Is that Zambuk that I see next to the phone on the couch 😂
😅
probably the most south african thing there other than biltong haha
Yes, the real makoyi! 😂😂😂
It absolutely is 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
South African chocolates and sweets are superior in taste to those of the US because we use cane sugar and real milk whereas the US uses corn syrup and their milk products contain butyric acid.
Thanks for the info
Apparently the American milk contains pus too.
Al what you're talking about that chocolate and sweet what ever everything it's from US all factories it's from USA just delivering the company business from the whole Africa South Africa Nigeria what ever. So nothing about what you saying sister
Glad to see you got introduced to the mighty Zam-Buk 😂 The Real Makoya!
😂😂bore me again 😂
😂😂😂
You mean real McCoy. That is the REAL saying. LOL. But I did like your South Africanisation of it.
Btw zambuk is not a south african its a brand from a different country😭😭
@@NkatekoMondalama Correct. It is a British discovery/invention. However it is now manufactured in Thailand and distributed in South Africa to various other countries in Africa and elsewhere.
Giving less than a 10 for biltong may be dangerous😂😂😂
😂😂😂
They are threading on dangerous grounds 😃😃 Biltong is our delicacy ❤️
This is true. This is very true.
Hahaha was just about to type this.🤣 Biltong it is part of our South African personality!
We all know you can't just buy any biltong
The toffees are super yummy when soft 😂😂😂
As for chomp 😂😂😂😂😂brings back memories, not the best but was a great cheap childhood snack
I clean forgot about chomps 😂
Thanks for watching
Don’t bite into it 🙄😂 simmer into it my people
@@mondeklaas1486 sweets taste better when bitten even chocolate, not good for our teeth but oh well 😅
Now I want go hunt for chomp is was my absolute favorite
Here's the thing guys: y'all eating one sweet thing after the other, to the point your palette was completely desensitized. You needed to do a sweet thing, savoury thing.
As much fun as this was, your poor tastebuds were battling for recognition in the competing flavours of over-sugary things. You needed some kinda palette cleanser.
💯
We’ll have to try that next time. Thanks for watching.
That's what I was thinking as well, you should try sweet, then salty then have a drink... Eating one sugary snack after another just wouldn't work 😅
U guys needed to drink a Lil bit of water in between to wash down the flavors in order to have a real taste of other snacks
I pointed out last time that taste is relative and water should be had between tasting but was shot down. Oh well
idk if maybe Americas flavours are like so overexagerated or strong that maybe when people visit and taste stuff it tastes watered down or not enough spices, not totally sure because when i was in the usa the sodas and drinks tasted SOOOO sweet that sometimes i coudn't drink it or the chips with so much salt n stuff that i would cough 😂😂
maybe thats why yall liked the appletizer cause for us its really sweet, but i really liked the reaction vid thanks!
Could be
I also experienced the same thing. Everything was extremely sweet and extremely salty. I had Muesli and it literally looked like it was coated in Sugar, I was like whaaat! The potato chips were also saaaalty! 😂 The food wasn’t really tasty over there…you need to spend a fortune for nice food.
I was thinking that might be the case. And then with the extra sugar the flavour of regular stuff is less apparent, so they have to spice it up even more to be noticed.
Yeah, that’s probably the case.
In South Africa our sweets are harder in winter than summer. We just dont buy the hard sweets on cold days or in winter. In summer they are yummy😂❤
Exactly! Best way to enjoy Wilson's toffees is when theyre half melted in summer
Yup. I really like the hard things
I leqve them outside in the kitchen but close to the window in a container winter or summer they get soft they not fully in the sunlight but warm spot just good enough to get soft
Who is from south Africa bc i know that i am ✨
Thank you guys so much for doing a part 2! This is a much better representation of South African snacks. Even though you guys didn't like some of them, I'm much happier with your guys' opinions now that you had the real deal! Keep up the great work guys
Thank you so much
I'm not a big fan of Steri Stumpies but you're supposed to shake 'em well before opening. They taste much better after a good shake, most of the flavour mix sinks to the bottom during storage
And make sure of the expiration date... I didn't do that once and let's just say, Steri Stumpie definitely is milk.
yeah, shake 'em stumpies good!
