As a 1stgen tundra owner .. Solid info. I have the 02’ AC Cab w/ 6’ bed 4wd. Grabbed a bed topper for $500 which is not bad. Also with a truck system you get more usable real estate that can also be washed out

You should try using a pipe about two to three feet long to go over ratchet as a cheater bar. It's so so much easier to break bolts and nuts free without much strain

It's all about having 😁 you go, enjoy. You can a ladder 🪜 for the Sequoia that attaches to your rack that swivels up as you open the rear hatch. Turn your tent around so it open to the rear. Your good to go.

I had a 2002 lifted Sequoia Limited. I build it into a camper. I like it and it got me where I needed to be. Then I moved on to a 2017 double cab limited trd with a mid-rise rise topper. I freaking love it but it is longer but no regrets. Your tree has come a long way I got some ideas from you when I had my tree thanks for the advice 🤙

I saw one guy build out a salvage 2nd Gen Tacoma to sleep inside on the passenger side and built out a “canopy” over the bed to store his dirt bike and camp gear.

No Perfect Plan has lived out of her 4Runner since she bought it in 2020 and just recently got a RTT since her dog Zora is rather large. Roaming Reckless camps out of a RHD Defender w/ AluCab top on it. So it just is personal preference as I’m sure you will get to.

It’s just me so that is why I got a 2023 Tacoma Access Cab so I could get the 6’ bed and be the shortest length available overall. I wouldn’t mind the DCLB if I didn’t live in Honolulu. I plan on building out the bed so that I can camp out without a rooftop tent. It has been nice for utility having the 6’ bed when we had to clean out an apartment after the tenant moved out and left all kinds of trash behind. My first foray into the off road/Overlanding was a 2022 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium, I was going build out the rear like Mike of Overland Bound built out their LC 80. Biggest regret of my vehicle ownership was selling my 4Runner.

I have a first gen Seqouia too and going long travel kit next month. Just waiting on the parts but that’s what your trucks missing man. It would look so aggressive.

good topics are top 3 lift kits or top 3 roof racks or front bumpers with ready holes for lead bars or IR projectors. Retrofit android navigations or some other tech like side steps good for city scratch prevention or rock sliders good scratch resistant paint, retrofitting xenon headlights and reflectors.

i want to ask you if i get the newer version 2nd gen sequoia would that be ok to lift and use as a weekend of roader and rest of the time family carrier. Couse i do like more the older gen like yours couse it looks slightly smaller and a bit not so much drawing attention.

for me truck (or pickup as we call it in the EU), for the simple reason of being able to transport diesel, trash etc in the back without having to smell that in the cab? But a small one. Like toyota hilux / ford ranger etc. Yes you have to buy a canopy, but drilling and working on that is not scary because a leak in the truckbad isn't that bad.

I started in a '97 Nissan Pickup single cab, 6' bed. Built drawers in the bed and it was perfect for me and my dog.. but I couldn't fit a second person. I wanted to upgrade to an SUV or am access cab truck to keep a 6' bed so I could bring my girlfriend and my dog comfortably without needing a rooftop tent (so crew cab 5' bed truck wouldn't cut it). Found a '15 Frontier in great condition access cab, 6' bed with a hard shell. It is the perfect two person + dog camper. Tons of extra storage space in the bed even with the drawers and sleeping area. And still room for two people, dog, cooler in the cab. A third person would be squished, but possible if they're willing to have my dog on top of them lol. A camper in the far future would be fantastic

I got the 02 sequioa and the 17 tacoma with a shell. When I camp or take the dogs to the woods I just prefer the sequioa

The fold up ladders not that expensive well here in the UK anyway and might be a good thing to invest for your channel is a roof top tent 👍

while i don't think it would be cheaper then the current tent if you got a pop-up tent for up there it probably make the setup quicker

It's the same reasons I got mine I even did the same front bumper trim!! I also have done preventive maintenance plus tires and suspension but it's all stock specs and as is it's been great off roading, I love the amount of space I have and also coming from smaller suv's it's great not having to play a game of tetris with all my camping gear in the back.
