Winter just dropped with avengance here in old Blighty. My T4 is blowing cold air, no hot, I thunk k I've tracked it down to this control valve. Inlet to the heater core is hot, outlet pipe is cold. On removing the control arm, I see that the square flange that the metal arm sist over is buggered. Even though the arm is moving freely, the actual valve isn't. Will order up a new one. Hi PJ i got a 1.4 carb and i have a problem with misfire and also my rev counter jumps up and down and it cuts out on idle...i replaced the distributor cap and rotor and also the ht leads what can be the problem?

Good day Guy.... I have a mk1.... When i bought the car.... It started normally and afterwards it wouldnt start.... After mechanic gave it a mini service and cleaned the fuel lines.... It makes a very funny squeeking noise when idling and pulling away or changing gears.... Changed Alternator.... Check covers.... Tighten one of the pulleys that came loose indrive And apparently my Timing belt is fine.... His assuming now that its the waterpump.... just for assurance is there anything else i should check.... A lot of people are saying its the timing belt cover on the inside and i dont want to just buy the water pump and the sound persist... And to my mechanics knowledge.... The waterpump usually has a whistling sound and not a squeeking sound..... Would appreciate some feedback.... #beblessed

Thanks for the video. I changed my diaphragm yesterday, but fuel is squirting out of the area that houses the diaphragm. What do you think it could be? Should I put a sealant around the area? All 3 screws are turned in tightly, but still having the leak when accelerating…

Hi there. I have a Chico 1.4 fuel injection vw golf mk1. I struggle to start the vehicle when vehicle is switched off. I changed my distributor with carburetor distributor on fuel injection engine. Can that maybe be the cause of vehicle struggling to start or is it something to do with the ignition timing? Can you please assist me with this issue. I had my vehicle at vw mechanic but he also doesn't know what problem is. He even tested vehicle on diagnostic & result kick out as the Mapsensor. Must I replace Mapsensor?

No i want to fix my back parcel rack to hinge properly. I had my 4 speed rebuilt a few months ago for R4500 included syncro rings. My gear linkage was renewed but thw shif is slowly deteriating again. I remain a fan of you, PJ!

Where does the connector that is connected to the air cut off valve run too? I have a mark 3 what would switch off when coming to stops, found my cut off valve was disconnected and the wire it was connected to ran through the fire wall, but I see here it runs somewhere else

Hi mk1 1.3 carb starts and switches it self off after some few minutes it won't start after that you have to wait for sometime for it to start and rev. What could be the problem my mechanic says he does not know what the problem is he wants us to get the head checked but I have spent alot of money on the car I feel it might be something other than the head as the car drove for a day before doing this