Also depends in the flavor u choose. Strawberry I think is the flavor that a lot if not most south africans say is their favorite or at least one of their favorites. I live Strawberry, creme soda, and banana. Tho admittedly cream soda doesn't seem to be the most flavourful but I live cream soda period.
fun fact, you can actually bite the ends off the peppermint crisp chocolate and drink milk through it
We’ll have to try that next time. Thanks for watching.
I'm going to try this, if it doesn't work, I'm going to be mad, if it works, I'm going to be mad too....as to why I'm learning this at 30 years old
@@pulanemabula8311 Try it with Hot Chocolate. It's the best
Exactly... you actually drink Steri Stompie through the peppermint crisp.
WAIT WHAAAATTTT?!
And peppermint crisp is my favorite choc, and never knew this😂😮
I would like to see you trying American fast food places in SA and compare them to US, like Kentucky and McDonalds etc
Thanks for watching
This!!! Such a great idea! Please consider rating the fast foods, I think you guys did the chicken, but maybe try rating the American food chains that we have here
Apparently the fast food in the US is more unhealthy.
Yes...becouse even Americans says Japanese fast food like McDonald's is different to theirs..
McDonalds in SA is much better than US. The Netherlands is the best. Kentucky is fantastic in US. I don't like ours. Burger King in US is fantastic, ours are horrible.
The toffee, you're not supposed to chew. And you're supposed to shake the steristumpi🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm starting to think my fellow South Africans are trying to make you guys fat 😂 That's a year's worth of candy in 1 video😂😂😂
😂😂😂
HAIBO saying stompie is horrible😭 no man guys you broke my heart
😂😂 sorry
me personally growing up in a South African household, i learnt through many many whippings that you don't open other food unless u done eating the one u started with, so what u did was brave.
" And we got some dry warrrs " i'm dyingggg😂😂💀
😂😂
Love it guys ❤ Biltong is a South African delicacy... Jerky is dried with marinate sauce over it making the process a bit longer than biltong... biltong is raw meat dried out in a controlled environment to avoid bacteria from spreading and its usually seasoned with biltong season... also a South African season. You can find these spiced seasons at ur local supermarket or butcher 😂 lols. Anyhooo... id the biltong texture is too raw for you then leave the biltong for a few days in the brown bag and then try it out. Its like ur curing the meat in its spices. ❤ best critics ever... ❤ keep it up guys 🎉
Thanks for watching
I can't believe you didn't like the steri stumpie! Haha. We have other chocolate milks that's very thick and very chocolaty but sometimes it's just too much. Steri stumpie is basically just plain milk with chocolate powder and the wateryness or lightness of it is what a lot of people love. Because it isn't too sweet and you can actually drink it all. It's best to drink it after you've eaten proper food. Having sweet snacks and then drinking it makes it taste very weak.
First off they didn't even shake it. 2nd, it's not full fat
They crazu fr
They chose the wrong flavors too. My top 3 strawberry, banana, and cream soda.
you should do this on a live so we can tell you how to eat it as well.. The chomp by the way is a childhood favourite adults dont generally eat it. Cadbury try - wholenut, plain, dont go for fancy flavours. steri-stumpies you need to shake before drinking
Strangely enough, I just ate some of those snacks, while I was watching your video ! M here from South Africa. 😊
I feel like Aero Mint Chocolate was missing someway somehow😢
I suspect a lot of people suggested some of these from childhood nostalgia. Things we grew up on, don't necessary take great, we just have an emotionally attachment to them
We agree
Funny thing with Cream Soda (Yes you got the right one) is that we believe it fixes anything. Hangover - get Creamsoda. Upset tummy - get Creamsoda. Broke your arm - get Creamsoda. Zombie apocalypse - get Creamsoda 😂
On a serious note. I guess a lot of these foods and the taste thereof is special to us because we grew up with it. Similar to how I personally feel everything in America is too sweet for my liking. Especially the juice. And most of your chocolate tastes weird to me. Kinda like an off taste, because the flavour is foreign to me, right? Normality baseline is set by childhood experiences. I do really appreciate that you guys go out of your way to listen and try all these different things.
Thanks for watching
Cream soda float♡
nik naks are the best.
