A few weeks ago, i was going upstream on a creek and with the machete, i've cut down bush- and treetwigs, branches, so, that i can go upright through the creek. The holes of the handle have left blisters on my fingers, although, the holes aren't so big, as on your machete's handle! So, those will cause problems, when you'll use it!
I have the same one. Many years ago you could buy five machetes like this with several different styles for under $15.00. I gave some away and I still have three left. They’re good utility machetes for the money.

Mum got her's in '89 at a pawnshop for under ten bucks. Nice to see they are still as good as before!
