Moor Late Drama

Three straight defeats and 3 points from 6 leaves Pompey in the bottom 2 of the championship, but this one was possibly the hardest to take. Portsmouth where the better team in the first half, and restricted their hosts to half chances in the 2nd. But one mistake and Burnley punished us, as good teams do. Plenty of positives to take, we'll look at them and ask, can we turn it around? Play Up Po...

Six Loan Signings at Portsmouth for Next Season
I am hoping your next video is titled Even Moore late drama 😂 2-1 to the blades is my prediction. Good video and good luck for the season 👍
@@Hyder.39 🤣 Hopefully not, but it's another tough one for us today.
@pompeypod It's going to be a tough one for us too, we will drop points if we underestimate you
@@Hyder.39 🤞😁
I've just listened to JM interview and he was asked about some injuries. He couldn't remember Yengi's name and dismissed him very quickly. Yengi on his way out in January?
I wouldnt be demotivated if i was you, could probably get a result as fratton park is not an easy place to go and win at all and we have the second best defence but i feel thats because we havent really played 'a dangerous' opponent yet
Remember we started the season on -2pts, so sitting 5th and unbeaten so far is good going. I wonder what sort of a reception Michael Cooper will get as he's signed from Plymouth in the summer
@@domgarwell5581 We've never cared about Plymouth tbh, so they'll be no special reception for him.
We ain't expecting an easy game, Fratton Park is a tough place to go! Moore isn't quite firing yet, Hamer is the one to watch, nobody has kept him quiet yet and hes run roit with 4 goals and 1 assist from the left wing. expecting a good, close game, keep up the good work lads! UTB!
@mikehudson537 cheers pal. Hoping for a good one and maybe (big maybe I know) we'll nick something.
Travelling down with my kids from Sheffield for this one. They haven't been before and are excited to see Fratton Park. Best of luck. UTB ⚔
@shiresy3948 Although we've had a lot of work done on FP, you may want to manage the expectations of your kids 🤣
@@pompeypodthey just love to see grounds they haven’t seen before, especially places with character and history. Any ground is a step up from our nearest rivals 😂
Fratton Park is a great stadium. Your kids will love it and will also be full.
@@expatalan6511 it sure is, and we make it all the better on match days. But it's a bit like having an ugly kid. You know they're ugly, but you love them all the same 😁
Unfortunately one of Chris’s old clubs was your enemy up the road , be a tough game , and you’ve had a hard start but think you’ll have enough to stay up ( after Saturday’s game ) good luck
@@Dublinblade1 I'm sure Wilder may just be reminded of his background by one or two on Saturday 😬🤣
Last time I went to Portsmouth, we had keeper sent off straight away, then linesman got k.o’d, hope for more football this time.
@@aaronhartley6594 🤣🤣🤣 Hope so
Yes I was at that one. Simon Tracey steaming out and clattering their forward. Saw the linesman hit the deck out of the corner of my eye. Surreal
@@peterjohnson1046 that’s the one, was even on the main news at ten in the pub stop on the way back, definitely surreal
If we keep Ritchie and Dozy on the bench we may stand half a chance - 1:1
@@glmblue Ritchie has looked so nervous since his return, nitvyet what I was expecting.
0-1 to Sheffield United. Can't see Pompey scoring against the 2nd best defence in the league sorry.
@DeclanGaming323 stats would say its unlikely, but you never know
Famous Blades you didn’t mention include: Michael Palin, Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Joe Root, Paul Heaton, Jessica Ennis. Looking forward to a good game, but we will win sorry = 0-2 ⚔️
@tomcrookes5689 don't be sorry, we're used to it this season 😭🤣
@@pompeypod TBF so were we last year 🫣
alex fitzpatrick is a blade also
Jessica Ennis and Paul Heaton jumped ship as fast as they could when United had some bad press, wouldn’t give either of them the time of day.
Best performance of the season so far, we’re definitely heading in the right direction, CB partnership looked strong, Murphy looks like a steal, can see a Pompey win on Saturday 2-0
Late goals happen because players are tired. Portsmouth players did a lot of hard graft and couldn't keep it up.
@TheIng123 this late goal happened due to a back heel from a player who'd been on the pitch for less than 30 mins. None of the 'tired' players put a foot wrong IMO
Drop him
Thanks for the mention. Fair summary of the game. This week I am going for a win to Pompey 3-2. No thats not a joke. Dan will probably go for a 5-0 defeat with Ritchie a non starter, Norris bringing on his sleeping bag and JM making 11 changes at thr 70 minute mark. I am not that cruel. PUP.
@davidharrison9728 play like we did 1st half last week and there's no reason we can't get a win this weekend 🔵⚽️🔵
Burnley 3 Pompey 1
Looking at Pompey team today with Saydee again the lone striker what’s the manager thinking another loss Burnley will definitely win this one by 3 goals
Is there a case to say that Pompey have made too many changes from the promotion side? The manager seems to prefer his new signings.over some of the guys that got.Pompey up such as Moxon. Derby and.Oxford have more or less the same teams that got them up and have carried over that togetherness. Whereas Pompey seem to be starting from scratch again. What's your thoughts?
