Your Goal Blueprint To Make Clear & Simple Resolutions You Can Actually Reach Free Goal Worksheet
Good 🎉
I have the apple watch series 6 and only really use it for exercising (& I’d use it for sleep if it weren’t for battery and I am now convinced the Garmin would be so much better for me. Thank you!
Happy to help!
Awesome video
Thanks!
Girl get those knees up!
You can place calls from the watch but you first have to define the contactpersons
Neat, I’ll have to look into that
@katiegarrisonfitness i checked: you can also dial a number on the Venu 3. So you don't really need even to choose contact persons
Loved the review. Well regarding the last point (under Cons), this watch is supposed to have Find my phone feature which when connected to your phone via bluetooth is supposed to make your phone ring. You probably have figured it out on your own, or if not, maybe give it a try :) Btw, I am patiently waiting for my Venu 3S which probably will arrive tonight.
No problem! Yeah, I found the “find my phone” after uploading this, although it is kind of finicky and only works some of the time. Exciting! Hope you enjoy it!
I also had ankle surgery and now it's been three months and I still haven't got the confidence. Can I run again please reply ma'am.
Confidence takes time to build for sure! That’s something to talk to your PT or Dr about, hope you have a speedy recovery!
Now you get that leg feeling that you will do anything
Thank you for doing this, a couple things to note for people who are making a potential purchase. You can control music and it has offline Spotify. Secondly it does have an app Store, albeit it's more sports focused than Apple's app Store.
Awesome! Thanks for pointing those out!
really really good ive been searching it for days, and funny enough chatgpt recommend ur video
Thanks for the comparison. I love my Garmin Instinct. For me, it has everything I need.
No problem, glad it’s working for you!
Any tips for tank weight equivalent for women training with a sled ?
Sure thing! Since both the Torque & Xybex are magnetic resistance, the resistance varies based on how fast you push/pull. Torque has a helpful chart on their FAQ page here so you can get an idea in lb! (Scroll to Q9) www.torquefitness.com/pages/tank-faq
It's an amazing allrounder. But if you go hardcore into sports the ForeRunner 265(s) offers more detailed statistics.
Also I have no issue with voice dictation on my iPhone for text messages while connected with my watch. Maybe try adding voice assistant on their Garmin connect App. After setting it up I had to turn my devices off and turn it back on to be able to use it
That did the trick! Inconvenient that you have to jump through an extra hoop to make it work, but glad to be able to voice dictate again! Thanks for the tip!
I cannot wait to try this🔥💪🏽
You got this!👏🏼⚡️
That proprietary cable sucks. Close to being a deal breaker but, we shall see. I don't have a pocket husband with his own accessories to complement my gear 😂. (Life goals lol.)
I’m learning so much from you guys! I’ve gotten some pretty awesome tips from viewers, so make sure to read down the comments to learn about some things I missed in the video! I’m pretty new to tech reviews and am always looking to improve my content, I realized I missed a few things here. Thanks for helping me learn as I work on making even better content!🫶🏼
2 to 3 weeks of battery life?? What a bunch of lies. 5 to 6 days is a max for this watch!! And it’s not only mine experience of the watch
Thanks for pointing that out! I forgot to add the asterisk there, I misspoke and meant to say 1-3 weeks depending on which mode you have it set to. If the GPS is off & you have battery saver on, it lasts 3 weeks. If it’s in normal mode then it’s around 1. But I have taken it to 3 weeks before. We had a 2 week trip to the UK and I forgot to bring our charger, I took mine to 3 weeks before we finally found another charger. So it can be done!
That's still soooo much better than most smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch barely lasts a day. Apple watch like 2-3 days max.
I'm debating getting this watch, but use my apple watch to control podcasts and music playing from my phone so it's a key feature for me. I did some googling and apparently you CAN control your phone playing from your watch? Using the music widget and changing music provider to phone. Are you able to test that out and see if its true?
Sure thing & I stand corrected! Press the middle button and find the music icon, once you start music or a pod from your phone you can pause, play, go forward/back 5sec, or skip! The only catch is it must be in Bluetooth range.
@@katiegarrisonfitness omg yay thank you!!! It was such small/big thing in trying to decide which watch to go with! I'm looking between the Instinct 2S and this one
Happy to help! Ooh hard choice, both are fantastic options!
@@katiegarrisonfitnessI decided to try out the instinct 2S since I climb. Also wanted to see if I would like more old school feeling watch. We’ll see how it goes 😅
Awesome! My hubs loves his Instinct solar, hope you enjoy yours too!
Very helpful! My Venu 3s arrives tomorrow, and I am so excited!
Awesome! Welcome to the club!
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Not sure what you mean friend, try asking someone else. Thanks for the engagement!
I have both AW 10 and Garmin venu 3s and I prefer garmin am looking for health and fitness tracker not into all notifications and such so Garmin it is
That’s awesome! Apple was convenient, but kept me constantly checking notifications, I like that I’m not constantly glued to my watch too👌🏼
What a great review and good timing as I am about to purchase a garmin venu 3s after having an iWatch for several years but decided to leave the Apple eco system and already bought a samsung phone...now need a new watch with long battery life and great fitness features so hope this will be the one 😊 thanks again, very useful video
Welcome to the Garmin club! Glad I could help!
This is so helpful! Found this while researching a bit before buying on Black Friday. Also love that you’re filming in the nursery 😅
Glad it helped you! Haha with a 3mo old it’s the only spot in the house that’s semi-clean😅
You can ping your phone! Press and hold top right button and there’s a ‘find my phone’ I have an iPhone and use this feature all the time! Lol
You literally saved my life!! Now it’s confirmed, this watch IS the BEST!! My husband says a big thank you!
