I wish Disney would release the full unedited film on dvd. This is one of my favourite films ever made but it being censored in most of it's releases keeps me from owning it. I'd like to have the entire thing. Warts and all.

The puppet is fine. It works with the story material here and even Frank Oz's voice is a bit different. The CGI just doesn't work here because it's forced to fit in with the look in the sequels, but it was unneeded.

So this might be an unpopular opinion but I think she is adorable. She has the most personality out of all the other centaurs. I understand that this is a very unfortunate depiction of a black character but she’s so cute and expressive.

Honestly, i think she is cute. I know all the implications and connotations but i simply cannot dislike her, i refuse to believe the people who created her did so in bad faith.

You know something that really grinds my gears I recently watched Fantasia on Disney plus and they have a content warning screen about the racist caricatures in the film but still cut out sunflower and okita. Leaving only the mushrooms and the zebra centaurs. so there pulling the wool over their viewers eyes. Saying they want to talk about racism while removing the two biggest racist characters in the film.

Censorship is bad.

This is the American uncensored version, in the European VHS version the Centaur females had no breast coverage.

I have never seen that uncensored version. But likewise, I think it's an injustice to "erase" the black character because it reads as a servant. Disney just took the laziest way to avoid attention to this racist-but-barely-offensive version when they could have just cleaned up the art to not appear racist by keeping some continuity between their appearances (eg why do the older centaurs have the flower bras, but the one child-like one does not?) At any rate I would rather we just all acknowledge why it was wrong to have the character appear that way, and why it was further wrong to cut the character in this lazy way.