@fortyyards1397 I don't think so. The core of the team is still there and most new players are being introduced slowly. Injuries in key positions has been the biggest issue. To lose a striker who scored 40 goals over 2 seasons was a massive blow, but we've also played with a patched up defence too. We may well be bottom after 7 games, but we'll kick on after that.
Good preview from the opposition. Jay Rodriguez is one of our home grown players too 😅
Interesting show chaps, thank you. Win for they Clarets and a tough game. Looking forward to seeing the Pompey fans. Good luck for your season after Saturday. Being a Burnley fan I fully appreciate your efforts for getting back up the league's.
Luca Koleosho is another player to watch and Zian Flemming
Hopefully they have been working on a long ball game and set pieces during training this week. Must take the pressure of our overrun defence. 👍🏻😳
If sorrenson lacks pace , after spending a fee ? Good scouting or panic buy ?
@@christopherbarter2271 panic buy due to Colby's issue IMO
Don, don't be so pessimistic- 10-0 defeat. Really, I am more optimistic whilst I don't think we will win Burnley aren't that good. My prediction 9-0 defeat.
@@davidharrison9728 🤣
Really Dan,So pessimistic 10-0 defeat. I don't think we will win - but 9 nil is more realistic
@davidharrison9728 I think you're being a bit ambitious 😁
1-1 draw play up pompey
Can’t see us getting a result here, Burnley have good players! We are still finding our feet and injuries are still prevalent in the squad. We have nothing upfront I don’t think saydee is a natural CF… saying that he will get 2 and we will win 2-1 😂😂
@@JosephSmith-zj9uk wow, that was some handbrake turn you did there 😁
@@pompeypod I said Middlesbrough would turn us over and I said Saydee isn’t a natural forward…. That went well 😂😂
@@JosephSmith-zj9uk 🤣🤣
2~1 Pompey
@TW1ST3DG4MING I love this positive thinking 🤟🔵⚽️🔵
U need better mics boys so hard to understand u both
It's not the mics fault. They both have a strange accents and a problem talking and reading notes at the same time. Men, in general, can not multitask.
With all the big clubs that have been in the top 2 division and we are playing them in the first 7 or so games we have a better chance to see against med and bottom table teams
I think the results will come. Just need a settled team, injuries have done us. When we have a settled back 4 the rest works itself out. Up the shagging blues!! Mousinho in!! 😂😂
@@JosephSmith-zj9uk beautifully put 😉🔵⚽️🔵
I'm certainly not panicking we have 3 points ok 2 losses but both of those are against the top 2 clubs in championship by far we will find out winning ways anyway mid table would be a good place for us for a couple of years to stabilise keep manager and players back them PUP I've supported club since 1976 been thru it all we are the only club ever to be relegated thru no fault of player performing because club went into reservership only so we are now a great club again with proper financial backing beat supported club ever unlike scummers who only follow there team when they are in premier league which won't be long
@@SpencerBrown-g9u well said 👏👏👏
Agree McIntryre looks good but him and Poole as a CB pairing would be too small. Maybe go to a back 3 with wingbacks and Kamara, Pack and Potts in a midfield 3. Could Lang play in a front 2 with Sorensen / Yengi / OMahoney? Saydee is not a number 9 and Dozzell is no better than Moxon
Moxon is acrually better than dozzell imo
What's going on at FP with all these injuries? Why do our players seem to fall over when they haven't even been playing? Training ground injuries? I think it is worth remembering that we were two minutes from a win away at Middlesborough. And we were ahead at Leeds until injury time. So some good things have already happened this season
@@chrispark9343 Terrible luck? Poor training pitch? Bad training methods? Signing injury prone players? IDK 🤷♂️
Jm seems very guarded in interviews.not truthful.lied about shaughnessie.ritchies a disgrace too hand out a 2yr deal to a man that's only played 500mins in 2 yrs.he will be allowed too disappear.goalkeeper a big worry.3 men req too take a goalkick.what is all that about.no impact up front.no idea how they can pick a team too up their game.saydee not a 90min centre forward only an impact 20minute sub.
@keithlimburn2791 I agree on Ritchie and Saydee points, but I'd say clearly Colby was due to be our main striker and to lose him was a big blow. 3 on goalkicks is pretty standard these days as teams aim to play out from the back, blame/thank Guadiola for that one. I don't think Norris is an issue. Makes the odd mistake (as many do) but he has also kept us in 2 games this season, as well as making big saves in others. Finally, I'm not sure the JM comments are accurate IMO. Did he lie about Shaughs? Is he guarded? Think he is a young manager, learning his trade in a high-pressure environment, and actually done a pretty decent job so far.
I wasn't expecting any points until October so I'm not panicking yet
@a9p528 exactly that. At the start of the season I thought we'd have none after 3 games and maybe 3 or 4 after 7 games. Far too many losing g their minds already.
