So I may end up having to subscribe to your channel now or soon and look forward to more from you 👍🏼 I think what the first commenter said hit things right on the head too about not only Ridley Scott, but a lot of directors and/or writers in movies and even some shows based on real life events. Romanticizing and/or expanding on actual truths of said stories so not only more people will watch, but so they can then deep dive on what from the story is actually factual or fantasized and/or made up. They even do it in biopics too and why a lot of times it will have warnings of it being loosely based on real life events. It is with a lot of books and artists of music and other aspects of media as well. That is why a lot of time when I see something I like to research before and/or after I watch it. I saw this movie and it made me use my History diploma as a Kleenex. Visually rather beautiful, lots of good things... but the history was... wow was it bad. "Free Numidia"? It had been part of the empire for nearly 400 years. There's really no way to place the brothers at the time the film is set (like 150/200 years off). And Caracalla wasn't bright, but he was also not an effeminate weakling. The man was built like a linebacker & TOUGH. Think Mongo in Blazing Saddles. Sorry, sorry - I ADORED the first film (it was so awesome I was able to overlook the glaring errors)... but this one just didn't have that same oomph. THIS video, on the other hand... BRAVO! very, very good!
