      @@MattWagner The effort shows. It might not be obvious to everyone, but this is setting up core infrastructure for future development. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first MITL weapon we have in DCS, so it's kind of a milestone.

      At the end of the day, the value is mostly artificial. The amount of lost raw materials is negligible relatively speaking. Most of the value goes to the salaries of the people creating these weapons through all stages of design to deployment. Lucky for you, you can ignore all of that and only virtually waste these bombs.

    If the data link pod and the bomb both can be set to certain channels, would it be possible for one to drop the bomb and then have a buddy guide it to the target?

    This is going to be a game changer when you know there is a SAM out there in a specific area but can't find it without getting closer. Loft the missile in DL mode and then find the target en-route.

    The walleye is the primitive ancestor of smart weapons. BUT it has a bigum warhead. You can point it to the target using the pod, but it still needs contrast to lock on. The ability to watch it approach the target and change the hit point on the fly is nice. Bring popcorn.

    It was not working for me ...so just a note, if you can't move the TDC, it's because you need to press the TDC depress while moving the TDC. In the options/Special, there is an option for the F/A-18C, " realistic TDC slew". If unchecked, no need the depress button.

    Great. The Hornet is getting some good love.
    When loading this weapon, does it require also loading a datalink pod for them too? This is a really cool weapon.

      If you wish to use the man-in-the-loop guidance, then yes, you must have the AWW-13 data link pod loaded on one of the wings. Thanks

    I always thought it would be super cool if you could drop the Walleye in some kind of CCRP mode from above the clouds, and then guide the weapon directly onto target after it passes through the cloud layer

      well, Walleye II was mainly build to destroy things like bridges, powerplants and so on
      heavy targets that also need high precission

      @17ll3 x214 I''d be happy with some more bullet impact effects so that some 7.62mm or 12.7mm riflebullet doesn't look like i'm peppering the target with 30mm HE...
      AP cannon rounds should also look different in impact, only creating a dustpuff when hitting ground or a tiny flash when hitting hard targets. They currently all look pretty boring and unrealistic.

    The Walleye is actually pretty damn cool - good job Hornet team. Hey Wags, what will be the next A/A radar function implemented? I've heard TWS, proper AACQ, and Spotlight mode are all being worked on but just curious what the next thing is gonna be that we'll see for the AA radar. Thanks!

    Fucking beautiful. Does the US military make their own sims still or do they use DCS?? DCS is by far the most realistic military aircraft sim I have ever seen. I don't even play this game but I absolutely love watching videos of it.

    I love the TV static effect. I heard that the T-pod takes a moment to focus when used. I haven't seen this for it. Maybe that can be a last finishing touch on it?

    already i can imagine this. i use the tgp to acquire a radar site, i fire the walleye towards that radar site, i break off and pick whether to kill that ewr, s300, or rearm truck. problem is that you're already in range with sams.

    Walleye is cool and all but Id seriously prefer time spent flushing out many of the empty systems right now. Things like simple hud indication of where the tgp is pointing are much more important to me than new weapons. Anyways good work

      @@MattWagner I've heard this many times before. But if thats the case then in my opinion I'd take them off weapons and upstaff the core systems that still need much love. Things like INS, TWS, AGR, TGP, JHMCS. I'm still enjoying the Hornet and all the things that come with buying into early access. I just believe many of us would like to see core features prioritized over releasing half finished weapons. Thanks for the reply Matt.

    The curious person inside of me noted that the bomb's control surfaces were deflected the whole way in, in a pro-roll input - is that a) unintentional (a bug) or b) a real thing, to counter the torque caused by the generator propeller?

      Maybe TDC depress? It's a TV seeker, so it probably requires good contrast to track.

    Are you aware that we can't drop walleyes when we have a hot or cold start on the ground? The only way to use them is a hot air start.

    I am baffled by the Walleye ... It does not want to lock onto anything, so I am never able to drop it. I think I have followed the procedures shown in this video. Is there anything special I need to do to get the seeker to lock onto a target?

    I've followed all of the steps to set the walleye up but I can't find the sensor slew button that Wags uses to move the seeker of the Walleye onto the target.

    When I drop, the video feed disconnects (datalink connected as in the video, correct channel, good picture, etc.. ) bomb drops, tv just disconnects

      It sounds like you did not correctly link the seeker video to the data link pod. You probably had the incorrect channel selected. Thanks

    I don't know much, if anything about the walleye so maybe this is normal, but why doesn't the air driven generator spin while the weapon is on the pylon? Only when it's released?

    Why do the Walleyes work only after starting in the air? When starting my Hornet from the ground, the AGM-62 can´t be released from the pylons.

      At the last moment after all testing was done, a small change was implented that broke this for a ground start. We will have a fix soon. Thanks

    I cannot move the seeker on walleye, which button should I press? TDC slew is not moving the seeker
    I did uncage the walleye and it got diamond on the top right crner

      Like the maverick, unless you turn off realistic mav controls you have to uncage then depress tdc and slew at the same time.

      jetboss737 yes I did watch the video LOL. but if I drop from 100 miles away from 10.000ft it will certainly not hit the target... I am asking if there is some kind of cue as to when you come into range!

      WE on the HUD is a valid lock so you can fire
      WE crossed out on the HUD is not a valid lock and you can’t or shouldn’t fire.
      From 100 miles you won’t get a valid lock so WE will be crossed out, like in the Video when Wags is dropping his second bomb.
