This is one of my favorite nutrition videos. I love when someone on one side of an argument puts forth a good argument from the other side. On this she succeeds completely. This video encouraged me to start watching low-carb advocates, and I admit I've learned a lot. Believe it or not, there's actually some agreement.

It's great information. 6 years later, so far the microbiome question looks like a wash, or even advantage to carnivore / keto. But the data here invites a lot of obvious questions: Why care at all about glucose tolerance? It's an important test if you eat carbs, but otherwise? How long does it take to adapt to a very low fat diet? A very low carb diet? Might one switch every month? Every 3 months? Seasonally? Would alternating be a plus? What long term nutrient deficiencies are likely eating a carb based diet? Are there any such deficiencies to be expect on low carb? Ketosis has many benefits... increase in gamma interferon, improved mood, cognition, appetite control, etc. Are there similar benefits on a very low fat diet (meeting Minger's criterion)? Historically, women gathered, men hunted. Are there sex differences to be explored... Jack Sprat in reverse? A lot of commenters here praised Denise for her attitude. I don't see it. Presuming your audience is hostile is rude.

Eat whole, real unprocessed, seasonal, local fresh since photosynthesis is the best thing we get from our food per Dr. Jack Kruse.... He also questions studies being faulty in labs under blue light ....rats and mice not humans and with agendas to boot. LIGHT REALLY IS MORE ABOUT HEALTH THAN FOOD... THANK DR. JACK KRUSE FOR THAT TIP. The quote should be "Eat REAL Food, not too much both plant and animal foods." Were the DeAdamo's were correct? 'The Blood Type Diet' has 'O' blood types eat mostly animals and 'A' blood typles eat mostly plants and the other blood types had mixed diets. Could the sebo and nocebo effect be a factor?

I so appreciate your attitude. We don’t have all the answers. But we don’t need to fight and throw around mean words and accusations at each other. We need to examine the information with some objectivity. I have found that if I want to disprove an idea, I go about trying to prove it’s correct. I do this because it forces me to go to resources that I don’t normally choose. And that exposes me to information that I have not previously seen. It doesn’t often caused me to change my mind, but sometimes it does. I have been a high-fat proponent for some time. This is giving me some things to think about.

Clean food versus dirty chemically polluted food which is all processed food. Compare health before 1950 to after and you will see that modern conventional medicine fails epically.

You said it! I have observed people from so many different countries and their body composition isn't a result of macro proportions, what matters is how much they eat. Overconsumption of any macro is detrimental. My mum grew up with so much sugar, fat, meat, bread .... BUT she only had 3 meals that were limited in quantity. I have tried every diet under the sun and can get fat on any of them when I overeat with regards to my energy needs. When my dog puts on weight, I don't manipulate her macros, I just reduce how much she eats. How can this still be up for debate?

13:30 it doesn't have to be in excess (for me) if I eat something that is ultra processed, I simply gain fat. Glad to hear that carbs are not essential, try telling that to a Vegan or Vegetarian. I recently had a well known plant based burger, 88% of the kcals came from fat... in particular rapeseed oil. Very expensive, full of ultra processed ingredients... 18 in total.and as nourishing as a piece of cardboard. What was most shocking was the 1st ingredient....water. So they can mix water with rapeseed oil and 16 other ingredients and call it food. If we are FORCED to go plant based, our obesity isn't going to go away. 24:40 follow the money. Thank you for uploading and sharing.
