    Patrick, software engineer here. Just stumbled upon your videos and I really appreciate your perspective and positivity.
    I just built a SaaS and your tips are helping me build a sales plan for myself and my affiliates.
    I’ve been listening to sales trainers on RUclips and it’s very refreshing to have a Sales Channel from a Software person who is not afraid of the phone. I’ve seen so many businesses grow with a good call effort but it’s harder than it looks but you make it simple.
    Thank you for the insights and positive energy sir

    Hi Patrick. In my approach to "cold" calling I always share with others we need to get rid of that phrase "cold" or at least see it in a different light. Whether we do this face to face in businesses or calling on the phone, if we are warm, friendly and sincere and valuing their time then that goes a long way in a "yes" from them to share with them what we offer. Sure we need to contact great numbers of people in the course of our business life and sort through many of them, but we need to be consistent in this approach and it absolutely works for me in my air and surface purification business which so needed in these times.

    Hi Patrick, thanks for putting this video out there. It helped motovate me at work today. Making cold calls is the only way I make money at my inside sales job but for the last few years I have really been feeiling "burnt out". I find myself procrastinating more and more and it was really helpful to write down and figure out what exactly I am trying to avoid. One peice of advice that I wanted to give for anyone starting out, and this was something I read in a book and it was very helpful to me when I first started calling on people, but what I would do is: during my commute to work in my car, I would have a small battery operated tape recorder and record my self pretending to make calls and saying different things out loud, then I would play it back to see how it sounded. This helped me get comfortable with the oppening conversation, really once you get past those first few seconds its not as scarry. In fact, for my line of work anyway, its best to talk less and listen more.

    Its really important to overcome your fear when u meeting a client before u set a meeting. I gess the reason why u have a fear is bec. Lack of knowledge to the ptoduct you going to sell or even yourself u dont believe it. Or convince to your employer and product itself. Kakabshan k ngs tlgs humarap s k meeting mo, for me to be a competent agent you should love your choosen career gusto mo ung ginagawa mo or your passion cguro walang reason or place inside you ung fear para d. Mo ma present ng ayos ung gusto mong mangyari.

      That is why it is called cold calling. There are many mistakes they make. Some hides behind an answering machine. There are even most of them that calls late in the night or middle of the night. There are those who initiate a call and could not go straight to a point. In your case, you say you are not afraid to talk to people but not willing to pick up the phone and dial the number. You can't expect a customer to want to get in contact with a random sales person. If you cannot even take the 1st step of initiating a call, you are not fit to be a cold caller. Being afraid to pick up the phone and dial is the same as being afraid to talk to people.

    • @hp2546
      @hp2546 2 года назад

      @@Badbunnyray Once you stop and think about what you want to say after initiating a call, you would already be wasting your client's time. Remember that you are there to gain their trust. The mysterious client is not there to gain your trust. Why do you think it is called cold calling? If you can't even come up with anything to say, your client would already be hanging up on you. They had already be disrespected by so many spammers. You have to proof you are not one of them.

    So this is great advice when you are working as BDR/SDR, or in other words your job. But what about when you are starting a new career and applying for BDR/SDR roles and you know one of the final interview questions is a mock sales call, they might test your confidence/resilience/how to handle a difficult prospect, etc.
    That is the time to pitch as close to a perfect sales call as possible right? That's kind of when all of the fears do apply. "it's make or break scenario"

      What many cold callers would fail to do is get to a point. The minute you initiate a call and then you spend extra thinking what you want to say, that right there would be wasting a person's time. There are many who also hide behind an answering machine. If you know you have good reviews, be able to present your product; otherwise if you freeze up in fear of rejection, you would already be making yourself not trust worthy. Many cold callers also play hard to get. Don't be like any of them. Being a cold callers to strangers means you must never show fear.
