Short story, I was replaying hollow knight and trying to get to queens garden, when you first enter the above platform is blocked so i go down to go around from the bottom area but the gate is closed, I instantly just assume the switch is on the other side of the gate and start crashing out because I couldn't figure out how I got into queens garden originally because every entrance was blocked so i had to go all the way around through deepnest like in the video to get into queens garden, I found out recently I just didn't look for the switch 😅

I’ve had this happen often on modded playthroughs. Usually when those weird tendrils appear statically like that it means NKG is off screen somewhere. If you use debug mod to “kill all” sometimes you’ll get him exploding off screen with the red mist appearing and the screen shaking. Very weird behaviour from him. Possibly caused by how he spawns in when you face him in your dream?
