Sorry for the late reply i missed the comment, but to answer your questions I’ve never fished east lake I’ve fished west just the one time in the tournament and the bite was on, every caught fish, not big ones but the quantity was there which made it fun. East is small and if your not catching stuff by noon you can always switch and launch at west would only take like 30mins best of luck!!

Ive been really busy this year and have not finished it but I plan to get it done over the Christmas break when I come home from University. Ive filmed most of the build so it should make for a good video.

The mouth of K Bay had 6' whitecaps Friday afternoon. I don't think they'd make it to Oro.

The auger was connected to a drill, pretty nifty lol and I think the net was brought incase something fell in the water while retrieving the gear.

That might be but I've fished that lake for 40 yrs. When theres large gaps of open water from wide cracks and a hard wind coming offshore the ice moves closing up those gaps piling ice leaving the shoreline wide open. Inexperience indeed

I bring a net so I can keep the fish alive by sticking the net itself in the home and letting the fish breathe so I can get a picture and weigh him

And if you refuse the rescue and say you’re medically fit and sound of mind they just leave you on the ice floe.

Ppl last week were giving me shit on blue ice report saying last week was last ice fishing opportunities they were all crying and calling me an idiot non the less who’s the idiot now hahah.

@@Marcus_Federico of course last weekend was very windy on the Friday. Saturday was windy and Sunday the wind was very calm until late afternoon. The temps that weekend was very much colder to point the ice was still freezing and pushing layers against layers. However leading up to the rescue I would never even think about going out especially on windy day and even if there wasn't any wind I would not go out. Got to respect the weather conditions because it would come back to bite you. Blue ice report is very focus on your safety they were probably looking out for your best interests. The problem with ice fishing is people may lack knowledge about safety and conditions. Without knowledge you lack wisdom. Some day who knows there just might be a course on ice safety and if you do not complete the course you cannot go out ice fishing just like a boat licence. There are some people out there that do not even know what ice picks are because I know this because they ask me what is that hanging around your neck?

@@tommycodfish yea if you don’t know what I was saying in the text above it was people calling me an idiot saying that last week was the last week of ice fishing because of this weeks winds and temps, I was telling everyone last Saturday that no one should be going out anymore and they said in crazy thinking they couldn’t go out this weekend some people dot understand what a plus 20 degree day does to the ice let alone all the strong winds as well

This whole season is been messed up with the ice they were on foot they had safety gear least they’re not the dummies they bring their cars and four wheelers out on the ice it happens every year

Did they go back for rest of the stuff, they left some there. Even if it wasn't there's at least bring it back

CR FISHING 3 adults in a John boat doesn't leave much room for gear...didn't think that one through? Only put the blade guard on the auger once they got to the truck so safety really isn't a top priority for these guys.

I don't think so but there might be fines for leaving the gear on the ice. The rescue airboat won't bring back gear