Thanks for trying our snacks i love nik nacks and biltong and milkshake how could you not your favorite😮😢😊
Thanks for watching
😆 Chomp, Lunch Bar, and Steri Stumpie is rated more for experience than flavour, so I totally understand.
Thanks for watching
Yeah they are our childhood snacks!!
Feeling bad for burping after having a pop/soda is weird, you're having a human reaction. In SA we usually just say "excuse me" then we keep it moving ✌🏽❤
Great video btw.
Thank you
I never thought in my life that I'll ever enjoy watching people eating... But you guys make it more enjoyable... And your reactions especially when it comes to your least favourite taste always got me rolling.....
I love you guys... By the way, where's my favourite little niece. 😃😃😃😃
She was napping while we were snacking 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching.
She can't t wait to grow up so fast so that she can join mom and dad on their RUclips contents...😂 😂 😂 😂.. Her naps are calculated... 😂 😂 She's joining you guys soon.
And you're welcome...
I literally don't leave the store without a 6pack of appletiser, i love it❤❤
Yes, they are very good. Thanks for watching.
Bruh this is peak content for a south African good job guys🔥
Thank you
How funny seeing you guys try our snacks😂
Nik naks are really one if my favorite chips!!
Thanks for watching
I love Nik Naks, they've stayed consistent for so many years.
@@bohlalenchabeleng1370 it broke my heart to hear that they cost R1,50. I've never felt so betrayed in my 24 years of existence
@@lovegxldii thats a luxury! They cost R3 in Namibia now😭
@@andrealafika6365 it is above us now
I'd choose grapetiser over appletiser, but either of those 2 over anything else.
👍🏾
Hectic. I legit thought that most of our snacks came from America or England... But the fact that they didn't know these snacks really surprised me
Thanks for watching
It's easily available in the US. Most of the companies are US 🤣
The blasphemy against Steri Stumpie. The shit is straight 🔥 👌
Nah it's accurate, I drink it but I'm also not crazy about it
Its overhyped👀 The other snacks I will defend as a patriot but the Stumpi gots to go
😂😂😂
I also don't like steri stumpie
I don’t like it myself but you need to shake it, before you drink it
You need to shake the steri stumpie like alot until the bottom of the bottle has no chocolate sitting there
W8lson toffee comes in soft, medium and hard. Remember Whisper chocolate balls next time. We give chomps to the little ones. They love them. You guys are really pronouncing the names very well.
Thanks for watching
I'm from Durban a small town, we didn't have most of that packed in plastic in our shops, we had coke and fanta and some sweet, bags of chips, most of the croseries and cakes sold were homemade, fruits came from house holds with mongo, peach and citrus trees on their property albeit that was in the 50s. Love those days.
Much better selection this time around, but I wouldn't have picked any of the sparlettas. Please try cookies next time (what we call biscuits in SA). For example, eet-sum-more, lemon creams, tennis biscuits, Romany Creams etc.
Thanks for watching
Really good choice of biscuits.
The only reason I would drink the red Sparlettas is with Tipo Tinto rum and the green Sparletta the next morning for the hangover due to its high sugar content😂😂. We calll it the green ambulance when we were younger after a night out.
Lol, you need to get someone to make you a peppermint crisp tart ;-) you will love it!!! And the Wilson toffee's is not the right ones, you need the square ones you get loose at the caffee
Thanks for being honest about your ratings rather than just saying it's good
No problem thanks for watching
YOU GAVE CRANBERRYCOOLER A 5
SPEECHLESS GUYS TRUST ME IF YOU DRINK THIS COLD
YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT
it was cold, but maybe not cold enough. Thanks for watching.
Get the Cadbury flake chocolate.. It's good..
Thanks for watching
I was today years old when I found out that these snacks aren't international 😅😂 I thought everyone knew what these things were 🥲 Also the way there were saying "dry-wors" was killing me. Great vid 💖
Me too, especially Nik Naks and Cadbury chocolates.
😂😂😂 thanks for watching
Put the droe wors in the microwave for a second or so. It's tastes better
For Me is cardbery I thought it's international
@thilivhalinetshifhefhe8470 I thought so too 🥲😅
I can relate to all those South African snacks here in Namibia so it was an exciting video to watch.
