      Assuming you are asking how to disconnect the connector from the sensor, It's a push and pull style connector. The grey part has a wing that you can push down with your finger or a screw driver and then when depressed fully the connector will pull off the sensor.

    You only change the piston ? Why not the cilinder ? Is it only piston rings that wear ? And is it not possible to change the piston if you let the motor in the frame,so only cilinder take off ?

    • @owensworkshop
      @owensworkshop Год назад

      Correct. Only change the Piston, rings, wrist pin bearing, and gaskets. The cylinder will wear and become larger in diameter, for this reason, KTM sells two sizes of pistons ( I and II). Piston II is to be installed when the bore diameter becomes larger (wears) and is between 54.012mm-54.025mm. I do change top ends while the engine is in the frame and I only remove the cylinder. What do you recommend measuring the base gasket with, also should I check the piston ring end gap at all?

    • @owensworkshop
      @owensworkshop 2 года назад

      I use a digital caliper to measure the base gasket thickness. The proper and most precise way to set your gasket thickness or "deck height" is by using a decking gauge and preforming what is called "decking". I have never specifically checked the ring gap when doing a top end rebuild; however, I think it is a valid measurement to check. The piston ring gap tolerance is less than or equal to 0.40mm. The piston diameter tolerance is less than or equal to 0.010mm. I hope this helps!

    So I rejet my 19 TC125 to 0-1000 ft of elevation and 41-60 degrees, cause I’m always in between 0-1000 for elevation and 41-60 degrees, The manual said to adjust air screw to 2 turns out. Which I did. Then I rode it around and when I got back I pulled the plug to look for color and it was clear, I have been adjusting the air screw between 1.5 and 2 turns out, got a little coloration on the threads but barely any on the top, could this mean one the jets is too lean, which it shouldn’t be cause I followed the chart correct? Or is that normal? I’m just asking because I am afraid of the no color could mean lean correct?

    My gas tank has no gas in it, usually my bike would be kept in the garage for the winter, and it’s not heated so it’s cold. Iv had it out there in the cold for the past few days. And yesterday I moved it in the house for warmth, do I have to worry about any condensation and water occurring in the gas tank or anywhere in the engine?

    • @owensworkshop
      @owensworkshop 2 года назад

      If your bike is in a climate controlled environment you should be fine. I don't know about water in the gas tank. You would need to check that in the spring. If it's a concern then put a tiny bit of gas in the tank, slosh it around, and then dispose of the gas.

  • @tmsedits3093
    @tmsedits3093 2 года назад

    Would it be ok to drain the gas tank for the winter on my Tc125, should I drain the gas out of my carburetor as well. Also I run VP premix.Or would it be ok to let a little bit of gas sit in the float bowl?

    • @owensworkshop
      @owensworkshop 2 года назад

      I agree and would drain the whole fuel system including the carb. Take a 17mm wrench and unscrew the nut in the bottom of the float bowl to drain the bowl. Hope this helps.

    I just asked cause I thought that there was a certain amount of hours you had to put on the new motor before rejecting

    • @owensworkshop
      @owensworkshop 2 года назад

      When one gets a new bike they need to break in the engine when it is brand new which is around 1 hour. This does not have any impact on when one can jet their bike. I think that if you jet your bike now is a great time. FYI, the typical life span of a top end is 20hrs according to KTM but I stretched mine out to 30hrs.

  • @tmsedits3093
    @tmsedits3093 2 года назад

    At how many hours do you think would be mid life span?

  • @tmsedits3093
    @tmsedits3093 2 года назад

    My 19 Tc125 has a new motor, I’ve put about 4 almost 5 hours on it would it be ok to rejet?

    • @owensworkshop
      @owensworkshop 2 года назад

      One can reject their bike at anytime. I recommend doing jetting within the first half of the lifespan of the top end (piston) as the engine performance is always impacted by the condition of the piston.
