For the ICMP traffic: there is an existing Inbound Rule called: File and Print Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-in) that you can enable. You don't need to create a custom Firewall rule.

Wazuh 4.8 has a different dashboard than 4.7. I can't seem to locate the place to toggle on the Docker Listener. Is there something I'm missing?

If anyone has issues getting pfSense to send any data to the wazuh server, check the /var/ossec/etc/ossec.conf file and look at the <server> section where you set the IP. Mine (agent version 4.7.5) had a <protocol>UDP</protocol> line in it which caused the agent to fail the connection due to the wazuh server expecting TCP. Comment out the line, restart the agent and it should spring into life.

My CISSP ninth edition just arrived. With the new changes, I wonder if this book is relevant.

So my tips, write it down! With a pen and paper! Get a whiteboard! Draw the architecture design you think will work then go into the virtual lab and create it! Using your learnt theory in practical ways will cement it in your mind and will clearly identify to you what topics you need more work on!

after many errors and restarts, I finally have my lab in the same place as yours. Thank you for making this it has been very fun and informative, and can't wait to continue, though I do have one error I haven't been able to fix in Wazuh the firewall logs only say syslogd exiting (loging stopped) do you have any idea on how to fix this (I am using wazuh server 4.8.0 and agent 4.7.5)

i took David bombal CCNA i have completed that course and did a lot of labs,my question is it necessary that i need to attend the exam because that cost of it too high according top our currency or should i do any help desk IT job and after i can atttend it and other thing is that official cert guides are necessary or should i choose cisco docs for more information

Hi, I've been following along pretty smoothly up until the wazuh docker containers. My Wuzuh version is 4.8. I was wondering if you, Gerard, or anyone else have found a solution to docker listener not listening lol. I think the pip install is a bit funky but I can't seem to find any solutions online.

Word to the wise! KNOW YOUR STUFF!!! Certs are great, but they are intended to demonstrate your mastery of the topic. There are many shortcuts to getting a certification without mastering the topic. In cybersecurity, don't take shortcuts. KNOW YOUR STUFF!!! Then you will be able to answer ANY QUESTION in an interview and also demonstrate your knowledge. Passing a cert is not designed to replace or provide knowledge. It's designed to demonstrate your MASTERY of it.