Great content 🎉
Thanks for watching
Interesting about the biltong and dry wors as its like our snack food in South Africa, its also dependant on which butcher you go to with regards to seasoning and flavour. We went thru a phase where everyone wanted yellow fat biltong a few years ago. Dry wors is also very subjective as like by my house my wife doesn't eat anything with lamb in it and to me the best dry wors has lamb fat in it. I'm not sure what jerky is but biltong is dehydrated raw meat soaked in vinigar and spices for a couple of weeks, basically preserved due too not having any fridges a few hundred years back and the tradition just carried on. I really like how people view our food and really enjoyed the video.
I also ensure that I buy Biltong from a great butcher. If not, it is not great tasting. The pre-packed, especially from the garage, is a no-go. It tastes like Jerky (I think I got it correct, the American version of dry meat, which we can all agree it tastes bad)
Thanks for watching
Peperment crisp ALWAYS deserves a 10!
😂😂 it was good.
Yuk, no
I had so much fun watching this. Most of these products were around when i was born like 50 years ago and these snacks have been an inseperable part of life. It was actually fun watching complete strangers rating these delicacies for the first time ever!. A note for the couple: Cadbury is literally pronounced like its read, so its not pronounced Cadberry but rather as Cadbuhree
Things I definitely recommend are: jumping jack butter popcorn, grapetiser drink, Doritos sweet chilli and Lindt chocolate the red one.
Lindt is not an SA brand - a product may be sold here, but it doesn't mean it is a purely SA brand, The sweet chilli flavour may be unique to SA, but Doritos is an international brand
All those snacks are Soo tasty❤❤❤ Glad you tasted biltong as well 😋❤
Thanks for watching
OMG can he stop grabbing the items from her while she is trying to read what it says on the package?😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
You'd never go wrong with Appletizer
True true thanks for watching
Thank u so much for allowing us to interview you both. We really enjoyed you both please keep in touch with us.
Absolutely. It was a pleasure.
Who ever told you to try a chomp was trolling yall, lol
Seems that way 😂😂😂
It's cheap chocolate, never liked it.
Chomp is for kids lol
Niknaks changed the cheese flavour a little while back, and I agree, it's nasty now. I used to eat Niknaks cheese almost daily, but since the change I can't stand them and haven't bought them since! Biltong is very varied from butcher to butcher depending on the cut that is used, how much fat is on it, what spices they use, how it is marinated before curing, how long it's dried for, whether it's cured in a very dry or slightly humid dryer... shop around and you'll be amazed at the differences! If you don't like the soft or "wetter" texture, you can ask for dry biltong.
Thanks for watching
I'm not sure if you are going of to Durban(rather get it there), but if you aren't then try to get a bunny chow (Curry in a loaf of bread (, not sure why some people call a kota a bunny)) as you seem to enjoy spicy food. Another uniquely South African desert would be a milk tart (similar to a cheese cake but lighter even without the contrasting flavours that would typically be added to a cheese cake)
Thanks for the recommendations
@FREEDOM CHASERS I second that! There is a great Indian family from Durban, who now has a restaurant & take away in Groenkloof, Pretoria. He makes the best Bunny Chows ever. He will be moving his shop to Centurion after the 18th of June. His place's name is: Spicylicious - Authentic Durban Cuisine. You won't be sorry.
Nah nik naks cheese flavor is the best one🤣 I put them on my sandwiches sometimes😅
Lol funny how I love that the Nik Naks Cheese taste more like 🌽 than 🧀. I usually get Doritos cheese or cheesenaks when I want that strong 🧀Taste.... Is that Zambuk? 😂😂
It is😂😂😂
I am in South Africa and I eat these things all of them
Thanks for listening to our comments! Our snacks are gooood
Thanks for the suggestions
Haha I enjoyed watching that. Much love all the way from South Africa 🎉😂
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Get the regular jelly tots, some whispers and mix it up with some popcorn. Pure heaven!
Thanks for the suggestion
FAM, y'all stay killing me 🤣🤣blessings "granadilla" 🤣🤣
The chocolate milks especially low fat will taste watered down unfortunately, I usually buy the Spar brands full vream or double cream as it taste more natural. The other brand that isnt bad is the Ultramel milkshakes as they have lots of flavour. Steri stumpie and the Clover Super M are popular because they basically the first milkshakes we bought as kids, they very poor quality wise and making Nesquick at home with full cream milk is better tasting. Also drinking milkshakes after eating sweet things will definitely make it lack flavour, been there done that😂😂
Thanks for watching
for a biscuit type candy rather try KitKat, Tex or PS. We normally give the Chomp to kids as it has less chocolate.
