands for speed picking. Plus you talk precisely and don't drag the video. Subbed and liked!
Dude, thank you so much for the time you put into this. I've played guitar for hire for over 40 years and just recently began to study 'shred.' I still can't quite get my hand synchronization speed where it needs to be, but I can tremolo pick easily. Still working on it!!!!
You are an outstanding teacher you play the example slowly enough it's your ears can follow along and you take the time to completely explain what you're doing why you do it
Sir you are amazing 🖤 i am benefited every time when i see your videos but sir if you don’t mind then if you make a video lesson of famous chords progressions then sir it will be a very useful lesson for us .. Thank you sir ❤️🔥
For this video I just used Guitar Rig 5 with my custom preset :) Just go easy with the gain (less is often more) and make sure to put emphasis on the mids as opposed to scooping them (dangerous rock/metal cliche) and you will be fine!
Hi man, nice work. Let me ask you this. When you go for the speed picking i've noticed you use only forearm movement and keep your wrist still. Am I correct?
Why aren’t you extending the phrases to the B and E strings? That standard tuning 1/2 step weirdness on the B string always confused me growing up but the shapes are important
I always focus on making the exercises as small and effective as possible - especially with tricky topics like developing picking speed & string switching :) A 2 string pattern would be too small here so I went with 4 strings for this example. The pattern can be extended too for advanced players of course, by thinking in octaves it will be easy to find the right fingering for the B and E string! It would be best to run through these different scales across the entire neck for this exercise - but then this video would be I bit too long I guess :)
I am from India. What is this 'oriental sound'? We rather have all our stringed instrument except a couple which have strings sounding in natural harmonics all along the fretboard.

2 weeks following your tricks and my playing improved a lot. Thanks. I will get the 10 week course once that covid-19 pandemonium is over.
Dude you are criminally underrated holy shit.

Please licks the Styles of Hard Rock and MORE SPEED ! oh Yeah ! Best Teacher Guitar
amazing material
Ur vdo very helpful ♪♥
what gauge of strings are you using? Thank you.
Brutal !!!
If I am only playing a b power chord... So by then All of the relative positioned "modes" starting with b rooted at the same fret "should" work!!??
So basically u use the elbow when u speed up? Not the wrist?
Yeah, i like it
