I was at that Milk Cup final against Norwich. Apart from the result, including missing a penalty, it was one of the best match atmospheres I have ever been at. Ha’way the Lads, 2-1 Sunderland win

As a Sunderland fan. It's always entertaining to hear other supporters discover just how successful we have been in the history books. 😂. We are very much forgotten about up here.
No matter how successful we have been in history. I don't feel confident about Saturday. We never had a good record at Fratton Park.
As an Safc fan i’ll be happy with a draw, ecstatic with a win. Always been tough games for us over my 45 odd years supporting the lads at Fratton. 🇵🇪
@lmillssafc tbh I think we'd take a draw too. We've had/still have a challenging run of games to start life back in the champ, and with a few players still out injured, we'll take as much as we can from these games.
The friendship trophy came about as it was one of the first major games after the Hysell disaster and all the troubles in football at that time.

Re the Norwich game, i was dressed up as a black cat...we had cleared out all the off licenses and knocked on the doors of the Norwich coaches on Wembley Way and gave them free beers, they were scared as f... then they realized we were good blokes

Regardless of our previous 3 games (Safc fan), this is the sort of game (Pompey away) that I'd tend to pick out as a barometer as to how we are playing. Could easily go either way.
@piiingthiiing Surely, the Burnley game was a decent barometre for you. We'll be a test for your lot physically, so I guess you'll see how much your boys are up for a battle
