    Hi, i have a question about pad symptoms. I started having heavy leg plus pain and cramps. Was it a symptoms at the beginning of this journey you had to go through?

    • @CarnivorousHats
      @CarnivorousHats 15 дней назад

      Hello, so I don't ever remember having heavy leg symptoms, but cramping yes. I was in the police academy and my left calf would cramp up, like the worst cramping ever and would stay like that until I stopping running, then after a few minutes of rest it would start going away. I think it would be wise of you to see a Dr about what you're feeling. If you have any other questions just please ask.

    Thank you, I’m 41 and today I’ve realized I probably have this. My dad was diagnosed just over a year ago. I’ve seen in myself the hairloss on my shins, a few soars that won’t go away-keep scabbing over on my legs, weak low energy in legs for as long as I can remember. I’m 5’8 and have his gut also lol….So, my Real question is what would you do if you could go back to your 40 year old self knowing what u know today.?? Any advice?? Thank you for this channel.

      I'm sorry to your father and you. First off I'd say you need to find a good vascular surgeon, if you have Facebook search and join Peripheral Artery disease (Pad) Support. The person who runs it can give you names of great vascular surgeons, you don't want just anyone. Also, I'm not a dr and just trying to figure out what works best for me. For what I would tell myself... First off I would absolutely stop eating any carbs. I can tell now that the inflammation that comes from eating carbs makes my symptoms worse, even though I'm doing really good and don't usually have any anymore. Also my a1c wasn't high enough for Dr's to ever care but now that I look back, mine was in the pre-diabetes range. 2nd, I would definitely make sure I was taking fish oil. 3rd. Walk.... I walk almost everyday. I bought a treadmill and walk on an incline every time I walk. Sometimes 10% incline but most days I walk at 2.5-3% incline.

    Your are getting started. Great job! I’m 2 years in carnivore. I remember what it was like at the beginning. The mindset changes that take place are challenging. In my experience when I decided that no plants would ever again enter my mouth, my resolve grew and being healthy became the only thing in focus. The toxins in processed foods and plants. The terrible garbage that restaurants put in the food. Now I’m focused even on water. The results are amazing the freedom is incredible, the new lifestyle is now permanent. I encourage you to get to the mindset.

    Wow!! I just found out I have PAD but I’ve had diabetes for years and neuropathy in my feet ulcers toe amputations ect .. Just had an angioplasty but they said no stents were needed but artery in my left leg from knee down Is 100 blocked but the artery on side is large and supplying the blood flow I haven’t had my follow up yet so idk if their gonna do anything I’m on plavix too. My dad swears if i do carnivore it’ll cure my diabetes I just wish I liked meat as much as he does . Hope your doing well

      Thanks and I'm doing really well. I agree with your dad that going carnivore would absolutely cure your diabetes. If you have trouble with just eating just meat you could try keto. I've heard of lots of people fixing their diabetes with keto also. Sorry to hear about you having pad also, and having a 100% blockage. Lately I haven't been very carnivore but have been doing a ton of fasting. I hope things go well for you.

    • @CarnivorousHats
      @CarnivorousHats 4 месяца назад

      @@anir8023 We do like the carnivore way of eating but we haven't been full carnivore in a while. I absolutely think it could be sustainable, although we found it harder to do with the social aspect of it. Going out to dinner was always more expensive when you have to buy steak. Or when you just want the burger patty it wasn't any cheaper to not get the bun or sides. I think I like fasting and eating lower carb better, just because I think its easier day to day. I see lots of people who are full carnivore all the time so it's doable for sure.

    Just a small suggestion but try omad consistently and eliminate the cheesecake! Lol... but seriously you will need to eliminate sugars and the ugly carbs (white bread, fried foods, pasta, etc) Also weighing in so much doesn't really matter. I weigh in once a month to have a more accurate assessment of weight loss.

    I had the same surgery 4 years ago and I ended up gaining 120 pounds in the year it took to complete artery replacement, over the last 3 years I managed to take 30 pounds off and gained it back. I started on keto now doing Carnivore. I'm down 30 pounds and really hoping this diet keeps my arterys clean and by summer see 180-190. Oh yea quit smoking and drinking, walking and biking 1-2 miles a day hoping for improvement.

      Sorry it took so long to respond but good job! We haven't been strict carnivore for a while but we did do 8 months strict. I felt really good but didn't lose anymore weight. I'm now trying to just stay low carb but have been struggling. Nice job on the walking, if there's one thing I'm doing really well at, it's the walking part.

    So i see you dont have any further videoes. I am curious if you are still on carnivore and how you are doing. My husband had surgery for PAD and i am not sure if carnivore is the right thing for him or not. I have been doing carnivore for about a week myself.

    • @CarnivorousHats
      @CarnivorousHats 9 месяцев назад

      Hello! First off, I'm sorry to hear about your husband and having PAD. Even though we haven't put out any videos we did strict carnivore for 8 months. Since then we have still mostly been carnivore. Sometimes we will go out to eat and just enjoy whatever we are wanting, but then go back to carnivore. I'd say we are 90-95% carnivore. I think my PAD is much better on this way of eating. I've found a few different Dr's who promote carnivore for anyone with vascular or heart issues and feel like the information they give is better than the standard of care or diet that most Dr's give (Dr Ovadia who is a cardiologist, Dr Berry). In the year or so that we've been carnivore my walking distance has dramatically increased. A year ago I could walk a mile, now I'm walking 2.5 miles on an incline. Weather he does carnivore or not, he has to walk, and when it hurts, walk more.

    • @CarnivorousHats
      @CarnivorousHats 9 месяцев назад

      Also you can join this FB group if you want some support for PAD. They aren't into carnivore, but you can still get good information from them. facebook.com/groups/peripheralarterialdisease/ Peripheral artery disease (PAD) Support is the page.

    Good to see you're doing well. My dad is suppose to have this done soon. I can't find a good video that tells me what they do & how. Like do they move one vein to another area? Or do they use artificial vein ? I'm guessing have no clue.

    • @CarnivorousHats
      @CarnivorousHats Год назад

      I’m sorry your father is going through this. So here’s what I was told by my surgeon and how we did it. I went in for a scan and they mapped out my left and right leg to see which veins looked the best. I had a good vein in each leg, so we went with the left leg so that I would only be opened up on one side. If I didn’t have any veins that looked suitable, we would have used a vein from a pig. Downside from the pig vein is that they don’t last as long as our own veins. During surgery they made an incision on the inside of my calf and thigh. They then harvest the vein, and then attached it to my femoral artery above the problem area and stretched it all the way down into my calf where they attached it to the artery. They also had extra of the harvested vein, so they did another small bypass from the new vein to a different artery in my calf. I was in good shape prior to having my first clot. I lifted for years, did CrossFit, and had went through the police academy a year and a half or so prior to my bypass and it was tough recovery. If you have any more questions or anything, please ask. If you have instagram you can find me there under the same name for easier communication.

    For me, the carnivore diet helped get rid of my food addiction. Then I found out dairy has morphine unit. So we find ourselves eating cheese to get the dopamine hit that we used to get from eating carbs and sugar. I’m staying away from cheese, because of my addiction problems

I love how creative your meals are, but they also seem ACTUALLY delicious; I see so many carnivore diet videos where they're only eating steak with salt and liver with salt, and that's it lol! The first meal would have been SO GOOD with some cheese sauce on top. Or maybe that's just me being extra lol Also congratulations on your weight loss!
