$kychild - heavy jam [Elektron AR & Hapax & Electroharmonix]
Просмотров 31610 месяцев назад
Here is a small & imperfect jam with sound solely generated by Elektron's Analog Rytm, being partially controlled by the Squarp Hapax and sent through an Elektroharmonix distortion & compression pedal. Heavy, crunchy sounds and interesting rhythmic patterning. I hope you enjoy! (AI green screen and background added to replace my generally messy bedroom studio).
the whole living thing [udo super6, hapax, & jitter ambient improv]

Close your eyes. Suspend the ordinary. Behind you is the vast perennial host of enlightened beings. Their color is like glowing sapphire. They're perched on the lion's throne, and the light of their reality radiates right through you. Their sacred substance touches the jewel of your mind, like water being poured into water. [an ambient improvisation with the desktop udo super6 and squarp hapax....
Analog Rytm & Squarp Hapax: Tutorial 101
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.Год назад
A basic overview of some of the functionality of combining Elektron's Analog Rytm with the Squarp Hapax. I go over some of the algorithmic and sequencing potential of the Hapax, as well as the basics of getting the two machines to communicate with one another via MIDI. A little bit rough, but I hope its content will be helpful for anyone who is looking to use these machines in combination with ...
IDM Sketches - Analog Rytm & Squarp Hapax [無跡]

Renegade Rave - liveset practice - Polyend Play & pedals
Просмотров 294Год назад
Preparing for a performance at a small forest rave next week. Here I am using the Polyend Play in combination with an array of pedals, including a compressor/distortion/filter pedal from Electroharmonix on the main outs, as well as a send going to a serially connected Microcosm and Strymon Nightsky. Thank you for the view, I hope you enjoy these sounds : )

Korg Wavestate: Real-Time Programming Pt. 2
7:53 This is great. Users have to know that the Wavestate does not have a simple "copy layer" --> "paste layer" utility. That's a big deal. It took a long time for me to realize that a layer is a program (i.e. a patch), so you have to save that program before you can load it into another layer. It takes some getting used to: having to name and save something before copy-and-pasting it!
A killer title for this video would be: "BlueCliff Shreds!!!!!"
Great composition ❤ 🔥 subscribed
Having spent £700 on one of these recently, the sound that was produced throughout to to end was really pretty mediocre. Maybe the people who are loving this sound are very easily pleased. I'm not.. there are some amazing sounds this machine can accomplish. It's these amazing sounds that we want to learn to program into it. Even a cheap Casio can make sounds much better than that...
Thanks for this. I have a major project using the Wavestate as my primary synth, and my timbres will be developed from the multi sample simplicity long before any evolution in the channels is added. Your video is helping me get my head around the menus as I work.
did the firmware not support drum tracks at this point? trying to understand the use of the harmonizer effects and wonder if it accomplishes the same end as drum tracks in this case
I was using the harmonizer to repitch the drum tracks to the necessary range for triggering the AR voices~ Hope this clarifies things. There might be a better way to do it; if so, do let me know!
This is one of the rare (and one of the best) IDM examples on MPC I can find on youtube. I just came up on an MPC and make either jazz-fusion, hip-hop, or wonky IDM/glitch. Have you since abandoned the MPC? I know Elektron gear is a big go-to for IDM and faster paced electronic music on that style and I see your more recent videos are using Elektron gear.
hey! thanks for listening and the encouraging words 🙏🏼 i have been abroad and had to pare down my setup, so presently the MPC is in storage. i have been working with Elektron gear and MaxMSP but have been caught up in the flow of responsibilities outside of music recently and not posting. comments like these are encouraging though and I will try to upload some more vids soon. Elektron can generate some wild variation and are very playable, making them well-suited for IDM. I am presently working with the Digitakt 2 and Syntakt. I do love the MPC though and would say that it is overall far more customizable and comprehensive than Elektron boxes. Whatever one works with, what’s most important is a) enjoying one’s self and b) making music. happy creating :-)
this is a really wicked beat. great setup using those two together. well done!
@@eurotium 🙏🏼
It sounds great! I would love to see the patching!
so nice
Super dope!
Good tutorial , love the recording feature you walked though.
Unfortunately I ended up sending my wavestate back and getting the opsix, I think the wavestate is great but is more useful to me in the form of a vst instead of hardware
Thank you But I want in one layer on every key the same drum sound, not higher and deeper. How to do it?
Thank you very much for your tutorial. Very clear und logical. But... I dont understand the relations between - wave lane - wave sequence - program Also a question about the program: When I load a Single Multisample or a Wave Sequence on A, it shows on the layer programm "Init program". Why? Same issue: On my presets, it shows on Layer programs on one performance on A "Organ1, but on Single Multisample i shows "Syn: White Pad". Why it shows not the same? And more difficult: If I change the program, than the multisample change. If I come back to the program "Organ1", now than it plays "Organ1". Thank you!

