I got mine in this week. Opted for the Jade G10 and satin blade. Action was very stiff out of the box. It didn't really have an edge worth using. A little adjustment on pivot, some KPL, and a dab of Pro-Gold grease on a couple areas= butter smooth action. Gave it a nice sharpening and now it peels hair. I was impressed with the NitroV steel during sharpening. This is the first time buying a NitroV blade and didn't know what to expect. Nothing is quite as satisfying as feeling and then hearing the sound of a burr coming off properly heat treated steel. A nice crackling glass sound. Great knife once I got it sharp and the action slicked up.
After having some more time with this knife I found the Super Lock jimping to be very aggressive. There was also some stiffness in the lock. It was time to tear it down! What I found was the super lock having some burrs in contact areas. I knocked those off and polished by hand. The interface in rear where spring it was also another area. So I worked inside the super lock area spring holding area there, knocking off sharp edges and hand polishing. Even polished the spring! Only one other area was still causing roughness and that is where the super lock rides against a pin. Smoothed that out and finished by knocking down the most aggressive super lock jimping part. I rounded that on the corners and also took a wee bit of height out with a micro file. After this, simply butter smooth action! This is a great knife. If I had only one complaint it would be that it carries a little weird due to pocket clip placement. I really like this knife.
I put the stock clip from the Conspirator on this and it solved the hotspot issue. I had already replaced the Conspirator's clip with the Civivi milled titanium (which made it look 100% better), so it was a win/win! Cheers!
I'm not pre-ordering anything from Blade HQ again. My Vision hasn't shipped yet and I could have one from Amazon tomorrow. I did order a titanium Civivi replacement clip, not hearing good things about the stock one. Thanks for the extensive review, as always! Cheers! 👊
I simply screwed the clip from the Böker Magnum blue Jay onto the Civivi Vision fg. Visually, in terms of feel and in everyday life, it fits perfectly. 😅🤷♂️👍
So far I think it is my favorite Civivi and for the price... I think it is fantastic. The blade shape is my favorite, good upward curve on the blade to make cutting different angles easier, able to get better leverage from different body positions, like a simpler Osborne 940... the locking mechanism feels really strong and easy to use either hand. It is a bit heavy for it's size, but feels solid that way too. This is their new Damascus too, according to the QA on the white handle version "this Damascus is compound by 10Cr15CoMov in core with 316 and 5Cr15Mov in layers."
Seems like a ripoff of the Chris Reeve Insingo blade design. I've been seeing a lot of Chinese ripoffs of original high end knives. They're the most unoriginal people ever.

I actually am liking the thing’s different from the WE version. The clip in a normal spot and the lock mechanism being stationary are good for most people. $70-100 not bad at all. These will make badass Christmas gifts.

Handled the WE vision R at TX blade show and really like Snecx designs. I like the extra handle thickness and the standard pocket clip mounting of the Civivi. They did a good job! Also have the WE mini buster which is great too. still on the lookout for a blue WE Ti Vision R for a deal on the secondary. Great review as always!
what did you mean by cutting out the bottom of the clip and stack it? im considering getting that clip but after seeing this vid it looks off...they have titanium clips for the elementum i think would work better
I’ve been eyeing the KCE CJRB Pyrite Alt, but the Vision FG has been tempting me, especially since I’ve been wanting a bigger blade than my KCE Kizer Swagg’s Sway Back. Also, having a different locking mechanism would be neat. Still, which would you prioritize, Pyrite Alt or Vision FG? Or should I just wait for a Pyrite Alt XL? 🙃
I have quite a few Pyrites. Like the Wharny version best personally. Actions on all of those is great. Edges are also sharp out of box. Would love an XL version of the Wharny blade too. Hard to beat the CJRB Pyrite price for what you get.

Outta curiosity I often see enthusiasts mention kitchen duty for knives under 4 inches and I wonder aside from de-seeding/paring what is the use case and why a folding blade? Not trying to attack you, just wanna understand. I'm a tiny knife lover for pocket gear but when I'm in the kitchen I do 90 pct of my work with a cleaver (including a few fine detail jobs such as removing the eyes of a potato).
So major differences are titanium vs stainless steel parts, thumb holes vs thumb pegs and the way the blade lock operates. Those titanium parts really drove up the price of the original so it makes sense it dropped down to only like $80. I imagine the changed the back lock a bit because people might have been breaking it or thinking there was something wrong with it. I just got the FG and I love it. Super fun the play with and mine came pretty sharp out of the box so it really probably just depends on who is sharpening it. Civivi is a Chinese company so they are probably trying to pump out a pretty good amount at once.
Ivory Damascus is nice wish had a backspacer on the butt of handle think would set it off well so glad hear it pokey pokey 😂😂 love it when u say that stassa great vid bro
I'm glad they made a more affordable version but if you can afford the Ti one, just get that one and call it a day. Obviously a night and day difference.
I prefer the clip placement, lock mechanism not coming out, and detent strength on the FG so I'd take it over the R any day, really feels like they fixed all the issues with it, plus thumb studs

Where did you get your knife? I paid 92 dollars for mine on the civivi website. They are less than that on Blade hq but I prefer paypal so that's not an option. Why is yours so expensive?
Pretty sure that isn’t the domin… I only say this because I use a domin mini that I got for free years ago at blade HQ for free with a kizer sheepdog (when the original sheepdog came out). I love the domin but that knife looks similar - not nitpicking and I could be wrong!! Great review and I’ve been watching for years and never comment. Just got the knife , does anyone else have issues pulling the super lock to disengage it, i have to pull pretty hard hurts my index finger not sure if that’s just my example
The branding makes it look cheap. Who wants text all over the blade. Civivi usually has real minimal branding. Sad A smaller clip should make some difference or the titanium straight clip would help. Oh shit, he just put it on in the video. 😅

I do agree the clip isn’t super amazing but it doesn’t bother me too much. Luckily you can replace it with a better one they make.

This is happening with mine too. It'll make a loud clicking noise when it disengages
My index finger is killing me, my super lock is so darn hard to use.
