You guys read my stupid ghosts of Christmas question! It was written mildly drunk. I've never actually seen Heaton's fingers. I just assumed they were proportional with the rest of him.
At my place, we keep our "winter tree" up until the Daylight Savings switch...
5:33 - "She was not fat at all. She was beautiful". This could be labeled a problematic statement, Jen 😬
System quarterback for Alabama was perfect
I can’t believe you libs thought project 2025 was fake. Hahahaha you are going to love it
I can't believe you're intellectualising the mutual-incomprehension marriage and subjecting it to rational analysis. That they didn't do any of that is kinda the point. It's a British thing, that's how we live. Don't knock it, that's how we created the Empire.
And as we know, if there's ONE thing ALL Americans can agree on looking back on pleasantly, it's the British Empire.
@@Xanthanarium But we gave you all that land for nothing. You didn't even pay your back taxes. Talk about ungrateful. 😡 Anyway, we just wanted you to find out you couldn't make it on your own. Nigh-on 250 years later you still haven't worked it out, but we have confidence you'll do so in the next four years. We still love you, you can come home whenever you want while you sort yourselves out. You can always try again later. There's no shame in it and we won't even say 'We told you so'.

Andrew, you can do your email classification using ChatGPT. You build a custom gpt trained on your email categories, then use make (kinda like zappier) to bounce messages from gmail, to your custom gpt, and then create tasks in todoist (or similar, I use clickup)

But the REAL partisan wins were the friends we made along the way 🤗
If I was a greedy business owner, I'd go to that Council of Greed meeting, say "sure I'll raise my prices 20% with you all", then keep my prices the same and sell 5000% more items than all the other dumber greedy companies who can't compete with their artificially inflated prices. Then they'd go out of business and I'd own the industry, so then I could raise my prices 20% higher with monopoly power.
IF People think that they “like” their health insurance it’s because they haven’t had to use it OR they like that their boss covers more of their insurance than they do. I’m an Independant contractor and pay over 20k per year for shitty coverage with 8k deductible. The past three claims I made were denied entirely. Concierge health? Rural communities have no options for that. In our county in WA state has ONE provider to choose from so no competition means high price and low quality. GO LOCAL? It isn’t possible outside of urban hubs.
As someone who voted Green, if third party wasn't an option, I would have left President blank 🤷
haha I've been saying for a while that we need to bring back city-states. The whole "red state, blue state" thing is wrong. Clearly wrong when you look at district electoral maps. It's an urban-rural divide. City-states would be useful in dealing with this.
Wow! a video with only 13 comments and only six hundred something views! How fun!
Sorry but we don’t have drones that can go from space to sea level in one sec aliens are here end of story
As someone who works in healthcare with state and commercial insurance Medicare DOES deny claims. The Medicare advantage plans cover more of certain things. What someone should have depends on what they need. Tradeoffs
36:50 - i dont want the democrats to have "stars". I want them to have representatives that get things done for the people. Ocasio-Cortez seems more focused on celebrity than she is practical outcomes

30:45 - we are due to redraw states, but there is no political will to do this. New Hampshire and Vermont should be one state!
New Vermontshire
Hampont
Why do Maryland and Delaware exist as states at all? Why is New England six different states? Why New York not an independent city-state?
No one up here wants to absorb New Hampshire.
@@Matthew.R.Gaglio”Independent city state”? Are we in Ancient Greece?