Still binge watching you guys and was fun watching your first take on the SA snacks, but I suspect some would still grow on you if you give it a bit more time. The cheese niknaks is more bland, but often you will see SA folk giving it to their babies/toddlers as a snack between feeding times, as the kids enjoy it.
Thanks for watching
our toffee or caramel is meant to be kept in the mouth for a bit and as it warms it becomes a melt in the mouth experience and you taste the butter and cream!
Got it
SuperM>SteriStumpi, i said what i said 😏😂 and lunchbars have tasted stale for like the past 15 years, they used to be the best chocolate on the shelves and just arent what they used to be, chomps were always the cheap sweet for kids events coz you could buy packs of like 100 without breaking the bank
😂😂😂 thanks for watching.
The one thing South Africans agree on is biltong is 100/10.
EVERY👏🏾SINGLE👏🏾MEAT👏🏾LOVER👏🏾
At this point we should be glad they trying things out.
Thanks for watching
Nik naks use to be my favorite chips. The last view months the seasoning is really so much less than it used to be. If you like the appeltser you will like the grapetiser
Thanks for watching
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE 🤗🤗🤗
Keeping the sterie stumpie open on the edge of the table is a rookie mistake 😂
😂😂
Don't chew the chocolate, let it melt in your mouth 😂😭
😂😂 that’ll make the video be too long 😂 Thanks for watching.
So yeah. Biltong is air dried raw meat. If you don't like the soft moist of beef, try venison biltong. A lot drier.
Kudu biltong is the best. The first few chews is boring. But then the flavour hits.
Btw, with regards to your braai video,if you don't have wors and lamb chops on your plate it isn't a braai.
Steak, chops, wors, chicken.
So I guess we’ll have to revisit the braai. Thanks for watching.
I really enjoyed your reactions to our favourite snacks, even if I don't agree with all your ratings 😂 but that's the thing. Everybody's tastes are different and that's okay.
Thanks for the effort!
Thanks for watching
I KNOW youre talking about the sterie stumpie neh 🤣🤣🤣
@@kabelomoeli8889 lol no I actually also don't like steri stumpie. I was talking about things like the lunchbar being rated so low
Fun fact, in high school in South Africa if your face was covered in pimples we used to call you a Lunch Bar
😩😩😂😂
I laughed hard when you couldn't work out what ghost pops taste like. Cos no one knows what they taste like, we just know that they taste pretty good.
😂😂😂 Thanks for watching.
Yeeezz this lady is very picky..... It's not fair that you compare it with your snacks back home....
Gotta have standards. Thanks for watching.
I was tasting l these foods with you guys from memory. Ha ha. It's pronounced dry "v"ors (the w sounds like a v coz its afrikaans - and i also dont like drywors), but everything else was spot on. Yes, biltong is raw meat that is dried under special conditions to make it tender but also spicey and cured. I actually didnt know jerky was cooked first. Must be quite a weird dry taste then 🤔. I love the flavouring they put on it. But then i hate thr texture of seafood muscles so i get what you were saying about some textures dont work for u. Thanks for the video.❤
Thanks for watching
I love how your wife is always health conscious 👌
I don't like these new Smarties. They tasted better when I was younger
Thanks for watching
The levels of south african judgement I have that you didn't LOSE YOUR MINDS when you ate the biltong and dry wors 😂 I'm so disappointed 😂

You gotta bite either end off the peppermint crisp and then suck the chocolate steri-stumpy through it like a straw. amazeballs.
2 for the price of one! 😂Now that is a true South African 👏
Thanks for the tip.
Please advise which American chips have a concentrated flavour as you noted our coating was light ? Would like to get some

Assess biltong is like assessing starlight: impossible. Biltong varies to every degree possible as it differs from maker to maker.
Good to know
Fun fact about chomps. They changed the the packaging in the lost five years and with that they used to be thicker and the maskot was a hippo ( hence chomp)