Most Pompey fans knew at the end of last season that that squad couldn’t compete in the championship. Unfortunately the staff didn’t agree. Not easy bringing in top quality players ,when you’re not the biggest fish in the pond anymore and you don’t want to pay the going rate. The fixture list has been horrendous to us, but any Pompey fan who doesn’t see the complete lack of quality in the squad is holding their telescope up to their blind eye. After Burnley and Sheffield thump us, I suspect it ain’t gonna get any easier, like everyone is hoping and expecting. I hope I’m wrong. Is there a solution? All you can do is change the system and try and take some pressure off that weak defence. Where the goals are gonna come from I can’t see…..
I don't think we were ever going to spend massively this summer, or hike up the salaries paid by 200-300%, so this definitely limits the players you can aim for. That said, they seem to be getting for right than wrong. Defence will improve once Shaughs, McIntrye and Poole all fully fit, although I feel they should've signed one more early in the window as we knew they were some weeks off fitness. Biggest issue IMO is up top. For all his endeavour, Saydee is not a CF, and there must be question marks over Sorensen's ability at this level for him not to be playing. It's going to be a long season, but, too early to write us off yet.
JM is too inexperienced for the Championship and he is being controlled from behind the scenes by the money men (buy cheap, sell expensive). His interviews are scripted as are his injury reports. How do we get so many injuries to players who , supposedly, were rarely injured when playing for other teams?? Are we pushing them too hard as soon as they join Pompey. Are we finding out exactly their fitness level before intense training is loaded on them? Are we fielding a team made up of lower level players and too few experienced players? IMO we are. Players who got us promoted were shown the door because they were "too old". We had a mainly good team last season in L1., but they weren't rewarded with even a chance at the higher level. Yes some needed to be moved on as they didn't feature much anyway; Yes we needed to bring in some younger players to mix with the experienced players; Yes we needed a player or two to strengthen some weaknesses; No we didn't need wholesale sackings so we had space in the budget for inexperienced and unproven players. One or two of the new players look like they will make the grade but I expect the rest will prove another waste of money. L1 here we come unless things change quickly.
A lot to unpack there David, with many questions, which I guess is only natural when you sit 2nd bottom with 3 points after 5 games. Re Mousinho's champ exp, you're right, he has none and he may be learning as he goes. But Pep Guardiola had NO managerial exp AT ALL when he was given the Barca job, and he did OK in the end. I think JM has good principles, ethics and man management skills, so I trust him to do the job for now. If we're in the same position come mid-December, then I'd be more worried. Our biggest issue is lack of striker atm, which they couldn't have planned for as they couldn't have predicted the Colby issue.
@@pompeypod Agreed that the Colby situation was a shock but even before that it was clear that we needed another striker. Yengi is potentially good but spends more time injured than actually playing and his playing style, doesn't fit into JM's vision. Saying we can't afford the transfer fee or weekly wages for a good striker is a load of rubbish. There would be very little difference in overall cost in getting one proven striker as opposed to 5 players who will disappear on frees to lower league clubs. The odd one may make the grade but most won't.. Bring in Harry Redknapp as an adviser to JM. Harry may be old and has numerous faults but he knows how to set up a team and aplans, has many contacts to get good players that are value and can inspire a team.
Mousinho in
For me Mousinho is a young manager and he’s still learning his way in the championship and he’s had a tough start to life in the championship as well, I agree he got things wrong on Sunday but no manager is perfect, hopefully once he starts playing our better players and we get some of our better players back from injury, then we’ll be ok. In Mousinho I trust. 👍🏻
@@harrytwood likewise Harry. There is a degree of sarcasm in the title aimed at the few that have wet the bed in the last 2 weeks.
ARE U FOR REAL ? AFTER ALL INJURIES HES HAD TO DEAL WITH AND TOUGHEST RUN FIXTURES THE EFL CHAMPS CAN SELECT ? GIVE HIM A BREAK PUP
@stevebarter4221 Clearly, you didn't watch ANY of this, but thanks for getting involved.
@@pompeypod well when I saw a That On screen caption I wearnt gonna waste my time listening to it. Even if pompey get relegated JM is the man to take us back up if he stuck around. Long way to go yet. Just need to get through this differcult run of games and get his back established after all the injuries we have had. POMPEY TILL I DIE
@stevebarter4221 key part of the caption is the question mark, ie we are questioning why some people are actually saying this already. JM is doing a great job IMO (despite the tough start) and I'm confident we'll be safe this season under him.
Corbaran's first season he took over Albion and we were in the relegation zone and by the end of the season just missed out on the play offs. Second season he got us into the play offs where we lost to the eventual winners Southamption. Considering the financial mire we are in thanks to the Chinese finger who drove us into the ground and sucked money out of the club he is doing a fantastic job and somehow he has made us stronger this season bearing in mind we got shot of 12 players in the close season. He is arguably the best manager outside the Premiership.
Keep predicting wins 😂

@philsummers9931 I'd take a draw tbh after our tough start, we can't afford to ose another at home, even this early on. What do you think of Pompey's Oz contingent, Yengi, Silvera and Farrell?
