I remember seeing these everywhere throughout the 1980’s. Monte Carlo was a very popular vehicle.
I remember I ching the transmission for this car by my self with front drive shaft...from Baghdad best regards..
Yes, you could also change the air filter by simply spinning a wing nut. To do this on any car today, you need 3 different types/sizes of screwdrivers, 2 socket wrenches, and a butter knife.
Interesting that simulated wood grain accents was available in selected areas.
I still want one, had a 1978.
How much was the option for the remote controlled driver's door?
It's the exact same steering wheel and faux wood grain radio binnacle i had in my 1984 Caprice.
Beautiful 🇺🇸 made strong

70s presentation for an 80 car
“And for a sporty appearance, there are new optional wire wheel covers…” nothing says cheapskate faux luxury like “wire wheel covers” ie- hubcaps. “Sporty” is a joke.
I'm sure U.S. auto manufacturers made a billion $ or 2 in their service parts division off of those wire wheel covers. They were stolen faster than anyone could keep them on in any urban area. I thought the reference to "sporty" was hilarious too. Just picturing a guy in Nike gym shoes running down the street with 2 hubcaps under each arm along with a sweatband on his forehead.
Nice looking but very unreliable, my dad had a blue one and it spent half its life in the shop.
If it was mine it wouldnt have. I wouldve done ceramic coating in the oil and swapped it to fuel inject.
With its beautiful Monte Carlo Crest on the front header panel. The reproduction of this Crest in year 2022 is $129 but yet in 1980 at the parts department counter it was $8.95 with tax. Strange this car became a cult classic with black and brown people and gun violence.
