I couldn't believe that to get the platinum trophy of the first Spiderman, you had to make a quick-travel... I NEVER made a quick travel during the entire game

This game gameplay was great. The story was absolutely garbage, and I don’t like how they are pushing Peter Parker Spider-Man, out of the way you may say, but they’re not, but if you look at it stronger has a better moral compass than Peter, I mean like they went out of their way to make sure you knew that the real star of this game was Miles Morales moving forward And as a Spider-Man fan I want to see Peter Parker Spider-Man and not another Spider-Man and I am sure I’m not the only one feels this way

Reading the comments, I'm surprised at how many were shocked by Bode's betrayal. It was totally obvious to me from the moment he appeared that he was would betray me in the late game. I don't know why exactly, but something about his performance just telegraphed it, to me. Still a good game. Maps were a little confusing though

I bought a ps5 to play this after finishing fallen order. I'm glad that was 6 months or so after the game's release, I didn't experience alot of major performance issues and it was very cool as my first current gen experience.

avalanche also made the 2015 game mad max which is a hidden gem and Hogwarts legacy got a lot of ideas from like fast travel etc.

With all due respect, this game's story frustrates you so much because you have really frustrating criticisms imo. You chalked up like 95% of the story progression in this game to convenience, even very small moments like Ellie finding the photos in the duffel bag seemed to frustrate you. Of course you're going to be frustrated if you overthink small moments like that. Also, no, they were not trying to get you to like Abby. This story works just fine if you don't like her. And since this was brought up a lot, if you really want to be pedantic about it, all writing is manipulation because the entire point is to get you to feel certain emotions in certain scenes. All they did was present Abby as a human being. There wasn't this nefarious plot to make her the good guy. It's a matter of perspective, that's it. Speaking of, I think some of your perspectives on some of the scenes are weird. For instance, why would Ellie have an aversion to harming a child? You brought up the fact that she has one, but that's the child she essentially abandoned to pursue a suicide mission. I think she's not all that against endangering a child. And this is not even mentioning the fact that Ellie says why she's doing it ("You made him apart of this.") Finally, how does Dina leaving Ellie not make sense? She literally tells Ellie she's not doing this again. Furthermore, this isn't "punishing Ellie for doing the right thing." It's punishing her for abandoning her family for, again, what was essentially a suicide mission. You do have criticisms I absolutely agree with even with me being on the "it's a masterpiece" side of this debate. Dina's pregnancy reveal, underdeveloped side characters, pacing issues, the weird sex scene, etc are criticisms I have myself. But there's a lot here that I just don't understand.

I got to play it for the first time this year as it was added to game pass and I LOVE it There punchyness of the lightsaber sounds is fantastic, it actually feels like you’re a force to be reckoned with, I noticed after replaying fallen order that each kill cal would do a cool kill on but in survivor he just brushes past then as they’re soo far beyond his skill they aren’t even worth his time to kill flashy

This game is far worse than fallen order. A lot of glitches here and there. The journey is without fun, you simply just want to get it over with asap.

I think it would be really cool if a character decides to be a dark wizard their head of house tries to talk to them, the prefects and ur mentor. Like if they find out. Or comments about ‘are you ok, you seem off?’ Or smth ykwim. Then it can be a whole side plot. Or student coming to u asking for u to teach them (like if one student found out abt u)

This game FEELS like a video game, a rare feeling in gaming these days, in my opinion.

I can't stand the fact that our character isn't on the centre of the screen, he's sooo to the left that he's almost out. I hate exploring in that game because of that, i don't like 'over the shoulder' games and this game is too much for me in that department..

The main story got under my skin so much. One of those stories where the endgame is literally only being held up because the other characters are intentionally withholding information from you for no reason whatsoever. Complete a task and you'll get told "I can't tell you what to do next right now." It seemed like they had an ending in mind and worked backwards.

I think the best part of this game is the ability to change your clothing appearance with out sacrificing stats

For contrivances cal stumbling upon the droid and the 2 compasses not working but the 3rd being salvageable I can chalk up to “the will of the force” sort of like the sheer coincidence that R2-D2 and C-3P0 basically landing in Luke’s lap in ANH, but the extra path to tanalor does kinda stand out a bit.

What’s sad is that this game would have had a shot at game of the year if it didn’t run like shit when it dropped! I gotta replay it soon (beat it twice already) hopefully the performance has been ironed out for me more by now

I love this game. That 3rd act was one HOLY $%@ moment after another.

For me, my biggest issue with the story is how weak they made Peter look. When he is not using the symbiote, he is constantly being saved by Miles, making stupid decisions and, overall, quite weak. For someone supposed to be Miles’s teacher and mentor, someone with years of experience as Spider-man and, most importantly, after everything he did in the first game, I was pretty disappointed with his character development (or the opposite of it).

Harry not remaining dead in the end was the only point you made, that I strongly agree with. It’s easy to nitpick. However, the fact is: the game was excellent, very well received, and most importantly - fun to play. “Everyone’s a critic.”

Isn't it interesting when something is made by a true fan? It automatically speaks to you with love and awe. Is it perfect? No nothing is. It's still a game. And it would take a decade more to do everything. I felt that way about BG3 (I grew up playing D&D). And I wasn't a Potter fan. But i know what you are feeling.

I think where i differ from the perspective of this video is when i played the game again i fell in love with the story more, not less. You do a good job of pointing out the flaws and some of them i agree. But i don't think coincidences necessarily means bad writing. You could point to many stories and claim stuff is a coincidence. But even if there's a bit too much in this game ultimately i thought the story was super deep and really well done and makes you think about life in a way we don't normally think about it.

Was a great game tbf not perfect but was very enjoyable

Just finished the story, and maybe I was hyped cause the venom sequences were so awesome, but I loved the game. My biggest gripes are the playable MJ parts, where she has a stun gun set on God Mode, and Kraven storyline was meh. Spiderman 1 and 2 are both great.

Most of the students sidequests have the option to solve them and then NOT tell them the solution. This could easily be punished with housepoint. Sometimes it better to tell sometimes its not.

900 hours of no PVP. My best stories is the PVE shenanigans, like, making the crew fill a rowboat, turn around an island or rock and stealth drop the friend and tell him the direction to go to, updating him as he tells which island he ended up at. Then he starts selling and we are still "running" because the more we do the more we win. Then after everything is sold and you tell the crew boarding "the boat is empty, you lost" "I killed you I win" Because Russians make the game just more like that.