I particularly appreciate what you are showing here. But may I suggest that you drag and drop your LED display to overlap one of the two areas toward the lower left that you said we won't be using? This way, we can learn from seeing and remembering which buttons you used and how, in the area whose view is now blocked by the image of the display, or place it immediately above the upper edge of the unit, where we now see a blanket underneath, if fact placing it off-center will completely avoid our camera lens and prevent it from effectively creating a cut out. I think it will really assist those of us who only recently bought our Wavestate, and may have the most to learn. Thanks and I hope you'll continue to create these tutorials for us!
Well the thing you said at the beginning about not being able to “manipulate the samples” is completely wrong. That’s what modulation is all about. You can change the shape, start time, end time, pitch, ext.
Can the tempo divisions on the hapax be modulated by the LFO?
I do not think so : / But you can modulate the tempo via MaxMSP (or other similar software) quite easily.
Hi man this is dope expands the Rytm to new levels! Can you control all Rytm tracks simultaneously ? Or is there a limit?
Hi this is wonderful stuff!!! Could i ask can you change the tempo of the Rytm with the Hapax? Like allocate an LFO to tempo/clock of project? I love the Algorave vibes but sadly i dont code so looking for a hardware solution…?
This video sold me on the wavestate. Best explanation by far. Thanks for a great video.
Great video dude
MAGIC...Love this!
Very impressive! Just got my first MPC. Been an Octatrack guy for a long time but figured it would be fun to learn something new
How was the difference ? I’ve had an octa , shitload of Eurorack, etc. but been curious on mpc
@@TheGoldenWreath - to be honest, I barely understand the MPC still! I’ll say the sound quality is amazing as are the many fx. I just use mine for live shows. Chop up a bunch of mixed/mastered loops and put them into a clip program. My live shows sound much better now, but I still write most of my music on Elektron machines
@@thesnipecatcher116 any problems with the cpu? Or are you always aware of it ?
@@TheGoldenWreath - the way I’m going it, each ‘project’ is a full sets worth of clips. 8 sets or songs per project is usually more than enough for me and I haven’t had any CPU issues
sounds are great, but when he presses the keys they are very noisy
This is not for me! It’s waaaay too complicated. I bought this sinth about 3 years ago and have hardly used it
this is awesome
amazing performance and artistry. If i only could afford a wavestate(
Awesome explanation and demo! Thanks!
I thought it was pronounced con-Sat-e-nate as in concertina. Good tutorial, a very cool way of making beautiful sounds.
how do you record/route the audio from maxmsp into ableton?
this might be one of the coolest rytm vids i’ve seen yet
thanks!
Can your patterns be in any time signature? Or do you only get rigid options 4/4 etc.
Hapax doesn’t work by time signatures but by total number of steps. With 16th note resolution, a time signature of 4/4 would be a length of 16 steps. You can have between 2 and 64 steps per track at anywhere between 50-200% the tempo. The grid can be zoomed in for more detailed programming at greater subdivisions.
Can this be done with the software also?
not sure, but probably? i always work in standalone mode.
Jus the tutorial I was looking 4
I have used the Deluge to sequence my RYTM mk1, because I could see what was happening better, but I went back to the RYTM sequencer because of gradual quantization. Now the Deluge has gradual quantization. Also in the Deluge there's no track limit so can have the full 12 RYTM tracks in one place. Also deluge has unlimited bar length per pattern.
Don't think you need RYTM seqeuncer running (doesn't need to receive clock or transport) unless you are using seqencer info on the RYTM. You are basically using the RYTM as a drum synth with all Data and the time it happens being controlled by the Hapax.
Awesome tutorial, thank you !
Nice! I've been looking for some hapax tutorials that cover the newest firmware update. Subscribing to your channel in hopes of more hapax content!
Instant Boards of Canada machine!
I wonder if you can have granularization effect by modifying a delay time from step seq lane... And also as you can load your own samples into WS now you can slice a sample and load the slices to put them on the sample lane
tks a lot dude!!!!
DUDE! Was looking for this exact thing! Thank you! You got my gears are turning. PLUGINS? Heck, this is better! Need a vocal vowel wavetable. Oohhh, wave step! ;)
Fantastic video. I was considering this synth purely as a multi-timbral synth, without particularly caring for the whole wave sequencing aspect. Your video has shown this is totally viable - although part of me thinks the Modwave is the smarter choice if you're going to ignore the wave sequencing (admittedly that's only two-part multi-tim, though, not four like the WS.)
Yeah
∂örty ∂issy - nice¡
ありがとうございます!
Why is it so horribly out of tune?? Are you using some weird microtuning or something?
hell yea
Good shit
thanks drawdy 🙂
Great patch! Any chance doing tutorial on that?
