Nice shirt
How old are you?marid?
Looks like some good choices... thanks. Ishiguro has become the favorite of many readers these days... but I haven't read his books yet.
My Cousin Rachel is the best! Love it so much more than Rebecca. First read as a teen in the 60s and have read it multiple times since.
The only one I've read is Frankienstien 😅
Of these 5 I have only read Frankenstein, which I loved. I did try 1984 but never got around to finishing it 🙈 I have also read a couple of Ishiguro books and definitely want to read more, so I might have to get The Remains of the Day from the library soon. 😁
Nice to see a My Cousin Rachel in the list, that and Rebecca i can be never decide which gets top spot 😅
Book trolleys are very awesome thing to have 🎉
Great choices and now subscribed ❤😊
1984 and Frankenstein are favorites of mine. Ive not heard od cousin rachel but i liked rebecca a lot.
I don't know how I can disagree with you so vehemently about Frankenstein and yet agree exactly about 1984! I should read some others from this list to see which way the others go
Just came across your channel. Love your perspective!
Not sure if anyone else commented on this, apologies if they did, but you missed your own pun when talking about ticking clocks " winding you up"! I laughed out loud! 😂 New to your videos, also a Sarah Waters (The Little Stranger is my fave), Daphne du Maurier lover (Rebecaa is my fave but I like MCR too, read JI and FC as a child many years ago under the covers with a torch), Stacey Halls, C.J.Cooke etc. l do like a good gothic tale and cosy mysteries. I prob shouldn't mention that I don't treat library books as reverently as you do. 😊 😱 Look forward to seeing more of your videos, Jennifer. X
Great list! My favourites are: Billiard at half ten by Heinrich Böll The summer book by Tove Janssen Anna Karenina by Tolstoy Our souls at night by Kent Haruf Shipping newws by Annie Proulx The unnecessary woman by Rabih Alameddine
I got the pink one for all my e-readers!
@@michaelaceleste4764 very nice!
Can’t wait to read affinity now
@@michaelaceleste4764 I hope you enjoy it!
I got a book trolley too!! And filled it with stationary instead 🤣 glad to see someone has managed to use one properly hahaha
You must have a lot of stationery!! 😂
40 seconds in and wonder g how many I won’t like 😂
Shock twist - #7 I really liked!! 🦄
And I liked #6 - what is happening!!
Ok, balance is being restored with #5 - I know you were talking to me 😂
#2 is a great choice! I’m starting to think you have good taste in books 😂
I was definitely talking to you! 😂
Shame on you Jennifer, you should have picked Rebecca instead of My Cousin Rachel. What’s wrong with you? Okay I’m joking, take it easy. Seriously, I really like Rebecca but I’ve never read My Cousin Rachel but now I will definitely put it on my list to read. Actually, I’m ashamed to say that I’ve only read one of the books on your list (1984). And I must say that was a terrifying book. I really want to read Frankenstein soon. In fact I was doing a little bit of research on Mary Shelley and oh brother, she had a rough life. For example, she had 4 children but 3 of them died. But anyway, thank you for the video. I did subscribe to your channel. Much respect to you from Larry in the states.
@@dab505279 thanks for your comment! Rebecca is also an excellent book! Frankenstein is such a great book, I hope you enjoy it when you get to it.
@@jenniferlovesbooksI look forward to your next video. Keep up the good work.
Great list!🎉 I read My Cousin Rachel last year and loved it! I also did a top 10 list recently but I feel like the list may evolve... I am planning to read A tree grows in Brooklyn next year as well as Stoner, so we will see what happens!!❤
@@Dawnsbookreviews thanks! I will definitely check out your video 😊
@@jenniferlovesbooks Great! Would love to hear your thoughts!!🤗📚
My all time favourite books are: The particular sadness of lemon cake by Aimee Bender 1984 by George Orwell The man who fell to Earth by Walter Tevis The trouble with goats and sheep by Joanna Cannon Little women by Louisa M Alcott Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery Everyday by David Levithan The book thief by Markus Zusak The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
@@andalltheangelssay212 great list! There's a few there that I've not read.
I’ve read and loved all of these except Affinity. Now it’s on my TBR and I can’t wait to read it.