Murder is murder. Period. Heaton is right that vigilantes should not be lauded for illegal actions. Jen is also right that there should be some kind of legal recourse and justice for people whose legitimate claims are denied. I don't have the answer, but there are many smart people and many alternate systems that could be better than the current one in this country.
Sunday in the fall I watch NFL RedZone so I can avoid commercials.
1099s and small business owners absolutely can deduct their health insurance costs from their income. You guys are all self employed, how do you not know this? I’m happy to refer you all to my fractional cfo/accountant. He’s even based in Austin
Briney's function in media is "the thinking Democrat's Taylor Lorenz". Lorenz will clumsily express "joy" over the public execution. Briney however will couch her agreement in "she gets it" + a long winded IG feels anecdote post involving sick friend/private health insurance bad. This podcast is for collectivists who fancy themselves as objective & so they appreciate the effort made to have the propaganda delivered in a subtle manner. Oh & here's bare feet to feed the algorithm machine lol.
I agree TV adds SUCK. Just someone invading your time and life with junk and crap you don’t want or need🙈🫡
26:30 - in a democracy, when a politician does not do what the people want, that politician can be replaced with another politician. Americans keep voting for politicians that dont care about health care reform. Jen is ignoring that the american electorate is stupid and votes against their own well being 56:55 - political pressure is mentioned later
Americans keep voting for the people they are offered. The duopoly decides who makes it onto the ballot and we have had to choose from the lesser of two evils for many decades.
Jens position is completely inconsistent and solely driven by emotion. She says this murder is quasi-justified because the political system doesn't work, but the assassination of a politician wouldn't be because you have a great avenue through the political system.
She even said it is super simple and has easy solutions and then a few minutes later she says it's super complicated and hard to solve. She jumps from one position to another and isn't the least bit consistent
@@diewollsocke2674 When someone arrives at a position purely due to emotion and then another analogous topic come out that they aren't as emotionally attached to, their opinion will very often be inconsistent. It is what I expect of Jen.
@@diewollsocke2674I think her reference to “its simple” she means getting the profit motive out of healthcare by removing insurance corporations out of the equation.
And with politicians we can st least try to vote them out. We can’t vote out insurance CEO’s who deny claims … which kill people for profit.
@@mcoverdale that doesn't "fix" it though, which she claimed was easy
ANDREW! MOUNT YOUR CAMERA ON SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T SHAKE!
1:19:19 The resell value of the trump 47 merch would go up
I'm not always on Jen's side, but with the Luigi discussion I am exactly in agreement.
The healthcare conversation was good, but I'm was disappointed in how you all dance around a contributing factor of classism. Heathen hilariously goes in the opposite way of suggesting a poors(public) option and a rich(private) option. I know that this shooter was well off, but even he looked at the system and thought that the CEO was super super super absurdly rich to the detriment of the people. The question shouldn't have been how to fix the healthcare system, but how to fix the the oligarchy, or why do a large part of the population think we are in an oligarchy.
My favorite quote about violence is from JFK: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." While I agree with Justin that being tied to 'vigilante justice' is not conducive to creating political change... I also agree with Jen that the first step is making it clear to "the people at the top", that the current situation is untenable... one way or another.
Show opens with Jen instructing the audience to light Justin up for his opinions on commercials, but I don't think that's how the emails are going to go.
I've been a member of Team Beard since my thirties. It took overcoming some biases - I remember growing up associating bears with the scraggly scarecrows in bell bottoms in the late 1960s and early 1970s - but moving from California to states that actually have four seasons, the joys of facial insulation won me over. I do look like Santa's fatter younger brother, but when I'm clean shaven I look much younger and get called "ma'am." Beard it is.
I'm with Jen. FUCK COMMERCIALS. I mute every nfl commercial and I would block them out live if I could. I show up to movie theaters 15 mins late just to avoid the commercials.
I do *EVERYTHING I CAN* to avoid commercials (one of the reasons I like you-all's content). They are fundamentally trying to manipulate me, and I don't like being manipulated.
Props to Jen for not letting herself be interrupted and saying "hold on, I know what I'm saying is uncomfortable". It feels like Justin fairly consistently tries to step on her or assert very specific positions on her (e.g. constantly interjecting "So he deserved to die?").
She began with asking a question, which Justin tried to answer. Then Jen acted like she was interrupted and monologued.
No Competition your company just goes with the lowest bidder on the insurance. I guess people could pay out of pocket for another insurance company but it costs a lot out of pocket.
The people cheering Luigi and saying he shouldn't be punished are hurting their cause just as much as people cheering when IDF destroys hospitals and Hamas killing civilians. They just look like homicidal ghouls, and it is repugnant. You can sympathize with a someone's motives and clearly condemn the criminal actions they take. Being on the "good" team doesn't grant blanket immunity.
Every time I start to think that maybe Jen isn't so bad she comes out with a take like this on straight up premeditated murder on the street. This is very much in line with her Gaza opinions and indicates someone who is utterly controlled by emotions with very little mental energy dedicated to reason.
That's not entirely fair. I think Jen has a lot of complicated feelings on the topic, and she was doing her best to voice them in totality rather than uncomfortably handwaive them. She's very well aware of the middlemen in the health insurance industry, she's done a podcast on them. She said she doesn't approve of the murder, but she also understands why people are reacting positively to it. Jen is closer to the public on this situation, and I think her input and ability to express it eloquently is highly valuable. However much you don't agree with it, she doesn't come to her conclusions for no reason. It takes a great deal of mental energy to say the things she did, because they are not directly in line with the 'pro assassination' stance so many people have taken, and she knows full well she's going to take heat from both sides(mostly the pro side) for her more nuanced stance. The reason this podcast is great is because you can get people of differing opinions together like this and see how the ideas collide with each other. If this were just a conversation on healthcare, regulations, and government overreach, it would have a totally different tone than it does. Jen is coming from the perspective that insurance companies denying service is tantamount to murder, which is most certainly an emotional stance, but can also be reached logically from specific perspectives of responsibility and legality; which she illustrated in her argument. To be honest, they could do a 4 hour podcast on this subject. The healthcare system didn't get this bad overnight, and so fixing it will take time as well, and even then you need the political and social will to do it. Support of RFK is an indication there is an appetite for health in the USA, so we'll see how that plays out. In the meantime, the system as it is will continue to damage people and let them slip through the cracks due to the actions of past administrations(chiefly the Obama administration as Justin pointed out).
