Killshot classic conversion to pump e85
Tried my best to switch the Taheo over to e85 just using a handheld and road tripping it from central KY to southern TN. Did as much as I could in the handheld and did not have to get the laptop out until I wanted to adjust the tip in fuel. I bought a kill shot kit and hooked it up to my msd setup and it will not start. No spark at all . Not happy
How do you have it set up.
Hello again I locked out my msd dist plugged in the VR wire from the killshot to dist. And ran the points wire to the point wire in the msd. And now I have no spark, did you ever have an issue like that.
Make sure it is selected as magnetic in the setup wizard

Wouldn’t you have to have stock size wheels and tires for the VSS calibration?
Nope it just need the numbers for gear ratio and wheel size so that the shift schedule is correct. You could put 40” wheels on there and if it is adjusted correct it will shift at the correct speed.

I made changes to my acceleration correction vs tps and the massive bog is still there. I’ve tried slight changes to swing for the fence and it’s still the same. Also what exactly does the tps acceleration vs ECT change? Thanks
Well also if that is not helping. Verify you are having a lean condition under top in throttle but one way to combat it is by using the tuning software to add fuel in the top of your fuel table to correct the issue. I normally start the acc corr vs TPs at a lower number and mess with the table first. This is not in every car build but every engine is different.
@@actionvulture5251 ok. I’ll download the software today. Yesterday was the first start and it’s not ready to go down the road yet so Iam limited on doing any type of good data log. Hopefully I can get this sorted soon, the truck is supposed to make a two hr trip to C10 revival on the 19…no pressure lol. I did email Joe earlier this morning about a tech email address but haven’t heard back yet. I was approved to be a dealer so I figured I’d better try one myself and try to learn all I can before I started trying to push these.
question so you can use different size injectors so like if later down the road if i wanna make more power and i run out of injector i could put like some 160 pound injectors in i wasnt sure if the ecu would allow it
The killshot is currently lock in to have100lb injectors but they will change later so if you get some bigger injectors it can be done.
Can it be converted to progressive throttle linkage? Can it be run return less?
Progressive linkage with be a bit funny if too aggressive because the injectors are ontop of the plates. You can use a bypass regulator and deadhead to the throttle body. That is my normal setup.
is there any way you could do a do's and dont's video on the killshot? i have one, and im going to be getting it set up pretty soon, and a "How to install" video with do's and dont's, with explanations on why the "dont's" are so important, would be sick!

@@actionvulture5251 also any chance you could do a video on the wiring harness? I’m putting my kit in a 65 stang and I’d like to move the relays, fuses, extra wires, and the can connector further back on the harness closer to the ecu plugs. Not only for vanity but also for the functionality of having more wire further down stream to be able to mount things in more appropriate places in my engine bay
Also if I knew I could move things around in the harness I would feel better about where I’d like to drill my hole in the fire wall.
I'm assuming the injectors and sensors are off the shelf parts (hopefully) is that information available to the owner?
Yes. The injectors are 100lb hr pico ev6 those are the hardest but everything else is just acdelco stuff. Not sure about the map but I have seen them on some other small cars.

Those are selective washer for spacing out the tolerance stack up. Just like the input turbine shaft to pump on a 4l60e

The people that get it wrong and have issue don’t read instructions or are too proud to call tech support. I work everyday to make these systems have more and more easy buttons. I hunt down where the magic smoke comes from.

Would you say the jackpot is comparable to the holly? I'm looking to get a system this weekend, but just don't have faith in this system because of all the complaints.
Yes it is close to the application of the termx or xmax. As for negative comments, who ever posts good news on a help page. From my end I see a lot of install and setup issues. For a third party answer call one of the remote tuners and just ask how they feel about it and what they see. My opinion does not matter as much because I run the Aces R&D department.
@@actionvulture5251 I've seen a lot of people say it runs rich, but I don't think they're setting the fuel pressure up. Know you need to put your wheel size what gears you have, etc. all that could play a part to anybody's not doing it right you know can you give me a discount? I'll buy it from you right now.