@@toniblessing4624 oh, that's great! Sounds like we have similar taste so hopefully you will enjoy Affinity 🤞
I've read all of those except maybe Frankenstein. Never Let Me Go and the Remains of the Day are both in my top ten, out of all the books I've read I find it incredible that two are by the same author. Love Affinity also😊
@@SarahLambert-hz6tx Never Let Me Go is also a great book!
Loved your choices. I read all of those with the exception of Affinity. I liked all of them very much and The Remains of the Day is also one of my top books ❤
@@BernasBookishAdventures thanks Berna! The Remains of the Day is such a great book 😊
I thought Anne of green gables would be your favourite but glad I predicted that and my cousin Rachel. I loved Jamaica inn. Lovely to see this list and you are getting me tempted to re read the Anne series 😊
@@novellenovels thanks Emily! The Anne series is so comforting 🥰
Anne of Green Gables is so widely delightful. Just finished the Emily trilogy today, I laughed I cried. soooo good. And shoutout to Remains of the Day. Should reread that soon
@@renee_angelica oh yes, the Emily books are good too!
What a great list!! There’s only one I haven’t tried and that’s your fave Sarah Waters 😱😱 I would have guessed but I looked in the description as soon as I pressed play. I definitely would have got My cousin Rachel right and Affinity just because I know you have spoken heaps about loving those. The others make sense though too though. ❤
@@CharlieBrookReads oh interesting! You'll have to try Affinity at some point!
I agree with everything, except a few I haven’t read
pausing to guess Affinity, a Daphne Du Maurier and maybe Cursed Bread? okay, pressing play now! ▶️
@@ameliabarlowbooks good guesses! 😊
Great video! All of these are on my tbr.
@@MariaAlmeida-np3oi thank you so much 😊
Loved this Jennifer! I was actually just debating my next read, and Frankenstein was in the mix. You may have just made up my mind!
@@benreadsgood Frankenstein is so good!!
Really enjoyed this. I think you’ve done really well to narrow down a top 7!
@@BookishAdventuresInWellbeing haha, thanks!
For not being into classics, they dominate your list! Also, I love the rainbow wreath. I guessed your #1!
@@toweringtbr it's funny because I only think of Frankenstein as being a classic, the others I think of as modern classics but I guess they are not very 'modern' 😂
Best wishes on what you choose to read. I hope you get some great stories.
@@ReadingIDEAS.-uz9xk thank you!
Great choices! 📚 Frankenstein is brilliant.
@@EricKarlAnderson thank you! 😊 Yes, Frankenstein is amazing!
My favorite book of all time is A Tree Grow in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Here are some other long time favorites, though I’m sure there are others buried in my long memory: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Three Things About Elsie by Joanna Cannon, A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel, Bettyville: A Memoir by George Hodgman, Rose Cottage by Mary Stewart, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. With the exception of the first book, none are in any particular order. Thanks for your interesting list!
That's my favorite too!
@@susan3037 interesting! There's a couple on your list I haven't heard of before so I will have to look then up, thanks for sharing 😊
Great video. I love the way you talk about your favourite books. This was so thought provoking. I’ve been in a slump this month, but think Life after Life and Sarah Waters might get me out of it. I don’t reread much (so many books, so little time) but you have inspired me to revisit some old favourites. Thank you ❤❤❤
@@suzannedavies7996 thanks so much for your comment. I love revisiting old favourites, I find it very comforting.
Great list. Remains of the Day is one of my favourites too!
@@rebecca.reader Ishiguro's writing is incredible 😊
Great list :) I've read Affinity, 1984, My Cousin Rachel and The Remains of the Day. I really need to read Life After Life because it sounds like the sort of book I could love.
@@MercysBookishMusings I think you could really like Life After Life.
Fab list. My very favourite book hasn't changed since 2000 when I first visited Cornwall - Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier 😊
@@emmastinylibrary du Maurier invokes the atmosphere of Cornwall so well!
@jenniferlovesbooks she sure does!
Loved your list, Jen and what you had to say about the books, particularly Remains of the Day, My Cousin Rachel and Anne of GG. Top 7 books - 7. A Thousand Splendid Suns 6. The Great Gatsby 5. We Have Always Lived in the Castle 4. Little Women 3. Jude the Obscure 2. Anne of Green Gables 1. The Book Thief