Thanks for doing this review! Very helpful.
You bet, glad it helped!
100 cal = 44%? Oh 4.4% 100/2250 = 4.4% Being 44% off = really bad 4.4% off = very good
I can’t even sit up strait with my feet up..
That’s the first step then! You got this!
@ thanks!
Love your videos could you do a video on proper ram burpee… adding the new updates 🙏
Glad you like them! There’s been yet another rule book update earlier this month, so that’s definitely a need. I’ll probably do another series later this year, thanks for the suggestion!
Shout out to the MZ team, both times after I had my ACL surgery & had my son I missed 2 months each. Instead of dropping my rank status, I emailed them & they froze my status during those months I missed MEPs for medical reasons so I didn’t lose my hard earned status! Love that!
This is a great video with some great tips.Thank you for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the great video and for all your support
No problem! Deka made me feel like an athlete again and gave me purpose in my fitness & I love sharing that passion with others! Thanks for all you do!
Great tips 👍
Were you on crutches?
Oh yeah! I was on crutches for almost a whole month, 2 for 2.5 weeks and then I went down to 1 crutch for another 1.5 weeks before I could get around solo
@@katiegarrisonfitness Were you non weight bearing?
No, I was able to beat weight soon after surgery, but only partial and because of my meniscus repair my brace was locked for the first few weeks. That made it weird and I had to peg leg around til the internal stitches healed up.
Hi love. Just found this
Hey, super fun! Glad you’re here!
Please do a follow along workout for DEKA fit . 30 minutes.
I don’t do follow along workouts, I have a bunch of training tips & strategy videos you can apply to your training! Here’s my Deka playlist! ruclips.net/p/PLAWbkbNkchgnGM2SaoRhbKmSHdHLYPc6v&si=N5c2fKvZ1u8m0luN
Im doing my first DEKA Mile at the end of this month! Super helpful video and link to the rulebook! Thank you so much!
No problem! Best of luck on your Mile!👏🏼
Thanks for this info! I know some of the rules have changed. I watched your other video. Question: If you're in a 2 person team, are you able to change out during specific zones if you tag them in? I know with the tank you have to do a full push and pull before switching but what about the other zones?
Sure thing! With any of the other zones (aside from 6 & 9 like you said) you can swap at any time, no need to tag! The only time you have to tag is when you’re between a zone or a run.
I have an MZ1 for several years, and I like it, but the frustrating thing is it sometimes takes a long time to connect to the app. Is the MZ3 more reliable that way, or is there something I need to do with the one I have now?
Good question, my husband is using my old MZ1 now & it’s still working great after 5 years so it shouldn’t be its age. It could be an issue with your phone’s Bluetooth connection, I’m not sure. If it becomes a problem reach out to MyZone support.
The first time I’ll get to use the erg is at my race. Can you suggest some training exercises I can do to prep?
Sure thing! I have an entire series on how to train for Deka even if you don’t have the equipment! Here’s the ski video: ruclips.net/video/IqOzAjB0OZ0/видео.htmlsi=l0bsT9quqwu4YqZp
Re: tank push/pull... you mention the Xebex XT3 but show the TANK M4 in the demo, which one is the DEKA standard?
Both are legal in events. It’s up to the gym which one they buy so you could encounter either one. Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of the Xebex tanks used at Fit events & they were at World Champs last year
What if you fail a zone?
Deka recently put out penalty rules. 80% of the zones reps/meters/calories are required to be considered an official finisher. Failure to complete >80% of a zone or skipping a zone would be a DQ. No global leaderboard time, but you’d still get a finisher medal & shirt! Check out the table in the official rule book for specifics: dekafit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044766533-DEKA-Official-Rulebook
What’s the approximate weight you’re push/pulling of the tank (men’s)?
Torque has a helpful chart in this article, scroll to “How do the TANK resistance & difficulty levels work?” The chart shows what weight you’re pushing at specific speeds. Hope this helps! www.torquefitness.com/pages/tank-faq
Anyone else getting joy out of the fact that her Husband's name is Mr. Garrison??? lol Great video
I nearly didn't sign up to this but my gym buddy with 2 kids said she was gonna do it so I didn't want to flake out. I did it this morning and got 6th place UK! So want to encourage all those thinking about it to celebrate every win. Only a small percentage of population make that leap to sign up in the first place. It's a sign of dedication and success mindset. And ignore the negative comment about posting the Deka mile instead. Surround yourself with those cheering for you instead. We all have to start our journey somewhere.
That's amazing!! Congrats!! I totally agree, it's totally worth it <3
My daughter gave me the MZ 1 and I happened upon you looking for info on how to use it. Just a suggestion - you are a little hard to hear especially compared to the short burst of music at the beginning. Invest in a decent microphone - there are several options out there. I am a mobile DJ and I do not sell gear. My personal favorite is made by DJI - if that's too pricey there are many others. Improved audio will improve your audience experience. Good Luck
Thanks for the suggestion & glad you enjoyed the video!
Great advice!
Good advice about training at a lower intensity as many people feel that in order to improve they just have to do Hiit all the time
Exactly! Lower intensities are great for aerobic base building, they’re so much more sustainable, and easier to recover from. There’s a time and place for HIIT, but it’s definitely not all the time!
I love your videos. They are so helpful. I have my first Deka Strong in one week and I'm nervous but excited!
Glad they’ve helped your training! That’s so awesome!! Good luck on your Strong, let me know how it goes👏🏼
Thanks for the video. Tomorrow starting my Deka training. Only lunging I’ve ever done was for a slice of pizza so I got a lot of work to do. 😢
That’s awesome, you can do it! Let me know how it goes🤘🏼
