Totally worth the unforgettable trip to the Oz coast from Boston. What an adventure! Glad you captured that precious fotography of the Leafy Sea dragon in his lair! Liked and subbed
I like your family’s collective motivation to go and do underwater adventures together. You folks are Truely blessed. I like how they built a new port walk with stairs for divers. Nice vegetation bed and seadragon. I’m glad you folks found some seadragon to film the first time in the water. Look how the seadragon just floats gracefully with tides and underwater currents. It felt like a short video for such a far ways to travel. I guess the water was too cold for the children. Thank you folks for sharing such experiences who would never even know what it’s like underwater , especially how you feel peaceful joyful. 💚💙
That was so soothing to watch. What a curious way to live a life, just hanging out in the sea gardens and getting tossed around by the waves. And how do they grow those weird pseudo-leaves? They're just amazing.
I love Leafy Sea Dragons, they're so majestic though I'm a little more partial to the Weedy Sea Dragon because it was the first one I saw and I love their colors...amazing creatures.
They eat tiny crustaceans like shrimp and larval fish through their mouth like a straw as they actually suck the prey in. They're ambush predators and tend to be difficult to spot most of the time as they even mimic the movement of the kelp.
0:58 That face is just brilliant 🤣 1:33 I KNOW! I _never_ sleep on airplanes. It’s literally impossible for me. 6:39 Oh my god that is gorgeous 8:08 That’s a cool shot right there 9:07 That’s adorable 🤣🤣🤣 9:21 20 years? Omg Wow, I love these things. Especially with the conditions, you did AMAZING with the shots! I kinda feel bad for Elise and Liam cause they had to be cold, but I’m pretty sure they enjoyed it! Also, the poor seahorses are probably trying so hard to stay camouflaged, like you said. Oh and guess what? ITS OFFICIAL IM GETTING YOUR MERCH FOR CHRISTMAS WOOOOOHOOOOOO I’m literally so excited 💙💙💙💙💙💙
Oh boy! You have no idea how happy this made me! Sea Horses/Dragons were my very first loves of sea critters. Back when I was still a teen. I have them all over my room! I even have a sea horse roach clip lol. I don't use that; it's handmade and beautiful. My fam has bought me sea horse things too. I even have a Littlest Pet Shop Sea Horse. Along side a Giraffe which I am also crazy about. Have become more of an animal lover since I've grown older and unable to work after 30yrs of physical labor. And children. So I'm tickled to see your whole lovely fam out there! My granddaughter went to a scuba birthday party once. I was so excited for her I even subbed her to Scuba Mag. She didn't pursue it tho.😓 I made sure my daughter had swimming lessons at age 4 and she did the same with her 3 but none have been interested in going further. My granddaughter is an NHS member with an outstanding grade point and plays violin. She has huge scholarships available and I had hoped for some kind of animal or human biology but she's chosen to stay here and go for child psychology. Guess that's a good thing too. One grandson is in engineering..biomedical..so good as well. Wish I had or my daughter, gone into animal science but we both had families young and had to focus on that. Boy I'm just babbling away! Sorry mate! Lol. Love you guys! Hope you are still doing this. I'm just trying to catch all the stuff youtube is now sending me. Late. No surprise.🙏💙🐡🐉 Closest thing to a sea dragon in my emojis. What a shame.
The Leafy Seadragons are my FAVOURITE Seadragons! I love Seadragons in general but these are my absolute favourite due to how unique and unworldly they look! The way they swim and look makes them look like Unicorns!
Great work Mr. Bird. Its one of your best. Its not easy in this kind of underwater environment. But still the time you gave for a single shot made it look surreal.
Hi Jonathan thanks for the show. I spotted one of these on the Aliwal Shoal many years back, which makes it an interesting and diverse creature! Thanks for the amazing dive sites over the years 🤿👌
Thanks for sharing this jonathan it makes me relax when im staring at the leafy seadragon keep it up and i hope you and your family will be safe and thanks for keeping us entertain.👍👍👍 Godbless BlueWorld👍
I just visited blue world channel.. I love all the episodes.. Wow amazing.. I dont know how to swim.. Im 90kg.. Im 36 already.. Maybe i can be rich soon to experience this adventure of a lifetime through diving.. From Philippines with support..😁
Brrrrrr! Too cold for a wet suit lol but well done bird family for surviving the long journey and the dives because that’s not so tropical after Bonaire with that other segment! Cheers for the top quality cinematography of one of the coolest seahorses (in my opinion)
I saw these in person at my local aquarium exhibit. I generally assumed seahorses to be no bigger than the palm of my hand. But these Leafy Seadragons are surprisingly huge! Probably almost elbow length.
Please reply if you’ll consider this. Thank you so much for showing us the Blue World. Here’s what the diving suit looks like: a two piece suit (shirt and trousers) and a head mask that looks like a gas mask with two jointed snorkels that are kept above the water by a bell 🔔 shaped float that is airtight with holes on the sides for the tubes to breath from. To make it, you’ll need: leather or any waterproof fabric, glass lenses for the eyes, springs to stop the tube joints from collapsing under pressure, pool noodle foam or cork for the float, and bamboo or plastic tubing for snorkels. To use this you can take an air hose, insert it into one of the holes and leave the other open to let the extra air and exhalation flow out. And you can add a mouth piece or regulator that will allow the diver to take healthy breaths without causing discomfort.
Awww!!! Cute sea dragons & a fun family adventure!!! What's not to love???... There were none of my friends!!! BOO!!! Sharky xxx... I think there may be an age limit on sharky-diving Sharky...
I think this video would've better if there was an equal of amount of underwater footage with Christine scuba diving, in drysuit while searching Leafy Seadragons, as there was with you, Jonathan. I see how the Leafy Seadragons bleeds in the seagrass. How long were your kids able to scuba dive in the cold water? Watching Elise scuba diving while looking for Leafy Seadragons is my favorite part of this video.
Hi Jonathan I have been watching you since I was three years old now I am seven sea dragons are my favorite sea animal you have always inspiring me so thank you so much!
I really love your videos! I stumbled upon them a few weeks ago and I've been watching non-stop. I didn't know you were from Boston. I'm from Boston too! (now in Asia)
@@BlueWorldTV I don't know how to dive yet, but after I graduate from university in April, I am planning on taking a basic diving course and then go diving in Tioman, Malaysia!
Amazing video John! You and your videos went right into my heart. I'm only 13years old and i'm diving too. I'd love to dive with sharks one day I hope my dream comes true!

I would've really liked to hear more about their lives. How/what do they eat ? Their breeding cycle, so on
They eat tiny crustaceans like shrimp and larval fish through their mouth like a straw as they actually suck the prey in. They're ambush predators and tend to be difficult to spot most of the time as they even mimic the movement of the kelp.
Magical, graceful, regal, and the essence of beauty.
Too long of a wait, sea dragons are just so cool.

Bummer! Sorry to hear that. Go with Daniel, he will find you one!
Wonderful spices in sea
I'm from Adelaide and my mum and sister have seen leafies twice. So weird seeing all these familiar locations on BlueWorld.