Tim, how important is using injector loop % gauge to determine how engine is running w learn mode turned off ?? I’m seeing mid 77% under load to 100% on deceleration. On start up 105% ish. 🤔🤔. Is using this good aid to tune ?
Yes I like to use that. Anything under 100 is removing fuel. Anything over is adding a little. With that 77 under load make a note of rpm and map and you need to pull 20% out of that area and blend it out. I bet you it picks up power some
Ok cool. So I’m in middle of tuning. I have learned mode off. How long to keep off and what point do I turn back on ? What point do I keep off (learn mode) for good ?? When learn mode on what are the #’s I should be shooting for ?? Should they be same across the board ?? Thanks
I need this for my turbo 190. That part throttle at startup is annoying. Also this can account for the alternator kicking in? I’ll look up aces dbw
The dbw will chase whatever the target idle is no matter the engine load. It will go all the way to its set limit. I have no issues

Very interesting stuff! I timed my 1970 Baja Beetle, It was feeling very lazy afterwards. I retimed it and found that instead of advancing the timing I had retarded the timing. Quick twist of the distributor and it was running much better! 🤣

Enjoyed the video I purchased same distributer for my ford 302 - wasn’t sure about the 15 degree BTDC - is this standard for aces efi or is that the stock specific - I believe mine calls for 8 degree BTDC - thanks for any reply
The 15 degrees is a standard to verify your mechanical timing and digital readings are the same so timing control can do its job accurately

My Killshot working ok, but I have a problem with it when decelerating and push in the clutch it just dies! I've been watching all the videos you done, and it has sure helped me understand the Aces system! Keep doing the fun stuff!!!

Found out that the harness wont support 09 4l60 i swapped valvebody and wiring from 08 and it worked fine

Does everyone who gets this distributor have to do this? I bought the whole high roller ignition kit for my ford 460. Can I just drop it in like how it came?
You can if you want and let the advance do its thing. Or lock it out and build a timing retard table in the handheld if you like.
This has me worried that I might be fighting mine when I put in on. I bought my motor from a guy that builds them in his machine shop on the side. It's supposed to be a "355" with a mild cam is all I know. How hard is that going to be to dial in?
I do not mean to worry people by any means. The basic adjusts to get one running I usually do in the hand held then I use the tuning software to fine tunes stuff. Not really hard

For doing timing control on the killshot. Is good. For running a high roller you can let the mechanical advance do its job or lock it out and build a timing retard table

I bought this whole system tb , coil, distributor and 4l60e trans controller for my 1984 chevy k10. I can set the #1 cylinder close to TDC how do I get the 15° without a dial wheel? Currently 0° on the balancer.
I have my dizzy locked out tb installed. Currently have the old distributor still sitting on the oil pump. So taking this slow to figure it all out. I have about 3 days to get this up and running. and no cover as I'm outside 😂

Tim, So now have u on KillShot info I have another question. I have 98 (gen6) 454 that I installed Howards Rattler cam .555 lift .278/.286 dur and 109lsa. Runs great but doesn’t sound like a big cam @ idle. I talked to people @ Howards they that’s really lope idle cam ?? Is KillShot compensating for this ?? What do I need to do in tune to get lope back in idle ??
Where the timing and idle control are trying to achieve a target it will comp for that some. I will try to find some time in better explaining this and how to develop cam sounds.

What is difference btw using download button on top left to the ones on bottom right as u were using ?? 🤔🤔. I always downloaded from top buttons. And where/what would u adjust if motor sometimes keeps running a bit when I shut off ??
The one at the top does the whole ecu. The ones at the bottom does just the table your on. Also for the keep running when turning off, for tbi it could be fuel pressure or timing.

@@doc4244efa Yes you must start log, then end it. when you go to datalogger you can open the file to view it.
