Is German Trucking The Best?

Thanks for watching and don’t forget to check out my video on Midtown Madness 3: ruclips.net/video/R4khQrZNOzA/видео.html Also, I decided not to include the brand Renault in this video as I was unable to find any footage of one with a German license plate on the internet. Thanks for watching. As mentioned in the video, the term "ute" is also used to refer to SUVs and pickup trucks in Australia and New Zealand, however Americans use the term "ute" to refer to specifically these smaller utility coupes. Just needed to clear that up because I know the moment this video goes live the comments will be entirely flooded by people correcting me. If you care enough to do ...

In order for us to break free, we need to popularize a flag that represents north east and west. I didn't say south bacause that slides un with east and west. And we need to get more people with guns so we could defend ourselves. Jaut sayin dont take any of this to heart. Im serious about the flag idea tho

I don't think the engine size question/power is really why cab overs aren't used for road trains, since the most powerful Euro truck has nearly 200hp over the most powerful US truck. Same for the comfort, cabovers tend to be more comfortable and luxurious than conventional bonneted ones. What you said about fires and ease of repair is very true though, I am sure that's why more old-school trucks are preferred there.

cabovers sucks: -long hooded has more power, almost always are better that cabovers -fuel efficiency is worse in cabovers, they are like 3-3,5m height wall against air and road... -almost ANY cabover does not have so comfy space for "living in a truck" for driver -I've seen so little cabovers on long distances or superheavy hauls, so they aren't so special or very good at their job...

I have a memory while traveling to Sinaloa from Zacatecas in the Durango-Mazatlan highway and right before reaching Puente Baluarte the trailers would pass downhill with Jake brakes going all out super loud with their open loud exhausts it looked super badass watching the cabs decorated with men and their families and double 53 footers stuff over there is crazy work!!!

Hgv mechanic here, I'd say as far as comfort goes the cab over is absolutely the most comfortable to drive, air suspension with the cab then also airsprung with an airsprung seat inside that, with adjustable dampers usually, are a beautifully smooth drive, there's three layers of air suspension between you and the road and they're sublime. Largely overkill really in most places but in the outback I can imagine they'd save you some spinal compression here and there. That's to drive though, a conventional truck, what I'd call a cab back style (because the cab is backward of the engine) are often far more comfortable to live in because of the extra space, the crazy kitchen setups and living spaces you see in those things are insane. Cab back to live in but a cab over to drive is for sure my preference

I worked for frdex for a while and we had a lot of city runs in tight areas and i always thought to myself why weren't cabovers used mor dor city work? We have long haul and conventional trucks are best for those but for our guys constantly going back and forth from warehouse to hub back to warehouse a cabover is best for people who drive city

I'd hate to know how many hours I racked up in the Kalmar, had a breakdown and a Terberg was brought in as a temporary replacement and it really missed the mark in the usability department. Where the Kalmar had everything in one place (5th wheel air locker, turntable control, transmission, air supply valves) you had to be an octopus to drive a Terberg anywhere near as fast. run them up to a 53 tonne (116,845lb) combination

In the late 80s/early 90s, OCTA (the transit agency in Orange County, California) used semi trailer busses for the route from Fullerton to Los Angeles, and briefly on Harbor Boulevard. There was a camera system so that the driver could see if people were paying as they boarded. They aren’t in service now, but apparently one of them is used as a maintenance office.

Speed limits for trucks in Canada are not 80 to 90 kilometers per hour. Speed limits for trucks are the Speed limits for cars except in Quebec and Ontario where trucks are governed at 105 km per hour. Most highways in Canada are 100 to 110 km per hour. Secondary Highways are 80 to 90 km per hour and are 2 lanes, one in each direction with no dividers.
