How To Play 4K Video on Tube Tv's & How To Record YouTube on VHS Tapes
For $15 you can record video from your computer to VHS tapes. Of course you will need a VCR, but the adapter to convert 4K to 460 is a very simple $15 part found on amazon.
The adapter plugs into any HDMI port and turns the signal into old style composite video. That composite video can be plugged into an old TV from the 1990's or to an RF Modulator, another $20 adapter, to any TV from 1940 to 1980.
We use this quite a bit on our sets to play modern video on old TV's. Or for that matter, to play old video on old TV's.
Tube TV's make a bold statement about the mood of a scene, the setting, the time period, you name it, they are iconic and are in every low end bar, hotel room or back woods gas...

600 Watts of Video Light for $150
Просмотров 155Месяц назад
Can you really film with outdoor flood lights? Is 600 watts of light bright? There seems to be the misconception that video lights must come from video light companies, but that has never been the case. In fact until just a few years ago, lights were lights, nothing special, nothing special about video lights. That was until they started making LED lights and through the marketing of influencer...

      I actually like the cheap GideGear track with a dolly and skate wheels. Do not get the Glide Gear wheels, but having a tripod that you can push at any height level over light weight tracks is great. The track is light and will not bump like the heavier track with bigger gaps. However, that is for one person at one level, unless you add a jib to the tripod. If you need a camera man on a dolly, we still have not found a good budget option. We were hoping the proaim track would be that solution. Proaim contacted me after they saw video and they are working on improving the tracks. When they do, it should be much better.

      I thought about that. I was considering using aluminum duct tape, which I love, to bridge the gap. Have not tried it, but something like that might help. This is a link, I think it is the right stuff ( www.lowes.com/pd/3M-3M-8482-Professional-Grade-Flexible-HVAC-Sealing-Tape-1-88in-x-30yds/5001605999 ). Don't get me wrong, it is usable, I just don't think for $700 that it is worth the money. They have other track, but it is more expensive. But I would avoid Proaim track, because if one is bad then how can we expect the other to be good? I was really disappointed. But I will probably use it as speed rail to make a large scrim since it is standard 1.25 schedule 40 pipe. Just need the corners and I am good to go. A bit more expensive than plain aluminum pipe, but not a total loss.

  • @recardosands9948
    @recardosands9948 Месяц назад

    Hi and good video, the flexing problem is lack of triangulation. You need to triangulate the long speed rail to the shorter speed rail in which you have the camera mounted too.

    • @mrdogpoopstudios
      @mrdogpoopstudios Месяц назад

      Yeah, I figured that. The issue is, doing it and keeping it light enough to be usable and not creating shadows. We tried a second version with lighting truss but it was too heavy to move and still had flex. My original thought was to use speed-rail fittings and get 45° fittings to brace the top and side rail. But it would not solve the side to side floppyness. I was thinking about putting a square in the center of each pole and connecting each corner with each end with cable. It is a common design on large booms and might work, but it is going to take a bunch of time and money and at the moment, the project is on hold. It works well at 5'-6' just not at 10'.

      @@recardosands9948 Yeah, that is true and we were trying to figure out how to manage the weight and span. Are glide gear products not good?

    • @mrdogpoopstudios
      @mrdogpoopstudios 2 месяца назад

      Glide Gear has some great products you can check out some deals on a video we did about those: ruclips.net/video/_pHIVpy0Vrg/видео.html The only product we hate is their wheels and anything that uses their wheels. They are so bad they are completely useless. They need to get some new wheels, they are junk. We did an entire video about them. But they sell some of the same products as other companies and some of them are very useful and inexpensive.

    That doorway dolly is what I have been looking for

    • @mrdogpoopstudios
      @mrdogpoopstudios 3 месяца назад

      We built it fr about $200 using some front axles from one of those electric mobility scooters. We got them on ebay for $40 each and connected them with some 1" steel tube. The platform is a cut out from a wood kitchen counter top for a sink installation. It was scrap but too nice to throw out. We wanted to build another one and do a video on how, but I don't know if we will have time.

      You will not regret it, the quality is amazing. But I see now they have raised the price to $1299. I am glad I got mine when it was cheaper. Just a note, Vaxis does sell other parts that I did not know about including safety or anti top pieces. www.vaxisglobal.com/Grip-Dolly-c917820.html I ordered the ones with wheels and the under slung adapters but still have not received them yet. They also have more attachments but I can't find them for sale anyplace.

      @tylerjanik2132 3 месяца назад

      @@mrdogpoopstudios yeah I found the site last night after wondering where to get underslung parts since it’s not on MOVMax site. Will definitely be getting all the accessories.

    • @mrdogpoopstudios
      @mrdogpoopstudios 2 месяца назад

      @@tylerjanik2132 So there are more parts as well if you contact the US Vaxis dealer in LA. I have not seen any of the accessories for sale online. But they are calling the grip dolly a platform and plan to make many more accessories for it. They have attachments to make it a High Hat to use off tracks for static shots. I think they will keep developing new toys for it.

      @@mrdogpoopstudios yeah I love that idea of having a whole ecosystem for the movmax and it not just being an alternative to a Dana Dolly. I’ll have to contact the dealer to check out the other accessories. Me and my brother spent hours testing it yesterday and it is fantastic.

      We got it on ebay, but they are also available on amazon. It looks like vevor.com has one for $275 but amazon has the same vevor oven for $257. You can find them under $200 but those are good places to look. It does look really cool in the kitchen set up.

      @@FoodyTongs You can see the videos we did at www.youtube.com/@mrdogpoopcooks but with just a few views each we decided to discontinue it. In our case we have to break down the kitchen and move it so we can shoot other videos and that is just too much work for 30 views and no subs or growth.
