thank you for the videos, doing the CCNA course at the moment and planing on building a home lab using my old pc parts that i am looking at adding eve-ng to a proxmox build.

Hey! Good luck with the CCNA.. great one to go for! Packet tracer will do the job for a while but EVE-NG & GNS3 take it to the next level 😀

Strugged 2 days after work. CPU type to host made it work!

Hery mate, sounds like you need to install all the relevant client pack for your OS.. you can find them at the bottom of this page www.eve-ng.net/index.php/download/

Awesome video. Thank you for making this. One thing I'm stuck on is once I've made the Linux node the login prompt doesn't pop up. Any idea what could be stopping it?

Hi, i was thinking about install promox on vmware workstation to follow your guide to create home lab wondering if it will create any issue in the future :(

Hey there, you might run into all sorts of problems with nested virtualization. You could technically just build the lap on VMware workstation.. just need to work out the network but. Check out my very first video as I build pfsense on VMware workstation 👍

You have titled film as BEST way to CCNA or CCNP and you are showing how to download linux images... Which are probably useless in case of studying to cisco certs. Eve-ng does not offer cisco or any other provider images, meaning you have to find them on your own, which neither easy nor safe. I'm sharing this to caution anyone considering your suggestion. After following your advice to download and install EVE-NG, they might end up disappointed when they realize they can't build a network lab due to the absence of images. It's important to manage expectations and provide accurate information to prevent wasted time and effort.

Thanks for your comment, yes EVE-NG does not provide images.. they need to be sourced elsewhere. You can pay for Cisco VIRL and get images there, some images you get via platform trials, or... I was able to get images from work, the company I worked at used cisco etc, also friends helped me with images they could obtain too. If all else fails... Google hard enough you'll find anything you want. EVE-NG and GNS3 are still the best options for studying networking imo. 🙂
