360° Dana Dolly Tracks - How To Build Slider Tracks That Rotate 360° for Your Dana or Movmax Dolly

We are always looking to create new tools for film makers and this elaborate but not expensive device will change how you think about Dana Dollys.
For a couple hundred dollars and four pieces of speedrail you can build a simple but powerful rig to add unique motion to your video and films.
Drop the rig on top of an old Vinten studio pedestal and it will be even better allowing flexible height, circular motion and in and out dolly shots with ease.
That was our goal in developing the rig, putting one of our $295 Vinten Fulmars to use.
We realized this rig was possible when we built the giant 360° rig to spin around a subject or product. We built the rails as the same distance on center as one of the homemade dollys and tried the dolly on the rails and it was amazing.
So we made plans to build a more portable unit that could be used on a tripod, or our crab dolly.
Imagine this unit on top of a crab dolly moving through a scene and having this unique composite motion.
Now, we are not Fisher or Lenard Chapman, but we do come up with some really cool ideas on a tight budget.

Was the slider in the movie? Or did you just need cheap a slider for the shot?
That does give me a great idea to make a super cheap slider out of PVC.

The Cartoni P-20 is too light for the rig. It only supports 50lbs, but from our experience, it support much less.
